Mini-RP - Johto Badge Run (Sub)

"Of course! I would have sent Scyther out first actually but Ariados insisted. She can be pretty grumpy when she doesn't get to battle when she wants" he laughed nervously.

Drapion had put up a good fight, but with his mantis in play, Bugsy felt neigh invincible. The scorpion decided to leave a nasty gift behind which may be problematic. It would have to be dealt with sooner, rather than later.

"Let's end it with X-Scissor!"

Scyther, who was behind Legrande, flew at the giant's back and swung the blades in an 'X' pattern. Bugsy was curious what the challenger's next pokemon would be, figuring it would be one strong against bugs.

"I'm sad to see your Drapion go. Despite his typing, he'll always be a bug type in my book..." Bugsy sighed.

The leader seemed to be mourning for the scorpion but perked right back up when Sub complimented his Scyther.

"Really? You think so? Cause me and Scyther study and train everyday. She likes to fly around the tree and through the branches for good maneuver training, so she's pretty evasive too. Oh! And her blades are pretty sharp from trimming the branches, as that's how Scyther sharpen their blades."

Scyther would quickly swipe at the air, showing off just how fast it could move those blades. Sub's next pokemon didn't make Bugsy falter, until it used Stealth Rock. The area traps were making him feel a little nervous and the thought of more rock moves was worrying. Oh wait, he had an idea after all!

"Scyther, U-turn!"

The mantis nodded and darted toward Bisharp with a single blade pointed forward. It was aimed at the toy soldier's chest, the only spot that looked like it would hurt if hit.

Success! Scyther returned to her pokeball and was swapped out for Bugsy's Forretress. Thanks to its steel typing, it avoiding getting poisoned but still took damage from Stealth Rock. The bagworm flinched in pain but quickly changed its look to one prepared for battle.

"Quick, Rapid Spin!" the gym leader instructed.

Forretress began rotating, destroying the field effects that Sub had laid down. The spinning metal ball proceeded to launch itself at Bisharp.

Struck by Revege, the steel pod was knocked back a good distance from Bisharp. Even so, Forretress was surprisingly standing strong, well figuratively speaking. It made Bugsy well up with pride at his pokemon's defense.

"It's going to take more than that to puncture Forretress. As a matter of fact, Forretress' shell is as hard as steel and conceals their insides from the outside world. The only time it exposes itself is to eat but even then, they do it too quickly for anyone to see. Guess we'll never know, huh?"

The bagworm looked at Bugsy, awaiting further instruction. He only realized it once he finished his rambling.

"Oh right! Forretress, cover the ground in Spikes."

Closing up its shell, it proceeded to fire glowing spears that disappeared as they covered the ground.

Bugsy looked at Sub confused, believing he heard the challenger say something but couldn't make it out.

"Certificate? Well its a proven fact, proven in the way Forretress can take nearly any-"

The gym leader stopped mid-sentence as he watches the Bisharp use Swords Dance. That definitely would prove to make things a bit easier for them...however he had something to counter that too.

"Sorry, but that won't work for you. Forretress, Iron Defense."

Twisting its top half, the pod would shut close hiding its only visible innards with the exception of its spikes. It would then glow and shimmer with a silver energy as its body took on the look of metal.

"You won't be doing that again. Taunt, Allan." Sub commanded.

Allan would stand firm and stretch a single arm out straight and make a 'bring it on' gesture with said hand.

The simple gesture filled Forretress with an indescribable rage. Bugsy would have to adapt his strategy now until the Taunt wore off.

"Very well. Forretress use Bug Bite on Bisharp's hand!"

It was an odd command to give but there weren't too many spots to bite a pokemon covered in blades.

"Sharp!" Allan shouted in pain as the bag worm clamped down on its hand, the weight of the Pokemon causing the Bisharp to fall down to one knee.

"It's time for another heaping helping of...Revenge!" Sub commanded. Bisharp would obey the command by slamming a Fighting chi empowered punch square between what it assumed to be the Pokemon's eyes.

"Quick, hold on and use Rapid Spin!" Bugsy called out.
"Forr!"

The bagworm began spinning, the sudden rotation being used to alter the course of Bisharp's attack. It still managed to get hit in the face a little, the Bisharp's reflexes much faster than its own. But now, the bladed pokemon would be dragged along the ground until the speed lifted him off the ground. On the gym leader's command, Forretress would release to send it flying through the gym.
