Rock sighed as he rolled from under one of his cars. He got up and wiped his hands from the dirt and oil before heading upstairs to his kitchen. He had gotten out of rehab very early, even if they had trouble catching him. The only reason he hadn't gotten out was because he didn't know the layout of the area and got cornered, 4 years ago when he tried to escape with Kierra. He hasn't heard from her since.
Anyways, he grabbed himself a snack before going back down in the garage and opening the garage door and grabbing the remote beside the door. "Off for another cruise, see if this baby's going better." He spoke to himself as he hopped behind the steering wheel of the car. He turned the key and let the engine roar to life loudly, shaking the car a little. He had himself 3 cars in total, all with their specific lot in the garage, and a good set of tools in a garage. AND he kept receiving money every week from the business he had bought with half the money. The other half, he bought the house he now lives in. He let the chevvy Nova SS 1972 and turned on the radio for some good old AC/DC. The song that turned on from his USB key and started flowing out of the brand new sound system was Hell's Bells. He took the remote that he had put in the cup holder and pressed the shut and lock button to close his garage as the car slowly as the engine seemed to shake the hood, like a monster shaking it's cage to get out.

"I feel bad having not read your book until now. When did it come out?" Adrian asked curiously. "Not that I really need to read it I guess, seeing as how what I didn't go through, I can hear straight from the source."

Everyone cheered when Alexia finished her song. She bowed to her lovely audience before Sherl, the cafè manager, came over. "Hey, Alex, take a break for a bit." she said, "Don't want our second main attraction losing her voice." The winged girl giggled, "Second? I'm pretty sure I attract people in here and then they buy your ultimate mocha lattès, Sher." Turning to her audience for a minute, she announced, "Time for a break, lovely listeners, but I'll be back to sing some Christmas songs next soon enough!" A few people clapped as Alexia stepped off the stage and headed towards the counter to get some water.

Locke applauded as well. Then he saw Alexia coming over to the counter. "That's a nice voice you got there," he said as he received his coffee. "And the song was good, too."

Thinking on it, Amaya sighed, putting a hand to her chin. "I think maybe two months ago?" She said, not entirely sure as she thought about it now. "Two months sounds about right. I dunno, I just do what the publisher says." She finally decided with a shrug.

"That makes me feel better then. Means I'm not completely blind to what's been going on. Any plans to keep writing, or was this a one time fluke?" Adrian asked curiously.

"I dunno...I mean at this point it's like, what do I write about?" She asked Adrian with a sigh. "I've never seen many authors of books talking about tragic incidents go on to write more books."

"That's true....If your first book is your autobiography, it's kinda hard to use that as a jumping off point into the literary world." Adrian noted. "I actually got a few offers to go big myself--record producers sometimes like scoping out clubs for local talent I guess--but I turned 'em down." he said turning around to lean back against the counter. "If I did, I wouldn't have had the time to look for you, and they would have no screwed with my music and turned me into some sort of angsty idol for mutates or something."

"You could now though." Amaya said as she looked at him. "And what I've found is people like you and I...they eat that stuff up. And they'll do what you want if that means you let them represent you. You'd bring in a lot of money for a record company, you'd get to write the terms of your contract more than a normal person would." She observed. "My publisher wanted me to go on a giant book tour all over the country. I forced them to cut it to four shows in New York or I'd give someone else publishing rights. It's rather easy. And if they don't listen, a good lawyer always helps." She told him, now moving over to the couch to take a seat.

"Eh, maybe...." Adrian said with a shrug as he got up to join Amaya on the couch. "But being on the road like this...it's not something I would have even given thought to before I changed. You see more things, meet more people. If I want to live the good life, I'll fork over the obscene amount of cash I now have." he said leaning his head back and resting it on the back of the couch as he looked up at the ceiling in thought. The past four years on his own had really mellowed him out, and it was actually a strange experience to be here with an actual person like this, even if it was Amaya. "My music comes from my feelings and my experiences. I don't want to take the chance of some big money bags coming in and shoving it down everyone's throats like the music of every other up and coming artist. If people want to hear me out, great. If not, then let them walk away."

Amaya gave him a slight shrug before resting her head on his shoulder. "Up to you. I won't push you either way. I'm just glad you're here." She told him, resting her hand on his.

"Maybe later once I've actually settled down, or at least once it feels that way." Adrian said moving an arm around her shoulders. "Right now I feel like I'm just visiting more than anything, though I have no plans on leaving again."

The winged girl beamed at the customer. "Thank you!" she said happily as Melissa, the cashier for today, handed her a bottle of water, "And thank you, Mel!" Alexia giggled and took a drink. "Haven't seen you here before. What brings you here?" she asked.

"Good...I was about to get very worried." Amaya said, having tensed for a moment before relaxing again. She didn't want Adrian to leave after having just found her and Calista. It was the first time they'd seen each other in four years and she'd be heartbroken if he just left.

"Trying to get away from the crowd outside," he said, putting sugar and cream in his coffee. "And it worked better than I imagined. By the way what is you name?"
