Alya - Western
Strong arms suddenly wrapped around her slight form, and Alya gave a soft scream of surprise when her feet were left from the ground. They hit the ground with a thump, and temporarily, she found herself winded. Her hands were curled against Rio's front, gripping at his robe quietly. He'd saved her. At risk of hurting himself. She stared up at his face with wide eyes, her heart still pounding from the adrenaline.... and maybe something more?
And then she heard her name.
Who was that? Confused, she twisted her head....and found herself falling into eyes of whirling rainbows, surrounded by love and laughter and warmth. "Baihath," She croaked, her entire face crinkling into a smile. Small tears leaked from the corners of her eyes, trailing down her cheeks. The white gave a croon of adoration, crouching on Rio's side to lean down and lick her cheeks. No, no, no! That isn't a fun game! He laughed in her mind, waiting until she'd wrapped her arms around his tiny head before pulling her into a sitting position.
"Rio," She managed to say through a tearful smile. "Come find us?" Her voice wavered querulously on the last note, and she leaned down to kiss his cheek. Then, she allowed her beautiful white boy to lead the way to the buckets of meat, prancing all the while. Hello! You all look like you're having fun! Baihath crooned, pausing to wriggle like a feline before he pounced upon the belly-up Suhrawith.
How much fun his siblings were!

Etansi
Deep within herself, not so much thinking as simply existing in that space at that moment as something small that even she often forgot was within her cracked, the tiny girl felt the gentelest of nudges pressed against her. Blinking in a way that left her eyes still hollow, Etansi peered at the golden queen and everything in her body told her to lash out. Except for that slowly cracking spot, the one she had hidden for years and surrounded with the sharpest fragments of her broken past. Every heartbreak and loss, she’d added another blade to guard the slowly shrinking thing, every decision she made that held a negative impact it shrunk a bit even if owtwardly she showed no remorse or care. Yes, indeed it was hat spot that kept her from reacting with violence to the hatchling that came to offer her comfort despite knowing nothing about her. Whispers from that spot told her it wasn’t the gold’s fault that this was happening and that a baby should not be punished for trying to help when the cause was not theirs.
Something broke inside of her, something that she wished she could hold tighter to, but Etansi felt it break all the same and Killakeeth’s words in her mind only drove home the pain. Letting the little gold go on her way, the small teen turned and bolted for the water, not sure what to do, not sure how to repair the large crack in the armor of her anger that might let more pain in. She had built this armor to protect Erastan, and now he didn’t need it and likely never would again. Did that mean she should discard it and find another way to protect just herself?
Her feet skidded to a stop at the water’s edge, making a note that the wet sand felt cooler on her feet as she’d lost her sandals when she’d bolted. A heavy shudder ran through her thin frame and she wrapped both arms around herself as she stared out over the ocean at the water and the clouds above. She wasn’t sure what to do anymore and certainly there were none that could give her the answers that she needed or would even want to. Any that might have seen her in that moment would notice the streams rolling down her face, but they would likely be wrong about their source.
———————— Rizdax
Taking a step forward at Shar’s beckoning, though he allowed himself a quick check of where all the hatchlings were first, Rizdax was genuinely happy hat Farensil saw the little gold dragon. Even if it wasn’t hers, he could only hope that it bolstered her to have a gold sander by. They were apparently very powerful dragons, even as hatchlings they possessed some sort of resonance with others. Not that he would ever know, nor did he really care. As a man a gold wasn’t even a possibility, so he just sent her a kind thought for the sake of his friends and smiled as she impresses to the girl of her choice. A Western Candidate from the looks of it even, it was amusing to him that the metallic dragons were choosing riders from that Weyr, but they had what they were looking for! Who was he to judge their choices when he felt just as fondly for greens as he did for a bronze?
“Just wanted to give you lot some room for the little gold, she looked like she was on a mission to find hers. I’m glad she impressed, but there are still others out here that might pick us.” Riz offered by way of explanation for stepping back. He wanted his friends to have their chances to find their partners almost more than he wanted himself to. And he really, really wanted a dragon. It was his first time out here though, so he had patience and would wait for his perfect partner, should they ever want him.
Casting a glance up at the filling egg, his heart jerked a bit and he touched Nalacko’s shoulder lightly and pointed as the shell burst and out tumbled a white that instantly chose the rider it needed. Though how it bounced in excitement on the chest of another candidate made him laugh quietly to himself. If all hatchings were this smooth he would enjoy them, but Rizdax had of course heard the horror stories of maulings and death. In this moment, he was glad to be on these sands watching so many Impressions with friends. It gave him hope that despite the bad hatchings there could be times where everything went right in life.
“I don’t think we’ll have to worry about that little egg or it’s new rider for now.” Riz laughed.

