Siv
OK... OK the bite was bloody but Siv was fairly sure the bleeding itself was going to ebb now, ans with the bleeding managing itself through tjhe joys of scabbing (She made a mental note to pick up on emergency care and find out if she could carry kits for Standing, because ugh -- and she didn't see any healing tables or maybe she was just blissfully ignorant? Who knew -- and slowly, she lowered her foot, beginning to reapply weight...
ASnd fell down into the sand for a third time with a startled yelp and significant doses of flailing, the female whining.
"SON OF A GOLD'S BUUUUM!"
OK, not really the typical but her ankle hurt too much to word gud words, to put it tactlessly, and the blonde flailed a couple moments, utterly unhappy as she worked on getting herself up onto her good food. Maybe she could balance on the toes of the foot Sectumsempra nipped in her charge around for bloody REVENGE! but weight? By the first cluytch Siv was not happy to need to have it seen to once able (No, really, she could styand! SHE DEMANDED TO FINISH SEEING THIS._.
Still.
Ow. That hurt.
Quote: just a little light lulz for folks ooc -Bows- I'll be here all hatching
Amila
Amila nodded slowly to Ielin, grateful he was close-- then blinked, making a small distressed sound when she peered up. He was BLOODY! Thew hatchlings had-- but he was so kind and didn't deserve-- and Amila made a soft sound of distress seeing Ierlin harmed from the rampaging angry hatchlings. Even if Crucio looked to be calming, Sectumsempra was fighting another dragonet, which earned a concerned sound from the girl, and-- and all she wanted was things to be okay and the babies happy and...
She was definately grateful Ielin was trying, although the girl was quietly trying to calm, and struggling at it. Fortuanately, her panic attack was short -- as they often were in many cases, but it felt like it was dragging on for hours, the girl trembling as she closed and opened her eyes, swallowing and trembling, but remaining crouched for now to make soft upset sounds as she tried scrabbling for a happy-- yes!
Ielin... Maybe he'd imprewss one of the bronzes? That was a happy thought, one she hoped and clung to for now -- her friend Impressing, new or not. He deserved to be safe, and happy, and she was going to focus on how happy the idea was, even if she was coming off of a panic attack -- for his sake.

dhawsn
Aw, hell.
"Le's be on the safe side anyway," he said to Veltanna, moving to take her arm and usher her out of the green's path and away from the bronze--you know, just in case. "I ain' lookin' t'be jerky yet, dunno 'bout you."
It was equally out of fear as it was out of concern as, you see, Dhawsn might very well look like a meaty prize compared to most other candidates, and he was a soft man who had been through turns of hatchings and thus knew: don't approach the dragons that aren't Yours. And while there were safety instructions on if approached by a hostile dragonet, prevention was so, so much better than damage control.
With Crucio's headache gone, it was a little easier to think, as little as Dhawsn could anyway. He wasn't exactly...eager to dive back into the throng, now that they had pulled more towards the sides, but if anyone, in particular women, seemed in danger, he might well charge to get them out.

C'ryn of Bronze Aresoth--High Reaches Wingrider
I will make sure of it, Kiri. The words from Aresoth brushed the girls mind before returning the touch to C'ryn with a chuckle. You're presence has been requested if Kiri impresses or not at the feast. It caught C'ryn off guard but the man smiled and gave a nod of his head, his eyes moving to find where she was. He hoped she impressed, so she could find her partner but...probably more for selfish reasons then anything...Was that so bad though?
Then...everything changed. The bronze from before had attacked one of the male candidates and....
C'ryn stared for a moment as Aresoth's eyes went red at the bronze's actions. That was just...unbecoming of one of their hide. Perhaps the bronze had reacted because of his green sister wilting but...the way he was acting now, standing upon the body of the dead young man....It sickened the bronze and he could feel that C'ryn was filled with worry, as well as sadness. Was that how Henwas had gone? His neck snapped by a hatchling? They may not have ever gotten along, but he would have never wished that upon him...and then...
"No..." The words were breathed from his lips as he leaned forward from the perch, almost dangerously close to falling off the ledge. Kiri was moving towards the bronze, he couldn't make out what she might have been saying but it stopped his heart in his chest as worry spread through him. "Aresoth..."
The bronze reached out towards Kiri again, hesitant for a moment because he was a bronze but it didn't stop him from sending a comforting and soothing wave towards her. It seemed one of the other bronzes down there was just as angry as he was. The bronze would handle things and help this and with that, he turned his attention to Kiri. He did his best to send comforting feelings towards the girl, C'ryn's own worry for her lacing the thoughts.
"Kiri...please.." C'ryn was on the edge of his seat, fighting the urge to go down there to help her, to protect her and save her.
Uta Hope this is okay and works. C'ryn is freaking out and worried.

