Voice Actor
Name: Danzik
Age: 46
Sex: Female
Sexual Orientation: She doesn’t care
Weyr: Western Weyr
Rider Rank: Wingsecond of Fire Storm Wing
Previous Rank/Craft: Tannercraft - Previously made riding gear for dragons
Physical Description: Danzik is a stocky woman with muscular arms and no curves to be spoken of. She has short black hair, dark tan skin with large wine-stain markings, and grey eyes. In fact, from a distance most would mistake her as being a man - something that time has made her take less personally.
Personality: Danzik doesn’t really have time for your crap. A once sensitive woman who worried about not being taken seriously because she looked masculine, a hearty dragon, a son, and responsibility has rounded her out to have much more to worry about than just what people think about her. While she isn’t necessarily strict, she is very curt and straight to the point. If you want to goof off or not take things seriously, it isn’t under Danzik’s watch. You want to make sure something actually gets done, put Danzik in charge of it. She’ll make sure you start when you’re supposed to, but also make sure you don’t overwork yourself past when you should be taking a break.
Positive Trait List Diligent, Responsible, Prompt
Negative Trait List Curt, Impatient, Stick-in-the-mud
History: Danzik and her father came to Western Weyr to practice their Tannercraft in making riding harnesses for the dragons. Danzik was barely 13 at the time, and young enough that dragons were spectacular to the young, overly sensitive girl. She’d wait eagerly for her chance at a dragon, having barely missed a clutching she wouldn’t have been able to stand for anyways a few years prior. As she grew older, however, the desire faded with a lack of clutches laid and Danzik more or less relented that her life was going to be outfitting dragons.

Until a clutch came. While there was no gold, there was a lot of hubub about new blood and Danzik tried to not get her hopes up too high. After all - it could be several years again before another came if she didn’t impress during this single opportunity.

To her surprise, there was a small green that was just right for her - or perhaps she was just right for it. The calm, basking nature of Eosphoth didn’t seem to care about anybody who was watching and what they thought of her and her large, awkward wings or ambling way of walking, or her squeaky honk that she greeted her mother with. She was a ridiculous mess and proud of it.

Eosphoth would eventually grow into her awkward body, and after 2 years, she rose for the first time. The first rising would be a first of a few things for Danzik who, after surprisingly not miscarrying, gave birth to a son. Between a young dragon and now a young boy, Danzik got good at taking care of things and not wasting her time.

Fortunately with a father to help, Danzik’s son, Lennik, turned out fine. As he grew out of the age needed for wrangling, however, Danzik took on a new wrangling task: Candidates.

Other: I have placed with Danzik and Lennik’s ages, Eosphoth is from the 3552.06.02 clutch at Western.

Green Eosphoth
Voice Actor

Origin of Name: Eosphorus is the Greek name for the Morning Star.

Personality: Eosphoth is a calm dragon that radiates certainty and self-assurance - things that Danzik once needed, but now the pair walk stride-in-stride with. She’s a dragon that can be trusted with small children (and large children, get over here little Candidates) and secrets (except from hers!), and will often be ready to try and give advice the best she can - even if she needs a go-between for translating from dragon-thought to human-speech. Do you need help with something? Eosphoth can reach anywhere you need her to or talk to whoever is giving you trouble!

She does need a certain kick to get started, however, and it was Danzik’s work ethic that drew Eosphoth to hers on the sands so long ago. Motivation is not Eosphoth’s strongest trait. But she’s good at keeping work and play separated - mostly. It isn’t unusual to hear the small green bugling out a song as she flies over the Weyr.

Adult Size: 23'
Physical Attributes: Eosphoth is not a particularly muscular dragon, and in fact between a long neck and a long tail, she appears to be slim and delicate. Her light, slim body, paired with wings large enough that she almost can't fold them to her sides, make her quite a high flier. Eosphoth has no problem getting into the air and sailing high in barely any time.

Additional Notes: Eosphoth does not rise often, but when she does it is not a short affair - she enjoys being chased immensely, mostly for the thrill of seeing who can keep up with her in the air.

Quote:

There was no Gold on the sands - that alone had deterred most girls from daring to stand. What was the point of being a rider if you weren't on the back of an impressive Queen? Certainly, compared to some other Weyrs, there were still more girls standing despite that. Danzik twisted a lock of hair between her fingers as she looked over the sands anxiously. There were still three eggs that remained unhatched, and more than one brown had stopped to look her up and down curiously.

