K'ent of green Cyxiiryniadrith
"Now what brings you all the way to my neck of the woulds?" A gentle smile full of teeth. A soft tone full of delighted knowing. Cyxiiryniadrith rushed Iskernyk with complete adoration. Oh how good it is to see you again darling! You will play something for us later? You know how fond I am of it. The unspoken fond of you wreathed in her words. Complete heart eyes, the loving doting fool.
He nudged Isk to seats - keeping room for anyone who might wish to join them. "Before all the good ones are taken, yes?" K'ent slid himself beside of Iskernyk, closer than anyone but Isk would tolerate. Cyxiiryniadrith would not let him sit anywhere but there beside him - with all that running chatter of where to sit, and look how lovely it was Iskernyk was here. K'ent humored his lovely green a mental short. As if he needed her assistance He made himself comfortable pressing flush and stretching his long legs out. "Something of a brother you penned to me last - now do indulge me while we wait. Did you add a black eye to your collection since last…"
=== B'jor of brown Mesikath
Like a small mountain, B'jor took up more seats then he really ought to. His walking stick half draped across his lap. His arm curled around Nonami'sshoulders. He nudged his half shaved head against Nonami's ruffling their hair with a quiet laugh. "Anytime now right?" His Mesikath had been a bloody one from the shell - he internally wished these sweet little jewels a more positive Hatching Day. His eyes scanned the rocking eggs from the stands squinting to see just a little bit better. "Your sister has got to be awfully excited."
Mesikath crooned from beside Negoncath, his small wings furling. He wasn't a dragon for excitement, or festivities really… butt he couldn't help the small curl thrilling through them. New young for Western, new dragons for their wings. New sweet, cute little baby faces to smile at. He lulled his head towards the striped little green, to look at her with his seeing eye. Comforted by her presence on his blindside. Perhaps that swirled one will hatch first?

Nadry and Brown Menankith
It felt quite strange to be at a Weyr not their own, and also a little like cheating, having a day of free time that didn't involve the twins, but they were much to yoing to attend Hatchings. But this was for family, too: it was the first time since Rykin had been Searched that they'd actually been able to come and watch, since circumstances had prevented it before, and with Oranie and Elibrie having decided to participate in the swap, there were two more reasons to attend. She was worried for them, of course, knowing well how dangerous Standing could be, but she was eager for them to have this chance as well. She'd worry after them if they Impressed of course, away from High Reaches, but if they found Theirs, that was all that mattered. Though she never pried any further than they were comfortable with, she knew that the transition to Weyr life had been a struggle in some ways, having gone through it herself. Nadry wanted badly for dragons to find her nieces, hoping Impression could do for them what it had done for her.
Menankith nestled himself in with his loves to watch, and to peer curiously at everything. There was so much to see! He'd heard much about Western, but this was his first visit, and he was fascinated. Not that he'd forgotten why they were here - he let his mind brush gently against Oranie's and Elibrie's, a quiet touch of encouragement for the girls.
Uta obvs not expecting reply, just setting them down to watch!
Mr Cheri obvs not expecting reply, just setting them down to watch!

Phryana of Kleoth
Kleoth rumbled happily, so very pleased to see her dear friend once more. Have you been well? You look splendid! And she always would, no matter what!
The golden queen settled a bit more comfortably, not even thinking for a moment that Ana might not welcome her presence there. Isn't it though? The little darlings. Esurienth's have already gotten so big...! It amazed her, really. She'd been one of those small dragons once--but that seemed like so long ago now... not like these babies!
Oh, look at them! She started intently at the sands, unable to help her delight as the eggs began to move.
--
Baihath
Oh, yes! He remembered keenly how it felt to be stuck within his shell, unable to break free! Hyper-aware that he needed to behave himself, Baihath couldn't help but wiggle with the eggs, chirping with glee. It was awfully tempting to flop into the sands too... but maybe that wouldn't be the best thing to do right then. Brancath's feeling would be returned tenfold, for the white dragon was nearly giddy with happiness.
--
Ollanmar
"That could be, too." A dramatic finale? His eyes lit up with excitement as some of the eggs began to move--and Yellow Swirl even tipped over. Oh man, they were trying their best! "Guess you might be right!" He said as Butterfly rocked, though he was too excited to be put out about being wrong.

