Human exhalation of CO2 is not nearly enough to alter the percentage in the atmostphere by any noticeable amount; the mass production and use of fossil fuels over the decades is more than enough.
Automobiles operate by burning petroleum, which produces both Carbon monoxide and Carbon dioxide.

vacuum boobies I'm confused. CO2 is what we breathe out, isn't it? So we're polluting the air just by breathing??? gonk crying And I thought cars emmitted Carbon Minoxcide, not CO2??? I'm lost gonk and plus, plants use the CO2 to go through photosynthesis. They are reducing the ammount of CO2 that we breath out

Saint Dane Ruler of Halla First off. For those that dont know what global warming is. Humankind has, by way of population. deforestation, and the burning of fossil fuels has increased the amount of CO2 (carbon Dioxide) in the atmosphere, carbon dioxide is one of the green house gasses that helps to trap heat from the sun in the atmosphere. because of increased CO2 levels more and more heat is being trapped, causing the avarage temperature of the planet to rise. etc. Um... I hate to tell you this but global warming is happening on Mars too. These things happen naturally, we're not sure why as of yet, we just know they do. I hower agree to the facts that we need to cut down on deforestation and the use of fossle fuel. Luckily all over the world people are developing ways to do just that, but they are meeting opposition from governments, gas companies, and various 'interest groups'. You the people need to remain informed that there are already alternatives to gas, you just need to look for them.

I don't think anyone here has attempted to argue that global warming doesn't happen naturally, just that the speed and severity with which it is currently happening (not to mention projected to continue at) are unnatural, unreasonably dangerous, and our responsibility.

Not the case, though we are polluting the enviroment, making our air impossible to breath.

It is the case. W/ cars and burning fossil fuels we are speeding up the process.

Do you have any evidence to the contrary so that we actually have something to debate?

global warming itself is a natural process that cycles gradually. Human emissions have ACCELERATED this process, as evidenced and contrasted against the past using ice core samples in the arctic and antarctic circles.

Our government (the British) are thinking of renewable energy and how to get the country using it more often. Sadly, they're not doing anything about it. They say they have plans but they never seem to materialise. It's really annoying and the only progress I can see is on the TV, where there are a few programs on it every so often.
It's terrible. Why can't they act now, rather than later? The problem will only get worse and if it gets any worse, they will find it harder to sort out than if they had done it earlier!

That is basicly the same with the US. They signed the Montreal Prtocol, but they didnt sign the Kyoto Protocol to relaese less green house gases before 2012.

It is a little strange that no one has mentioned that the earth - and life on earth - has survived (and thrived!) through millions of years of much more severe carbon dioxide emissions. The amount of air pollutants that humans produce is just icing on the cake that forest fires and volcanoes emit. Turn back the clock a few million years and take a look at the volcanic eruptions from those eras (and the amount of carbons produced), and we hardly make a dent.
