Damien was returning on the train with Monica and a bunch of other Diethelmian military personnel. So far, so good. There hadn't been any attacks or sabotage so far. The trip back to the capital was going rather smoothly.

"Ma'am." One of the soldiers began as he walked over to Monica. "I just did the head count you ordered. All 55 of us returning soldiers are present." He said with a salute.

Monica pulled out a notebook and began to flip through the pages. "... you're right. There's only supposed to be 54. We have an extra." She told him.

Damien frowned. "Could be a spy or a saboteur. We'd better investigate" he said, standing up.

Monica nodded in agreement as the train came to a halt. Monica looked out the window and raised a brow. "Wow. It looks like we're here already..." She muttered. "We better check quick then."

Damien nodded and went with Monica to check and see who the mystery person was. The names of the rest of the soldiers would be on the national database.

The soldiers were already exiting the train when Monica stepped out. "Alright, everyone in formation. We're doing another head count." She called as they all moved into a mass formation. "Sound off!" she called as they began to number themselves off, ending in 54.
"Huh? That's strange. I counted twice in the train and there were 55." The soldier with the clip board assured her.
"Probably just a simple miscount." Monica huffed. "It seems there's nothing to be worried about. But still... it puts me a bit on edge."
Shadow was hiding behind a pillar in the soldier's uniform, only barely missing being spotted. 'That was close... too close...' She thought as she tried to sneak away while they were distracted.

Damien carefully inspected the group of soldiers, then saw something moving out of the corner of his eye. He saw Shadow trying to sneak away. "Halt!" he ordered, "over here now, soldier!"