[ candidate lyfrocier ] - he/him - western
Shards, Shells, and everything else--it was time. Was he ready? Did he have everything he needed? A quick triple-check confirmed that yes, he did, even if there was still a slight nagging fear that he might not be prepared in the right way. Truly, he'd find out soon enough. The Sands were blisteringly hot, walls of hot air buffeting his face as he stood in line with the rest of the Candidates. Lyfrocier had wound up in the middle of the line, reassuring himself that it was a safe enough placement in spite of the rumors he'd heard; sure, it would have been easier to break rank if needed from the edges, but he'd just have to stand firm where he was. Lyf did not intend to show his nerves so easily, and fleeing the line would do just that.
He took a deep breath, letting it out slowly as he scanned the eggs for any signs of movement. Outwardly, he showed no signs of distress, his gaze as level and unflappable as always. Lyf wanted to make the best first impression he could, and the unspoken thrill of excitement that quickened his heartbeat was doing plenty to drive him. If this was his one shot, he wanted it to be a good one--that way, he could tell himself that he'd done everything he could, and that was that. Calm. Just be calm. he thought to himself, lightly rolling his shoulders to get comfortable while he waited. This is the final stretch.
[ candidate alisaide ] - they/he - high reaches
They knew Marine and Freckle were fretting over them back home, what with them being so far away this time--Alisaide could feel it, sending the two flits reassuring waves through their bond as they fell into line with the rest of the Candidates. The Blues would be there for them at the end of the night no matter what, and Alisaide couldn't wait to tell them all about what happened at this Hatching; first and foremost, though, they had a Hatching to attend! A quick check through the Candidates they could see revealed a few familiar faces in the sea of people, and Alisaide was glad to spot them. There were a few out of the High Reaches group that hadn't elected to take part in the Candidate swap, and Alisaide made a quick note to try and catch them up too at the end of it all.
They were ready, though, and they were here--let the Hatching begin!

Rundanrul - Western
More and more people walked onto the sands, but Rundanrul was focused on nothing but the eggs. He'd done this a few times now and he hoped this one might bring him a bit more luck than the others had, but he knew his odds were slim. While the clutch was a good size, there were so many Candidates it was a wonder how the babies would find Theirs in a timely fashion. Ah well...hopefully if his was among those waiting to break free they'd be quick about it.
Movement caught his eye and Run stood a bit straighter, eyes locked onto the Teal Glow Egg. Oh...wow, it was really rocking. And then Butterfly, and then Yellow Swirl-
---
Surel - Western
Seeing Etansi jerk in response to her greeting made Surel's face flush a bit, embarrassment flooding her system. She hadn't meant to startle the other Candidate, specially not here on the sands! But Etansi recovered and considered her statement and question. She nodded emphatically when Etansi mentioned it was nerve-wracking, completely agreeing with that statement. With the way Hatchings could go there was no telling what might happen!
The arrival of Dystzha drew another smile from Surel who gave a nod to her, but before she could say anything else there was movement. Turning her head, she gave a little gasp as Yellow Swirl put on quite the show, spinning and flopping right over. Oh, how cute! She tried very, very hard not to make a sound but a quiet 'eeeeeeeee!' of delight escaped her.
"It's starting!"
---
Vimeran - High Reaches
Had he been the type to worry, Vimeran would have been doing so. Worrying was too taxing and he had to focus, though, so the lack of Niviora went mostly unnoticed. It wasn't until he caught a familiar shock of red hair that he glanced towards the entrance to the sands and his usually grim expression soured even more. The nickname was bad enough, but-
"Are you limping? What the shells did you?" Yes, she was limping. He hadn't been gone that long, she knew the hatching was quickly approaching. "It had better be a good reason."
No sooner had he spoke than the eggs began to move. He glanced away from Niviora to watch, giving a little huff of amusement at how much the personalities were already showing through.
---
T'sar of Brown Adarith
After disembarking from Adarith's back and letting the brown find a spot among the other dragons high above the sands, T'sar shuffled his way through the crowded stands to try to find a place to sit. He tossed his head to let his hair settle out of his eyes which darted through the stands, looking for an open spot. The first one he spotted was, quite serendipitous, beside an old friend. A small smirk curled his lip when he saw who was seated next to him and, without hesitation, he made his way up to the duo.
"Fancy seeing you here, Iskernyk. K'ent," he added, pale green eyes flicking to his fellow rider as he sat gracefully in the spot beside Iskernyk.

Oreune
Finn's sudden presence at her side prompted the teen to bite back a yelp (no yelling on the sands!!), though somehow Oreune managed to keep a pokerface while looking out at the eggs that had started to shake. Three of them, one of them the egg she maybe thought had a tantrum? But no, no thinking on that - wouldn't that just bring in the bad thoughts? Faranth, why was she skipping around just focus on the eggs. And conversation, she knew how to multi-task shard it. "Yeh, but I'm not really the best person to ask about passage of time, yanno? I can barely keep my days of the sevenday together as it is."
Which was true, all of this had gone so fast and so slow all at once, it was like Oreune simply blinked her way from the touching to the hatching. "That one egg looks like it's dancing. Pretty cool." Conversations when you were paranoid but trying not to act it and think it were hard.
Yura and Bronze Nevidenth
Having sent his dragon off to go be with his parents, wherever they might be, Yura took a seat in the stands to watch a hatching. He couldn't see his sister nor her dragon either, not that Yura was particularly looking for her - the teen had a nagging feeling Aryale was set on someone and he didn't need to be a fly in the poultice as it were. Maybe he should have went with Nevidenth after all?
Nah, you're fine and safe where you're at! Make sure to talk to your friends from here!! I'm gonna be with the Twins and keep them company. The bronze's peppy voice cut through like a ray of light, and Yura sighed.
There was no use dwelling on it and he was about to turn and look again for Aryale when someone sat down next to him. He tried to place the face - he had to know it - and suddenly his eyes lit up. "....S..Sorsha?" Of course he knew her, and knew of her. "Err, I mean, goldrider Sorsha."