They think she's a boy, she'd heard more than one candidate whisper, some snickering to themselves. Of course they did. Her, with her broad shoulders, strong arms, an box-like body. Still, it was disheartening to think that even a Dragon would see her and think that. But it wasn't the reason her chest hurt - instead it was the trail of blood that dripped down through the clawed-slice in her robe. An eager bronze - now happily sitting with theirs at the table - and her had met perhaps too suddenly, but despite what tending it had needed, she'd needed to prove that she was made of tougher stuff than the much burlier young man who was currently sat off to the side.

Another egg cracked open and a charming blue rolled out onto the sands, much to the appreciation of everybody on the sands. It didn't even look her way, and in a sense, Danzik was grateful for the lack of attention. If another 'boy's' dragon looked her way, she wasn't sure if she would be ready to listen to the commentary.

The second to last egg was another little blue who quickly followed after his brother, again not even looking her way. Perhaps it was for the best. Danzik was beginning to think that perhaps this Clutch wasn't meant for someone like her - who apparently even made dragons question if she was a girl or not. Her with her stinky hands from tanning skins to make leather from. She idly lifted a hand to sniff the mess of fluids that still lingered days after being cleaned off. It was almost the same color as the dark marking that splotched her face.

The last egg rolled onto it's side with a small thump, wiggling eagerly. All eyes remained on it. Even Danzik found herself staring at it as the first crack formed across the surface. Then another. The side of the egg soon pulled away and a small green head poked out of it, keeling as she struggled to pull herself out. It was soon obvious where her struggle came from. Despite a small, delicate body, with a long beautiful tail that would make her look long and lean as a grown up....the small darling's wings were so large she struggled to keep them folded up against her body.

The boy next to Danzik laughed and she nearly reeled on him to sock him in the face. She'd really had enough of him from his snide commentary throughout the hatching of this clutch.

It does not matter. Danzik froze as a voice almost as delicate as snow entered her head and she found herself looking back to the green, who simply unfurled her wings, stretching them out as she walked across the sands without a care in the world. They would be great for rising up in the air someday, Danzik could already see how high this little green - last of her siblings and seeming unbothered by the fact that she'd waited, ending off the eager waiting on what some could consider a poor note - would fly.

She walked with such purpose and readiness, pausing at every candidate thoughtfully with almost a 'Hmmmm' posture. No, no. They are all lovely, they will all make wonderful riders, but they are not Mine. The green's head lifted slightly, and Danzik found herself almost charmed by how dainty and lady like she was being despite the fact she could have been considered awkward.

The thought barely passed through her mind when the Green's head whipped towards her.

Ah. There you are. She folded her overly large wings against her sides as she crossed the sands, one dainty step at a time and not even passing another look towards the other candidates as she made her way towards Danzik. She didn't even dare look away as eyes, swirling with rainbows looked up at her. The only ones who are allowed to say we are awkward or unright are us, Danzik. Tell me, is there any Queen or Queenrider who will fly higher than the two of us? It was like a knock in the face as Danzik sunk to her knees, gently cupping the dragonet's head between her palms as she felt herself sinking into those eyes. You will soar through the sky with your Eosphoth, DanzikMine, and what we lack for in appearance, we will make up for in presence. They will all notice - and for the right reasons.

The soft voice was soothing and Danzik found herself pulling the little, perfect, delicate green into her chest. Of course. Of course It was hard to not push her thoughts back into the mind of the tiny green, even as she pulled away. The hunger was obvious and Danzik needed to tend to the needs of a most precious tiny dragon.

Though she didn't miss that Eosphoth shot a red-eyed glance at the male candidate next to her as they made their way over to the table. It would be a most lovely pair.

Quote:

Unplanned, but not unwanted. Danzik gingerly held the squealing infant in her arms as she rested back in her bed, smoothing a hand lovingly over his head. "You've got quite the lungs on you, little one." as she spoke, Eosphoth leaned her neck in the look curiously at the child in her bonded's arms, trilling sweetly. He's so little, mine! I was never that small. Do all humans start so small? Were you this small once? the inquiries were innocent, but Danzik just smiled. "You'd have to ask my father, I don't remember being this small ever but...I had to have been, right?" Danren, gentle voiced, gentle hearted, would have had all sorts of stories to tell about his broad shouldered daughter, after all.

But he'd gone to fetch something for her after the delightful task of helping deliver his grandson into the world, so for now, it was only the three of them; a boy, his mother, and her dragon.

When will he tell us his name? Eosphoth inquired and Danzik laughed again. "He told me his before he was born, sweet one. He won't be able to tell either of us anything for a long while now. Not until his body has adapted to being on it's own." she explained. It was easier than explaining that humans named each other. Eosphoth would have found it odd. Oh! He told you? What is it?

"Lennik. His name is Lennik." and he would hold a space in her heart that no dragon was capable of filling.
