... if you say my name in chat it makes my computer go ding. If I am at home and not sleeping, I will usually bring the window into focus and chat for a bit. I usually am doing other things in other windows.

So, I just moved on campus and my IRC is blocked. And they use Cisco clean access, how do I get around it? Anyone know?

ooo ouch. That means they're blocking access on port 6667.

I'd say... Use Firefox and change the proxy settings, see if that works, but Cisco is a VPN and they tend to be relatively airticht. Maybe talk to your IT folks.
