They probably just chose people at random then, since I'm sure there were more applicants than 100,000 considering how many people use Gaia and how many of those users have been freaking out in anticipation over the battle system.

I'll have to check the forum, I'm not sure exactly where they post the next server test date...or when they'll post the date at all.
