He threw a furtive glance to his daughter, acknowledging with her what he was saying. "I can't involve my office in this," he said, turning to the boys. "I'll do it. Tammy, you'll be my back-up."☯

She knew what her father meant. Legally, he should not be doing what he was agreeing to do. He should be reporting this information to the Witch Watchers and letting them handle it. But he was the best.And she knew that. She nodded to her father, knowing that she may well have to duel Aldanis to prevent him from stopping her father. Suddenly Chalmes as asking to help. You have to admire his tenacity, she thought to herself.

I know you wish you could help more." He pondered what they would have to do next. They would need somewhere safe to do this, but he could come up with no safe place. Her job will be making sure Aldanis does not interrupt my attempt to beat his control. However, Tamara will not be able to watch all the entrances. That's where I want you boys to come in. Help her cover the entrances, but if you should spot anyone approaching the house, do not attempt to engage them. Get Tamara. Understand?" he asked, looking pointedly at Chalmes, before turning his gaze to Chris.☯

Tamara stepped towards Chalmes and put a hand on his shoulder. "Look Chalmes, I know this sucks. Not being able to do much to help... I've been there." She looked over at her father, both of them recalling the time she was tortured by Travers and had to watch as her father dueled the madman. "I know you have a wicked punch, but that's not going to stop a mad man like Aldanis. I've fought him before." She pulled up her shirt just enough to show him the huge puckered scar that ran across her stomach, disappearing down her side. "He'll kill you without a second thought, before you can even get near him. If this was anyone else we were dealing with, I'd trust you could handle it all your own. But it's not. Aldanis Varren is a very dangerous man, and I'd hate to see you get hurt. Either of you. And your father would too. My father doesn't even want me there because he knows what this man can do. So, please, just accept that this time, you'll be the back-up and defer to someone else." There was a pleading look to her eyes that was almost irresistible, as if she knew Chalmes might try something and she was his last stopper.

Morvin stood outside the door to the Auror's Office, cementing his courage to finally do what he had been planning all year. Morvin was already wanted in Germany for attacking a magical police officer after his escape from Durmstrang. After this though, the new Dark Lord would undoubtedly accept him into his ranks. He puffed up his chest, filling himself with the courage he had been planning and opened the door. The first Auror he saw was Arnold Cloud, a young man with a famous family. Morvin did not want to kill him, so instead the surprised man received a stunning hex cast from his wand.

☯As the boy stunned Arnold, several Aurors jumped to their feet and threw spells at him. Arthur, in his office, heard the commotion. Since Aldanis' death at his daughter's hands, Arthur had cleared his board and replaced it with anew board, with the mysterious Lord that Aldanis mentioned. He linked this Lord with Justin Phelps, his mysterious disappearance and the death of his remaining relative. When he heard the commotion, Arthur opened his office door and was amazed at what he saw.☯

☯One of the Aurors was hit with a spell that made him convulse as if he were having a seizure. Another Auror dropped beside him in order to get the convulsions under control. Arthur emerged from his office and entered the fray with Morvin. The boy was hiding behind Arnold Cloud's desk. Where was Arnold?☯
