Speeches were nice, especially when made by someone who was also in the thick of things. Ichta leaned mentally into the blue beneath her, taking comfort in his growing optimism.

We'll be fine! Then we can go see Elzebuth and His when they get back! he offered up and Ichta nodded slowly. That would definitely be a nice pick-me-up to the end of the day. Still, Ichta wouldn't deny his get-up-and-go, especially when he went diving after a clump of thread - perhaps a little too eagerly.

It came in contact with the little blue's wing and he honked in defiance before blinking Between.

The fight against their enemy was starting to take it's toll on Kinitarth. His shoulder ached, and while he was calmer now he had still allowed himself to get caught up in his anger at the weather and his injury. Flame bursts from his mouth, searing silver to grey ash. But suddenly there's a call, Thristreth's voice chasing away the nagging slowness in his head, and even his injury seems but an annoyance to the surge of energy the call had given him. His answer is a loud bugle, strong and eager to finish his wave. Thread would not defeat them!

However, with the renewed vigilance came an awareness of his rider's cough. Deep, a bit rustic. Are you okay, mine?

Sam'kel smiled, patting his dragon's neck. Kinitarth rarely ever sounded like the gentle hatching on the sands he'd been turns ago. "I'm fine. Think I breathed a bit too much from that errant flame. Onward we go!'

If your dragon isn't suffering, you are allowed to quote a fellow wingmate (must be in your same wing) who is suffering the effect! Your dragon trumpets at them encouragingly, making them feel better, and giving them a renewed burst of energy and effort. Remove Fatigue Effect from one wingmate!

Roll 1: Another gust wind blows, sending some silvery strands of Thread your way! Your dragon manages to twist their way through it with surprising and relative ease, and you're able to even flame down some of the fray! [+1 Agility // +1 Target Accuracy]
Roll 2: As you're looking for the rogue Thread, you notice one of your wingmates in danger. You and your dragon call out warning and are lucky to see the pair respond. Quote a Wingmate and have all damage removed from their most recent roll!

Ah--but who was that familiar green shape, darting among the Queens with him? G'ran saw the wind flare up just as Thanoth began to flame, and Elzebuth called out sharply. Thanoth! You aren't allowed another dramatic rescue today! Though his thoughts were teasing, there was enough sharpness there to hopefully catch his green sister's attention!

Lireloth perked his head up a bit as he heard the call from his fellow brown, taking heart from the encouraging words. He sent a trumpet and a wave of thanks towards Mharlith as Thella gave Nimueh a little wave. It wasn't long before the call came to change altitudes and fight on. Heartened by the empowering words Lireloth felt so completely encouraged all of the wounds he had taken seemed to be forgotten.

"Up, Lireloth, let's go!" Thella called, following the movement of her wing.

D'mon certainly was an inspiring fellow - though that was likely the very good reason he was Weyrleader, at least. Brieteth hummed his agreement, his mostly blue mood at least lifted a little bit.

The two blinked between as Formations changed, and the two came out practically on top of a clump of thread. Brieteth wasted no time in crumbling it to dust.

Both of them were still raring to go, but holding steady. Things were quiet, yes... and though they were eager to contribute, they carefully held formation. Elzebuth had nothing abnormal to report, and G'ran patted his neck silently. Quiet was better than the alternative... They knew that firsthand now.

Neiveth let out a bugle of agreeance with Thistreth's words as she followed suit of their wing to change formations. The low circling had been nice, but not they were up high and - Oh goodness!

This wind is bad! I don't like it! Neiveth informed G'lin in a huff. Frankly, he was glad his headgear was staying on.

As one the Wing rose, passing the dragons that were moving down to take their place and the ones that had been fighting Thread head-on. They looked hurt but like they could still fight on and hopefully the three Wings rising to take the brunt of the fight would give them a bit of a breather.

Lireloth spread his wings, catching the wind as it helped them rise upwards. Doing well, mine? he asked Thella who chuckled softly in return.

"About as fine as you, dearest. Now, let's see what this altitude will bring us." Already Thread was much heavier, falling more frequently and absolutely everywhere. It would be a challenge, but that's what Thella and Lireloth liked.

[Mid Altitude]
[1/5]

Dormith bugled along with several other dragons that had raised their voices in a 'hear hear!' for their Weyrleader (and he guessed, the rider as well) as he moved in formation, a large, dark, ominous shape amongst the smaller dragons.

With little mental warning to his rider, he suddenly blinked away, leaving a small image of the clump of thread that had nearly struck his rider's shoulder - in the same place as before. Emerging again, however, it would be the bronze himself taking the brunt of the damage, howling in anger, then blinking away again - but only for a moment.

4. A tangle of Thread manages to slip through! Though you try to get it, you're not fast enough, or aim was way off base. Though it doesn't hurt you and your dragon, you do watch as it makes it through the last line of defense, to fall upon the helpless world below. Crops, plants, animals, and even possibly people are now in danger... you can only hope the ground crews will find the burrow safely once Thread is through. If this is your fourth time rolling this status, you start feeling Guilt [Take 3 Turns of Guilt! Any Damage rolled takes an additional -4 HP. Any successful bonuses by other players don't affect your character. You just don't deserve it.] ((2/4))

No! Another clump of thread, just barely slipping by their flame! Elzebuth roared with frustration, and G'ran's teeth were clenched hard enough to hurt. Shards and shells! He couldn't help but think about the people, livestock, and crops down below--no. He couldn't dwell, not now. Faranth send that the ground crews would manage to find the burrow and destroy it, before it could do any real harm...

The fight up here was much more intense, that was for sure. While down below you had to look every which way for Thread, here it was plain where it was coming from. Lireloth was glad he didn't have to be quite as accurate, just as long as he wasn't flaming his Wingmates. He could simply flame and Thread would disappear. It was incredibly satisfying to say the least.

Round 2:
Day 2:
Roll 1: Tongue Bitten!

With an order from the leader, D'ast and Zetigeth hopped to the mid altitude level with their wing, keeping formation as they appeared from between into the calmer layer. Not so calm today though, it appeared the wind was blowing just as much thread down to this level as it was to the upper, or maybe they hadn't been catching as much as they wished.

Firestone, we'll get all of this Thread so it doesn't fall to the lower level, there's a clump coming. Zetigeth said calmly, reminding his rider that there were things to keep an eye on rather than worrying about what they hadn't done before.

Reaching down to grab some, he tossed it up to the little brown and felt a pain flash through their connection. "Zetigeth! Did you just...?"

The brown snorted out a retort and shook his head, flaming at a clump headed towards them, though the flame wasn't nearly as long given the bite he'd just sustained to his tongue. They weren't about to give up after the Weyrleader gave them such a rousing speech, they would find a way!

Now we move. They do have a way with words, do they not? M'nr thought cheerfully to Cordrath, who thrummed with some semblance of agreement. Though only a bit. He wasn't going to be too vocal when the chaos that was an altitude change was going on.

But it didn't mean he thought less of Thistreth's speech. It had really been very nice!

For all of the calm in the wind, however, it still was particularly nasty, blowing a clump of thread right into the pair. Cordrath held in a howl of pain as he blinked between, but both rider and dragon had been hit and even as they emerged, the burned throbbed. It was...distracting, to say the least.

Thella reached down for more firestone and Lireloth took a moment to chew more just as a huge gust of wind buffeted the Wing. Lireloth held steady but paid for it dearly with a clump of Thread landing directly on his hindquarters. He bellowed just for a moment before blinking Between, killing off the Thread and returning with a score mark that would surely scar.