Savindri - he/him
The heat from the Sands didn't bother Savindri at all, at least not enough to shun physical contact (there honestly wasn't a lot that would have). He would happily continuebto lean unless otherwise told not to. "Right? It feels like forever until they're ready! Not as long as it feels for them, though, I bet. Can you imagine? Stuck in a shell all that time?"
That had to get awfully cramped, and very likely boring.
Nashwa - she/her
Though her focus was primarily on the eggs, as it should be, Nashwa didn't fail to notice a certain look from a certain someone, and as she did enjoy company - even if it was very much not the point of what they were doing here today - she made her way over to where Amahno stood with Rahimar.
"Fine day for a Hatching," she noted, polite but amiable. Her gaze, however, remained on the eggs, a few of which were starting to move with varying degrees of enthusiasm.
Elibrie - she/her
Elibrie reached for her sister's hand and gripped it tightly, leaning into Oranie. At least they had each other - for now. She'd not been able to help imagining that Oranie and Juhvek would Impress, and she'd have to return to High Reaches alone, more lost than ever, but she also couldn't say she hoped they wouldn't Impress. In her eyes, if anyone deserved dragons, they did.
As to whether or not she was ready... "Not really, but it's happening either way."

Trude -- she/her, Western
The eggs suddenly started wiggling, and Trude's heart went into her throat. This was it! They were going to hatch! Which one would be first -- the teal egg, the yellow egg with the swirls, or the one with the pink pattern on it? Or would it be one of the others, bursting out of their shell and surprising everyone? She gently bounced on her toes and closed her eyes, focusing on the welcoming thoughts, and hoped she could contain her excitement.
~~~~~~ Tyanan -- he/him, Western
Out of the corner of his eye Tyanan saw some of the eggs begin to wiggle with enthusiasm, and he couldn't help but smile. He remembered communicating with a couple of them, and they had left him with a warm, positive feeling about this Hatching. Allowing himself to fall back into the humming of the dragons, he concentrated on happy, welcoming thoughts as he watched the eggs. Dare he hope that one was the one meant for him?
~~~~~~ Ansirien -- he/him, Western
It never failed to surprise Ansirien when the eggs started moving and wiggling, the being within struggling to break free of their shell. Despite all the times he had Stood for clutches, it was all new and exciting. He allowed a smile to cross his lips as he watched the movement of the eggs, knowing that soon someone on the sands was going to have their life completely changed. And he harbored the hope that it would be his turn this time.

Faroe & gold Neliath With Neliath having settled herself on the ledges overlooking the Sands, Faroe had taken a seat off to the side. How she remembered what it was like, standing in front of eggs, with their dam looming nearby. Even after all these Turns, she still remembered the very Hatching she'd Impressed Neliath at--and how it had absolutely changed her life.
Her queen sent her nothing but love and affection, even as she watched from her high perch. It was always you. She assured softly, tenderly. The little queen had been quite decisive in her opinion, and though Faroe had been surprised by the choice, she had never, ever, regretted it. Seeing the Candidates, each one eager to find Theirs, only made her heart go out to them. There were many she recognized--weyrbrats she'd seen grow up from babies to fine young men and women--but there was one in particular she hoped might find His this day.
Neliath hummed a little louder in approval of such a thought, from her perch high above. But all the Candidates were worthy, regardless from where they hailed. So long as the babies walked away with a match, than both rider and dragon would be pleased.
[Open for interaction if anyone wants to hang.]
Kiri & Felisath There was a Hatching, and Felisath was torn on what to do. On the one hand, she was most curious over Khamaith's clutch... But on the other hand, the Weyr was now full of dragons of all sizes and colors. There were male dragons of all sizes and colors, and so many strangers, that the poor thing was quite unsure whether it wouldn't be better to simply stay curled upon her ledge.
Yaguareth would be there, though, and Kleoth. And babies were a joyous occasion--a feeling even Felisath couldn't deny.
Alas, Kiri had family coming from High Reaches. Her brother--a fellow green rider, at least--would be present. So with much caution, the yellow-eyed green had dropped off Hers, and found the most quiet spot she could. There would be time enough post-Hatching to catch up with others, but for now, she would remain quietly perched. She did wish to see the hatchlings... She just wanted to stay as inconspicuous as possible--especially from all the new, strange boys.
