Yay, it's awesome to find people who share the same interests in here. I never completed (nor could I remember) the myths, but most of them are really nice to read. I guess a lot of people had to read the Metamorphosis, so it's value is still appreciated at school. Well, I love the stories about the old gods, so I'm like to broaden my horizons with Germanic and Asian myths ^^

I love learning all about Greek mythology, I just ran out of books, so I picked up bagpipes instead... But I learned about the bagpipe history from some mythology, so it like a double-bonus!

I love Greek mythology. Even today, it's everywhere if you really pay attention to it! And it's so much fun if you re-interpret the stories. During our lessons, we would sometimes act out an updated version of a Greek myth. It was hilarious! I once played Hades and tripped over my long black robe ... sweatdrop

I'm just a total nut about mythology. I love reading the stories of the gods from other religions. It's so fascinating and helps for roleplays.

heart heart heart heart heart heart heart heart heart heart heart heart heart heart heart Oh my Zeus, I love geeky greeky mythology!!! Ever since I was a kid, I was fascinated with the gods, and the heroes, and the myths. I even love the genealogy of the greek gods and heroes (yeah, I'm a total geek, but that's ok, cause I'm an enlightened and happy one!) And after greek mythology, I got interested in norse, celtic, egyptian, asian, you name it mythology. So if you as g(r)eeky as I am, here are a couple of sources on the internet: - Encyclopedia Mythica (http://www.pantheon.org) - Bulfinch's Mythology: The Age of Fable or Stories of Gods and Heroes (http://www.mythome.org/bullfinc.htm) - it's actually a book written in the 19th century, and it's a compilation of myths and legends - I've read it and if you realy like the theme then it's worth the effort, or you can always read the chapters that interest you the most.

greek mythology. oh you have defiantly touched on something I love.
My favorite is Aris or Ares.
Ares is the son of Zeus and Hera. He was disliked by both parents. He is the god of war. He is considered murderous and bloodstained but, also a coward. When caught in an act of adultery with Aphrodite her husband Hephaestus is able publically ridicule him. His bird is the vulture. His animal is the dog.
Olympian Gods Zeus, Poseidon, Hades, Hestia, Hera, Aris, Athena, Apollo, Aphrodite, Hermes, Artemis, Hephaestus
Titans Gaea, Uranus, Cronus, Rhea, Oceanus, Tethys, Hyperion, Mnemosyne, Themis, Iapetus, Coeus, Crius, Phoebe, Thea, Prometheus, Epimetheus, Atlas, Metis
Creatures Cyclopes, Hecatoncheires, Giants, Ash Tree Nymphs, Typhoeus, Cerberus, Sirens, Centaur, Medusa, Argus Panoptes, Chimaera, Echidna, Gorgons, Pegasus, Chrysaor
Heroes Perseus, Theseus, Bellerophon, Atlanta, Heracles, Meleager

Just when I was considering leaving the guild... I find this thread :O
I love Greek mythology, and Norse too. I like Egyptian mythology, but I don't know nearly as much about it as Greek. I've read a few stories about Norse mythology, but the names blend too much in my mind... sweatdrop
(By the way, I read the poll wrong. I thought it was a question about me, so I answered the "geek" response. sweatdrop )

I love Greek mythology as well.
The variety and creativity is outstanding and the randomness is just crazy. I love it all. Is there a Greek RP thread...? (I am new here so I wouldn't know, yet.) There should be one, theres seems to be a few people that would join, right?

Good Mythology books. Well there is the old stand by from Bullfinch, then on a lighter side there is The Everything Greek Mythology- by the guys and girls who bring you The Everything you need to know books... Sorry I like all mythology I can get my grubby little hands on. And nobody's a geek for liking mythology of any sort. +)

I love greek mythology! I'm always trying to learn more and more bits of that canon. Actually, it's really fascinating how different mythologies all parallel eachother in theme and content. It's kind of childish, but my favorite gods are Artemis, Hermes, and Dionysus. <3