[ r'ose and sahrawith ]
Wings done, R'ose had allowed his dragon to roll back how she wanted, belly up and legs almost splayed. It could not be comfortable at all, perhaps only because her wings were also splayed out, but he felt no pain in the bond they shared, nothing troublesome, and so he turned to focus on himself for a moment. He was hungry in his own right, and his skin still faintly itched, so he'd tend to that while she slept. No need for her to stress and watch him if she could be sleeping and then -
There was a sudden scream from where his dragonet had been sleeping, and R'ose turned in sudden fear to see what had caused the noise and panic. Sahrawith was awake now, waves of angry and terror (mostly anger) issuing from her as it took everything within the green's strength not to bite through the throat of her tiny, white sibling. "What the?!"
Baihath!!! GET OFF OF ME! The green rolled herself and got her tiny sibling off, her eyes whirling red-yellow before settling back down. She had not liked how she'd been awakened, and certainly the rage she felt was justified. Thankfully R'ose was quickly at her side, and he knelt down beside her and looked at the white. Why are you like this?? You're starving, aren't you? Go eat, and get taken care of. We can play after that, okay?
For his part, seeing his lifemate was calming down, R'ose looked to see just who had impressed this tiny ball of likely-to-be-kicked (not really, not ever) away from his dragon?

Rio
Whump.
Being hit by the rolling egg was not the worst thing ever, especially since he was already on the ground and it at least couldn't take his legs out from under him, but it did knock the wind out of him, which made the grin he wanted to flash at Alya a...little strained, to say the least, and not all that much of a grin. But he tried. Look, see? Everything was f-
The egg's inhabitant scrambled on top of him and bounced, and there wasn't much he could do about it but wheeze. It wasn't trying to hurt him, so it was fine really and he made no attempt to do anything about it, but...breathing became a bit of a strain, and there were maybe a couple of unintentional claw pricks, but that was fine. Everything was totally, perfectly fine, especially since the dragon bouncing on him was his friend's. He really did grin then, even as he struggled for breath and had his cheek kissed. There wasn't much he could say - really, even if he'd had the words, he didn't have the breath!
But he gasped out a "As soon as I can" and, once he was not half-squashed under a baby dragon, sat up to stare after Alya and her new bondmate, blinking tears from his eyes. All happy tears, because he was nothing but happy for her! She deserved her Baihath, and he'd finally come for her.
Hand around his ribs, mind anywhere but where he was, he nearly missrd someone from the sidelines calling out. Hmm? Oh! Looking an absolute mess of sand, mussed hair, rumbled robes with what might have been just a little bit of blood on them, he smiled and waved. "All good!"
Nothing to worry about here.

[ soui ]
Perhaps the sand had cushioned him way more than she thought? Soui had a wonderful sigh of relief as she watched the young man get up, apparently none worse the wear, and the girl had impressed the white which scampered off without injury either. It made her feel so happy, so at ease that everyone was safe and no harm had come.
"Okay, I'm glad. If you feel pain though, come over to the healers!" She shouted that back out to the boy on the sands before making her way back to where she should have been to begin with. There were still dragonets on the sand and she didn't belong anywhere near there, just in case she accidentally caused a problem. Certainly she'd made sure to apologize to everyone involved come the 'morrow.
- --- ---
[ green oyath ]
Oyath noticed movement from the candidates, one in particular, and she watched with faint amusement as the girl ran once the gold walked away. It caught her attention, as did the quick response she got from A'ye as she relayed the news. He'd told her to go and stop the girl, or get near her just in case, and while the green had zero interest she obeyed.
Anything was better than this hatching, for sure.
With a dive that ended in a proper land, the green dragon stopped in the shall waters in front of the crying figure, though she made no attempt to reach out mentally or in any other form. She'd been told to stop her and watch her, and that was the extent of what Oyath was going to do.
