Despite the fatigue, there was only a little bit of an awkward moment as Mictecath, racing towards the titan bronze, steadied both him and herself enough to catch dragon and rider. Nyara was proud of the Queen, who struggled through injuries to see them all back... Still, it was hard to ignore the other dragons around them, suffering and falling... The Queens had their work cut out for them.

They made another jump Between to avoid some Thread, but underestimated the distance needed to clear it entirely. Elzebuth shuddered as it bit into his tail, and G'ran grimly took him Between once more--this time, visualizing the Weyrbowl.

Thread was threatening them all--and G'ran could see that one of his wingmates was about to be in terrible danger unless they did something. Elzebuth shifted Between--or would have, if Z'rai and brown Kaloth hadn't called out.

Shards. If they hadn't.... It would have been bad. Really bad.

That was probably worth forgiving the near-flaming thing for. G'ran tiredly had Elzebuth relay their thanks, giving his head a sharp shake. Now was no time to be losing focus.

Though Z'rai might have saved him, G'ran couldn't ignore the shout of pain that echoed through the night--from the wingmate they had failed to save in turn. Shaffit.

They honestly weren't feeling very lucky. Elzebuth was silent, but G'ran could feel the pain his dragon was in. He would have several new scars--some of them deep indeed...

They never even saw it coming.

One moment, they were flying in the darkness, eyes straining for any sign of the enemy. The next? They were completely and utterly surrounded, Thread biting into both dragon and man with its single-minded intensity. G'ran cried out, and Elzebuth roared defiantly even as the man desperately took them Between.

One heartbeat. Two. Three. Four--

And they were back in the night sky, falling like a stone.

The conditions had clearly only worsened further in the wings above, as one by one, more dragons fell, and each Queen took her turn catching those who needed them. And though her entire body ached something fierce, Hesperith didn't hesitate when her time came again. This time it was a brown - Anakumath's brown. She rose quickly to help, but between the wind and the darkness, it was difficult to judge exactly what the right postion was, especially as quickly as these decisions needed to be made.

The large brown came down hard, and she didn't have him quite right - he slid off, and was caught at last by another.

The sheet of Thread snuck up on them. How they’d missed it, Shar had no idea. Yulan was engulfed and Shar could feel the pain in her mind- wait, was it her own pain? It was too hard to tell. Between was a blessed relief for two seconds, but when they returned it was to darkness, Yulan’s wings limp, both rider and dragon unconscious as they dropped like a stone.

They were nearing the trailing edge of Fall but it seemed the dragons of High Reaches were taking a beating. One by one, dragons of all colors and sizes seemed to fall. One by one, they were in need of being caught, and Fianth's heart broke.

A dragon was falling, and Fianth rushed up to assist. It was only as she neared that she knew who it was--one of her own, yet again. Beloved and fierce Yulaniath! Oh, to see her so crumbled, the queen gave a creel of heart ache.

Still, she was determined to catch her--to bring her back to those who would care for her, to heal her. She would not let the poor darling fall... Not on her watch! The darkness was difficult to see through, but the Queen was determined.

Yulaniath landed safetly upon her back--any pain from the fall, or the claws of dragon feet, was hardly noticeable. Olliah had no trouble envisioning the Weyr Bowl, and without a moment to spare, the two were gone.

Seeing a wingmate in danger, Hyglath dove into action, intent on sparing them some of the pain he'd been enduring, but unfortunately, the pair overshot, and startled their wingmate right into the Thread they'd been trying to save them from. Oh....

Hyglath creeled apology, feeling absolutely terrible.
