Meigth and N'ori were feeling pretty good, all things considered, flaming eagerly and flying well. Hopefully that nagging distraction of a pained mouth would go away soon enough.

While a little encouragement from one of their wingmates went a long way towards perking Zeith back up, it almost ironically also perked up the wind....
and Zeith wasn't quite quick enough to blink Between before it blew a clump of Thread back into her and Gloryah. Hissing through the pain of the tendrils entangling with her leg, Gloryah urged Zeith Between to safety to at least clear it.

Maybe Zeith was feeling a little spicy and needed to flame up some Thread in revenge. Because she spotted it almost immediately once she and Gloryah had popped to safety and burned it down.

Right before they belch forth their flame, they suddenly jerk hard to the right, almost in a roll, and quite unexpectedly. Sure enough, a gust of wind would have whipped the thread back in their face! Instead, the strand whips by, and your dragon is able to successfully flame it. [+1 Instinct]
It wasn't like Zeith to suddenly stop pursuit, Gloryah unable to pry into why when the green jerked to the side to avoid being hit, then flamed down the offending strand of Thread.

Ouch! Feeding your dragon some firestone has resulted in them biting their tongue! This is going to distract your dragon for the next three rolls. Their flaming aim will go down, and they might be slower to dodge out of Thread's way. [Tongue Bitten Effect! Your dragon is distracted by pain. No XP will be earned for the next 3 rolls. Any successes will be nullified. Should you roll a prompt with the possibility of damage, take the max damage allotted for your size/color automatically but it will also end the Tongue Bitten Effect immediately.]
Zeith had been a little eager to chew up more stone to start flaming again - and didn't even notice she'd bitten her tongue until Gloryah pointed it out.

Zeith's eagerness was at least comforting to Gloryah, who was thankful to see her lifemate being spirited and ready to fight again.

The winds down here were treacherous, and Faloth once more found himself being blown off course -- right into a shimmering section of Thread! Bellowing out of pain and frustration, he jumped between to deaden the pain and prevent any further damage to his already Thread-ravaged hide.

Back in formation after that little course correction, Faloth continued to flame Thread easily. Spotting a stray strand, he dove for it, then suddenly veered hard to the right, nearly unseating W'ill as the brown practically performed a roll. W'ill felt a strong gust of wind once Faloth leveled out, and saw that the Thread would have scored them both in the face. "Good job, Fal!" called the young brownrider as Faloth flamed the strand in question.

Once more a stray strand of Thread got through the upper levels, and once more a gust of wind blew it right toward Faloth's head. The brown jerked away again, only this time W'ill was a little better prepared and kept his seat. Having successfully avoided getting scored again, Faloth casually flamed the errant Thread.

Faloth hopped between to find another patch of Thread to char, and when he emerged he found himself perfectly positioned to flame some. He did so easily, sending a sense of pride to W'ill. They had sorely needed the relative break of flying the low altitude, after the scoring they'd gotten before.
