bloodlust_angelkel This guy I have a crush on is 3 years older than me I think I like older guys just because they're more mature and way cooler and experienced to talk to I find that very untrue. I'm not very old, but I can bet you my life, that I am more mature. first off, don't flame me, the word that comes to mind is pervert. Okay, your my grandpa's age and your with a ninteen year old, I find that immoral and just utterly wrong. I don't have anything more to say. 'cept that 0-20 years is okay, but closer to 40..No! Edit: This is my personal veiw, you flame me for it and I will kill you.

Can you clarify why you think it is immoral or perverted? What are they doing wrong? Exactly what law of the universe are they breaking?

CleverScreenname Well, you sound like a 19 year old, so why not? I think the thing is, the age difference is like a ratio. Take a four year difference. If a 13 year old was going out with a 17 year old, it would seem really weird. Because even though you're still maturing at age 17, you know a lot more about the world and life than a 13 year old does, so it seems like an odd match. However, when an 18 year old dates a 22 year old, it's still a big difference but it doesn't seem like as much. Why? Well, the ratio gets smaller. 18/22 is a smaller number than 4/8, despite the fact that the difference between the two numbers is the same. That's why it's so shocking to hear about a 13 year old dating a 17 year old, but not as much for 18 and 22. There's also the simple fact that as you grow older, you mature at a slower rate. You learn less and less as you grow older and eventually, the difference in maturity between a 30 year old and a 40 year old doesn't seem as large as a 20 year old and a 30 year old. a very good point like you said the difference between a 44 and a 40 is normal but a 13 and 17 is a little akward. but I degress you only live once so live the way you want and don't let others influcence your veiws

To me age is just a number. So I'm happy for you. But I agree with Cleverscreenname. I used to like this guy who was 17 and I 14. Some people found that odd considering how that sounds, but if you really think about it, it's only 3 years. I guess it's human nature to think that 14 and 17 just sounds wrong. My parents are at least 11 years apart and that's okay, but a 14 year old and 17 year old is wrong?
It makes no sence to me. I believe that if you truly are in love with that person, or maybe even not in love, that you should take chances regardless of age,sex,religion and all that other bobo stuff. If it works than it works, and if it doesn't than it doesn't. mrgreen

The only "problem" I find errr...., problematic with partners having a massive age gap is society. Logically, there is absolutely nothing wrong with following your emotions and forming an attachment with someone or something, no matter the age.
Of course, I perfectly understand why. Due to the large age gap, someone in the relationship is bound to die far earlier than the other individual. That brings a lot of sorrow to the living.
However, I do not believe in persecuting or harassing those who choose to follow such a path. As long as they are prepared to face the consequences and bear all "catches" in it that is.

If you're old enough to make choices like that, who's to say that your choices are somehow "bad" or "wrong"? You don't generally get to pick who you're gonna fall in love with. I didn't, and I know that she didn't either. You get talking with someone, and something clicks inside, and you realize that you've just been talking to someone you want to be around, period. That's it! Doesn't matter who it is, doesn't matter how old. If it works, it works. WHY NOT?? xd heart heart heart heart heart It's nice that you love each other but what happens when you have kids. Wouldn't the other kids make fun of your kid because of that. I mean your relationship isn't something really that. . . common.

I think it determins at what age the two peaple are. If you're 25 and dating a 16 year old you've got problems there. But if you're 34 and the other is 25 there's no problem with that. It all depends on what age the two peaple are. I can understand 19 and 57, it's jusr not something you see too often. Most would ay you're in a mid life crisis

Well to ease your mind i am 17 and my boyfriend is very very very much older then me. I wont put his age cause he'll hate me forever. Lets just say that its more then 10yrs older. We are very much in love, I keep him young and he keeps me in touch with reality haha. I wish you the best of luck and there is absolutely nothing wrong with the age difference biggrin

rlimbaugheib The rule is: The guy can be up to three years older and the girl can be up to one year older. That is without a doubt, the most idiotic thing I have ever heard.My mum is older then my stepdad by six years! It might your OPINION but it's not a rule.
