There are reasons for the laws the way they are set up if you stop and actually think about it. heya Tsuji then whats the differance if somebody attacked you in your house? if what you say is true then you have to fight back and then you will get sued >< The minute they attack you in your house they are an intruder. They got into your house and are attacking you! You will not get sued for protecting yourself from an intruder! yes but they are attacking you so they are an attacker. see its just one continues loop of contradiction Did you read Tsuji's post? He addressed this quite well. You are allowed to defend yourself as long as you don't excede the idea of self defense. You are looking at this it seems from a very uneducated standpoint, at least from what I see. thats what i'm talking about. if somebody is trying to kill you you can't kill them

Running is a survival instinct, not stupid. not that. the fact you can kill an intruder but not an attacker Because these people are in your home, there isn't anywhere TO run. Yes you will in certain states. Like I said, in MA, you have to run from people who break into your house. Only if they have you backed into a corner and try and come at you or your family do you have the right to protect yourself from them.
If someone comes into your house to rob you and doesn't come near you you are expected to sit there and watch them rob you until the police come.

He said if they're attacking you not if they are trying to rob you, I mean if they are trying to chase you down and kill you I would think you would have the right to defend yourself as best you can right?

What I think is really dumb is if I try and break into your house and cut my hand while breaking your window I can sue you and win!you heard about that too? i REALLY thought that was stupid of all things ><
OH yeah, I try to be current on the self defense laws of my state. Granted if I killed someone for breaking into my house, no matter where in the house it was I can say that he/she had intent to rape me, hurt my 2 year old daughter or kidnap her...thus absolving myself from most of the laws. Even if I stab the b*****d 20 something times with a claymore....*looks around whistling and brakes into the dance with aretoo*
However Sanzo is right, if you don't have to use deadly force than your not suppose too. Only once you have attempted to stop your attacker/intruder using non-leathal means and they are still attacking than you are allowed to use leathal force.

aretoo, while he *is* a white boy, is also a gay boy, and so has avoided the dreaded "white boy shuffle", in which the torso swings , the arms remain below chest level (if not waist level), and the feet remain nailed to the floor. No, aretoo's hands are above his head, his feet are makin' the moves, and a look of bliss is on his face. But something's missing... (overhead lights go off; club lighting and mirror ball turn on) That's more like it! ^_^

I live in California, but my argument still stands no matter where you are in the US, you can not use more force than necessary.
