Damien stepped outside and welcomed the sun on his pale while skin. It seemed like forever that they were stuck boarded up indoors. The city didn't look too shaken, as many of the buildings were made of stone and concrete. He did notice some of the damage though, especially with the windows. He then remembered that he was going to see Shadow once more.

Jian was in his room, making the final preparations. Their helicopter had just arrived and their luggage was being loaded.
Shadow looked out the window, seeing Damien outside. She slipped out behind him with her arms clasped behind her back. "I hope you weren't thinking about leaving without saying goodbye." Shadow began, hoping to startle him.

Damien heard a voice and turned in its direction quickly. "Ah, Shadow. There you are" he replied. He did surprise her, but he wasn't going to let her know. "I said I'd say goodbye before I left, didn't I?"

"I know. I just didn't think you'd find me now that I'm up and about." She lied. "... I guess sunny days are nice too..." She told him, turning to look towards the garden.

"Yes, they are. Too bad all the destruction caused by the storm kind of ruins the scenery" Damien replied. "Well, our helicopter should be arriving soon. We'll probably wait for the crowd to leave. Wouldn't want to get caught up in all that air traffic"

"That's true..." She replied. "I'll practically healed right now. I'll probably see you soon. It's a little strange, but I feel like this is... one of those moments in the movies where the hero and heroine depart for a very long time, or have one of those 'life will never be the same' motifs. There is always this sort of stillness. Then something always tragic happens..." She sighed then let out a little chuckle. "So, what will you do when you head back?"

"Well, first I will get caught up on what was going on during my absence, then check with a certain confidante on who was remaining loyal and hoping the Chief General and I would make it back safely, and who was hoping that we'd be lost in the storm so that they could take power" Damien replied. He also planned on sending in a secret squad after Bishop Gilles and his cronies, unless Mt. Angelo deals with him first. However, even if he is pardoned by the Grand Priestess, Damien would make sure he and his hired goons were punished.

"What plotting face?" Damien asked, trying to pretend that he wasn't thinking of anything. "What are you talking about?"

"Alright. Well, fine then" Damien replied. He then leaned in closer to Shadow and whispered. "I'm going to make sure that Bishop Gilles gets punished for his actions, if Mt. Angelo doesn't do it, or if I think they're not being severe enough. The Grand Priestess might be forgiving, but I'm not. This goes for his cronies too."

"... You do realize the priestess isn't in charge of criminal justice, correct? It's the council. The religious head is considered too compassionate to give proper justice, so it's always been that way. But in this case, they'll probably blame the mercenaries they hired while the bishops are freed without a second glance." She whispered back. "Even if the priestess herself is a witness, they'd just say she was mistaken. I'd say that at least two thirds of the entire council was in on it. It's enough to make my blood boil..."

"I see. Well then, I'll have to reformulate my plan. I'm not about to let them get away with it, but I'm not about to cause an international incident" Damien replied. He then stretched. "Well, I suppose I should be heading back to see how the Chief General is doing."

"An international incident huh..." Shadow muttered. "Like how so many died tonight when the priestess's guards should have been watching. Yet somehow one of the greatest groups of personal soldiers couldn't protect those people, and some of them even lost their lives. It's as if the guard was too light. Did I also mention that Blackrose was there out of the blue, and the priestess defended him. That's what people will say. Not only that, but she ordered three of her bishops to be arrested, and the council pardoned them due to lack of evidence. Doesn't that sound a little suspicious? I'm sure that's what most of them will be thinking. What you know they'll be thinking. Some may even think she planned the whole thing to remove some threats in power, when it's actually the opposite." Shadow said. "This place's politics are very irritating and convoluted. But if I were you, I'd do something before you become a pawn. You can't ignore the fact that it's your land they're after and you they ultimately want to get rid of. Besides, you got your queen piece standing right here." She said, not looking at him.

"I see. Well, watch your back. They may want to take you out too if they find out about your 'occupation'" Damien said. What Shadow said was true, though. Right now he was on their territory. He had to get back to his own and figure out how to manipulate those who want to use him. "For now, I guess I must return and let this issue blow over, or find a way to use it to my advantage. I'm sure you'll be doing the same thing for yourself" the Absolute Leader quipped, then held out a white gloved hand to Shadow to shake.
