"I sincerely hope so." Gale finished his drink and finally leaned back in his chair, looking relaxed for the first time since he'd arrived. He closed his eyes, in reality thinking about the list of names and places. They'd been centered around things and he'd seemed to notice.
Rocks... The eastern edge was ringed in rocks, like the ledge he and his apprentice had come to pass. But they'd have to look into that further, it could even be a coincidence, they did exist. Still, was there even a reason to place bodies next to rocks? It was such an oddly situated village, ringed on the east with rocks and on the west with plains. The borderlands, if you would.

"Well she did go missing for a long time. Even the elders at the college still aren't sure where she went." Amaya reminded her softly. "I think it's good to have a tough master when it comes to training and learning though. It at least means they care. To me at least." She said, still holding her drink close to her lips as she leaned her elbows on the table.
Twilight knew Gale was dancing around the same idea she had been, though she said nothing as she thought over it as well. She'd consider a rock troll the culprit, except they weren't known to kill unless you were dumb enough to stumble upon their territory. The village had been here for years, and the killings only started a month ago. She'd have to consider other creatures known for hanging around a rocky outcropping Over the years though, she'd run into many creatures, and many situations that had contradicted the norm. So she would have to go out soon and gather evidence.

Gale watched the apprentices talk for a moment, remembering his own years as they were now, and smiled. They could distract themselves for a bit, they weren't old coots like he and Twilight. It showed progress, at least.
He knew that the other Sorcerer had caught onto his train of thought, so he began speaking out loud instead of keeping his thoughts in his head.
"But it's out of the norm, isn't it? For Rock Trolls? Maybe a loose Golem or even a Lamia. Goodness that would be horrible to deal with."

"It is..." Twilight agreed, looking to Gale. If it's a golem, we have more of a problem with its size. If it's a Lamia, I wouldn't even feel comfortable keeping the apprentices here quite honestly." She sighed.
((Sorry, it's been a long week, finally have free time.))

(No problem. smile )
Gale looked over at Amaya protectively, thinking of what he knew the half-snakes half-women could do to a person, and had to say he agreed with Twilight. There was no reason to put them in that much danger, they meant too much.
"I agree. But, we'll find out what's going on soon enough." As soon as the day waned there would be little stopping them from searching out clues and solving the village's problems.

Twilight nodded, also glancing at the apprentices as she thought of the last time she'd faced a Lamia. "When night falls, it will be a little easier to look around and figure out what the real cause is. I do at least know that the murders happened sometime in the night. I'd say we should let the apprentices look together, but since we aren't sure what it is, we should perhaps stick together and let them learn that way." She told Gale as she yawned slightly.
