Amaya only laughed and shook her head before closing her eyes to rest for a few minutes while she waited for things to cook.

"Besides, after god knows how long of my whining about my lack of practice and boasting about how awesome my band was, I think I'm long overdue about backing up my claims of talent." Adrian joked.

"True enough." Amaya said, still laying there with her eyes closed.

After a while of relaxation coupled with the stop-and-go scratching of Adrian's pencil, he closed his notebook and stretched. "Smells like food's just about ready. Who gets to make the potatoes?" he asked as he got up to help tend to the kitchen once more.

"Umm...if you could peel them for me, I'd appreciate that." Amaya said, handing him the potato peeler as she walked in behind Adrian, taking the turkey out of the oven to let it sit a minute. "Calista! Can you please set the table?" Amaya called from the kitchen, nodding once the little girl walked in, making Hazama get the plates down for her before she went to go set the table.

"Her friends don't join us for dinner I hope." Adrian muttered to Amaya while he peeled the potatoes.

"No, it's already been explained that I'm not using my powers to make dinner so she's not using her powers at the table..." Amaya muttered, taking the potatoes he had peeled and put them in a pot of boiling water.

"That's a relief; Hazama's certainly not my first choice for dinner guest." Adrian muttered back, finishing up the potatoes before going to help Calista set the table.

"No, mine either." Amaya sighed, finishing making the mashed potatoes by herself. It was easy enough, though once they were ready she pulled out the other side dishes and put them on the table. Carving the turkey was easy enough, but she did still need practice.

Adrian gave a sigh of satisfaction of a job well done once the table was all set. "Table's set; food smells delicious; I think our Christmas feast is just about ready."
((I felt so very tempted to call it the Christmahannukwanzakah feast. owo ))

((lol))
"It is." Amaya said as she brought the turkey to the table, along with a glass of wine. Taking a seat, she sighed with exhaustion and smiled tiredly to Calista and Adrian.
"Yay! Dinner time!" Calista shouted, also taking her seat as Hazama disappeared.

"You know, my parents would break out the good stuff for special occasions, but I don't think they ever got this fancy for Christmas." Adrian said, rather impressed with the spread as he took a seat.

"I try. Calista enjoys it, so I figure I can put up with it once a year." Amaya said with a small smile, handing Adrian a glass of wine as well, though if he didn't drink it, she would.
"Thanks mommy and Adrian! It looks good!" Calista giggled, already filling up her plate.

"I feel kinda bad that I didn't dress up for this. Not that I have anything remotely fancy with me." Adrian said with a small chuckle as he took the wine.

"Psh, we didn't feel like dressing up. So you're fine." Amaya told him as she took her first bite of food.
