Dharmath was having his wings get caught by the wind and struggling to stay in place. On top of that the wind is whipping Thread into their path and his broad wings are unable to avoid all of it.

Dharmath was feeling good and wanted to encourage those around him. They could do this. This was what they had trained for. Maybe his rider's speech giving was rubbing off on him.

I bit my tongue. Dharmath sulked. Sulking won't help. P'kav responded distracted while tracking thread falling. Dharmath knew this but it was undignified and it hurt. Gazing at his fellow wingmates he took strength and encouragement from them and continued on.

P'kav and Dharmath were busy flaming a clump of stubborn thread when one of their wingmates came out at an odd angle and instead of getting the clump they were aiming for they got P'kav and Dharmath...

1. It's bad. Very bad. In fact, coming back into the fray, your realize your dragon slips unconscious from the pain and falls from place! This is an automatic KO. Your dragon is going to need some major healing. They will not return to the fight. This roll can also be a death roll if you wish it, with neither rider or dragon coming out of Between or the dragon perishing later.
Dharmath screamed as the flame hit him in the side neck and face, forcing some of his own flame back down his throat. The flames licked around towards P’kav and burned the man’s hands. He gave the directions to go between through a fog of his own pain and the shared pain of his dragons. The cold of between would be the only thing to stop this. They blinked out of sight. But as the time came when they would have returned, they didn’t anywhere near by. They didn’t return at the healers area either though. Dharmath and P’kav had died between. It would never be certain if P’kav had missed the coordinates, if Dharmath had slipped unconscious while between, or if death had come immediately. All the those that remained would know is that they just never returned at all.

Suddenly, Keziath became aware that there was a huge sheet of thread veering right toward a wingmate. She bugled in alarm, hopping between and Sabina's insistence so that she could flame it out of the sky - only to find that the thread had shifted position and now her flame had caught Dharmath's rider instead! Keziath keened in alarm, just barely righting herself in time to blink back between, saving herself and Sabina... but where were Dharmath and P'kav?
