How to See is "A Guide to Reading Our Man-Made Environment". I especially liked what he had to say about buttons: George Nelson in How to See A push button is a device, unbeatable in its elegant simplicity, that opens or closes an electric circuit. It can set into motion machines of immense ower, activate a lighter, or send off an ICBM. Th ebutton is utterly neutral, does nothing but wait for the approach of a finger, and, because of the disparity between the light touch and possibly massive consequences, it has become a metaphor for modern power fantisies. Any idiot can push it. It is the communion wafer of technocratic society. Small wonder, then, that consumer products have a lot of buttons on them. The greater teh number of buttons, the more potent the user becomes, and the deeper the relief from feelings of insecurity. There may be reasons for the prodigious increase in the button population, but logic alone does not explain the fifteen buttons on a blender, since one rotary switch could do the same job. The unchallenged top product of our time is the pocket calculator, reported to have racked up sales of twenty million units. Ostensibly this is because it can add and multiply faster than its owner, but I suspect the real reason is that it is the first small product that consists of practically nothing but buttons. I apologize for such a long quote, but I just loved it too much not to share... -Tsuji

Heh... I see. Yeah, I'd understand why that book would be amusing - that quote makes the book seem worthwhile. I'll probably have to check it out if I ever get some time for actual pleasure reading.
*sigh* Martin Luther... why can't you be interesting like that quote? I swear you smashed the message "Faith - not works - determine righteousness" many many times into my head.

The book of James? As in one of the many books found in the Nag Hammadi Library? The gospels and books in said book are also in my list of "Things to Pleasure-Read."
In any case, Martin Luther does an okay job with explaining, but he repeats so many times. gonk

Ah... right, right. Sorry 'bout that. Since I started some Theology classes, I'm aware of the Book of James in the New Testament and the Apochryphon of James in the Nag Hammadi Library/The Gnostic Gospels. I'm getting those two mixed up... sweatdrop

It's possible to get Pocket Monsters to level 100 via Rare Candy I believe...
And the Nag Hammadi Library were some more books that did not make it into the Catholic/Christian canon. They were found, I believe, a little ways after the Dead Sea Scrolls were found.
They're pretty controversial, if I remember correctly, and many of the books in there were referenced in The DaVinci Code. I just want to read it because... well... knowledge I suppose.

Yeah, we just got the movie, haven't seen it though. I have read the bible, but whether or not i understood all of it is another thing. I find all the old books and ancient stuff interesting and would like to read some of this old stuff.

He's referring to the sprite that I used in my sig. Yeah, you are only supposed to be able to get them up to lv.99, but if you understand BBCode it's easy enough to change. @Lin - Ok, now I know which books you're talking about. -Tsuji