HAVELI
It had begun as soon as the deadglow ran forward, as soon as she started the green. It began with the death of a male candidate (she knew his name, nothing more) and his body being used as a perch - it continued with the rage of one of the violent looking dragonets as she soared into the crowd. Everything was fine until the pain entered her head, an ache that tried to threaten tears to her eyes, but Haveli felt as though she could shrug it off. Such a sensation she'd felt worse of, huddled in the corner of the barn with blood on her hands and -
Her thoughts were interrupted by a shriek, candidates were getting hurt after all, but it wasn't their cries that caught her mind. No, this voice was all too familiar, all too beloved. The teen managed to look just in time to see her sister flee her side into the crowd and for the briefest of moments, the ground opened beneath Haveli. Arlie had abandoned her in fear, almost as though she refused to believe her sister could and would protect her. That sensation stung far worse than the ache from the Crucio, and whatever irritation she felt, whatever rage from the dragonet, was swiftly replaced with her own.
How dare she. The rage at Arlie was strong, potent, and if it were possible for human eyes to turn red then they certainly would have in Haveli's case. How dare she abandon her, after everything? Arlie was hers after all, her most beloved and cherished sister and she'd been wounded to the point of fleeing. It was almost an ironic mirror of what was happening on the sands with the dragonets, though in this case the teen had only one person she knew she could blame.
It had been so obvious who was the cause of most of this, if not all of it, and with the dragonets otherwise distracted and her movements not out of place due to fleeing candidates, Haveli made her way over to Amilia and Ielin. The look on her face was a viciously cruel smile of relief, one where she was so happy to have someone to blame that wasn't herself. If from this day forward that individual wasn't shunned by all for her actions, she'd at least know the wrath from one particular person who would never let it go. Be it not said grudges couldn't be carried forever; Haveli planned on taking this one to the gave - be it an early or late one.
She reached the pair in due time and looked them up and down, her smirk never faltering. Instead of offering to help the injured man, or calm the woman, Haveli responded in a fashion all too typical of her: strong words that could hit just as hard and as sharp as any slap on the face - and they were directed specifically at Amilia. "You. How did you ever get allowed on the sands?" Her words were an angry hiss, mixed with the pain that the Crucio dragonet had seeped in and the betrayal sting she felt from Arlie. "Look around. Look at him. This is all your fault. You. You caused this."
She gestured towards the youth that gotten hurt protecting her, though the motion was almost entirely dismissive. He should have left this sniveling waste of space on the sands in a corner, instead of trying to be a gentleman. Did he think people just magically earned dragons for good deeds? If that was the case this ridiculous excuse for a human being would have gotten her special magical green and most of this likely wouldn't have happened.
medigel haveli will have words with you later

arlie
She regretted letting go of Haveli, somewhere behind the immediate fear. That was the thing of it, though: fear didn't right care what was logical. Arlie had just thought that turns of following her sister might have squashed any other impulse beyond clinging to her. Just another thought to add to her pile of unworthiness.
She didn't get far, at least, before her initial panic petered out. If there was one thing Arlie was good at that wasn't anything to do with herdbeasts, it was blending into a crowd and in turn letting herself be smothered by it - to quash the individuality out and go dull and quiet, in with the rest. While it was hardly quiet on the sands, at least there were more people. Terrifying strangers, yes, but meatshields all the same.
Though...Two more dragons had dove into the crowd, seemingly to soothe. Arlie wiped at her eyes with her too long robe sleeve and tried to assess if she wasn't so far from Haveli that she could make her way back, apologize for her hasty action. The air was tense still, but the notes of sorrow and worry lacing it were what she really felt. There was a man there, for instance, who seemed so very lonely. And strong. If anything else happened, maybe he could get her back to her sister safely.
"Sir...?" She sniffled.

Colors of the Wind was nearly beside herself with upset at the continued fighting when...something far, far more important caught her attention. In a beat the green's head whipped around, eyes bleeding to blood red...and she charged.
No! Stay your thoughts, cruel, wretched woman!! With a leap the green interceded between Haveli and Amila, wings flared and teeth flashing. Flapping, she reared, claws gouging the air to drive the girl back, away from Amila before pressing back, against the trembling woman's legs, waves of pure protective love radiating off her as she turned to fix whirling rainbow eyes at the one girl in all of Pern whom she would defend above all others.
Pay her words no mind, my Amila, they are simply wind and noise. Listen to your Matoath and hear me when I say that you are where you are meant to be, and who you are meant to be—mine!

FISHER
.....okay so, maybe. Just maybe a boy got killed and while Fisher seriously wanted to say I TOLD YOU SO quite loudly to the happy sunspot that was Kinye she didn't. Or rather she couldn't since there was a sudden pain in her head as one of the greens started on something or another, and one of her eyes closed in a wince as a hand was moved up to tap against the side of her head. Just what exactly was this? Nothing like this had happened before, not even during that weird touching thing, and Fisher wanted to make it stop somehow and make the pain go away. She didn't like it, clearly none of the people around her did, and tapping her head wasn't making it go away. Going and punching the dragonet wouldn't help either, not with the fact someone was dead and specifically running out was what caused all this and -
"Kinye." Her voice sounded weird despite knowing it was exactly the same as usual. "If you don' get behind me RIGHT NOW I am gonna lift ya up and toss yer skinny a** off the sands." There was no room for discussion as it was neither a threat nor a promise. It was a simple statement of what Fisher was going to do in order to protect a girl who looked as though she could die at any moment. Another scream echoed as someone got taken down, then another, and while Fisher had seen things at sea she was not okay with this wanton destruction. What a waste of life! Personally she wasn't going to go down as they did, curling in to a ball and hoping for the best; if a dragonet came her way Fisher would die fighting and die on her feet. The sands were too hot to lay on, dead or alive.
In the midst of all this though an Impression seemed to happen (go figure) and the pain somewhat stopped, replaced with laughter? This was still too weird and still Fisher kept her gaze back and forth between Kinye and the dragonets. "Well? Move." The teen didn't want to sound harsh but even if she felt like she could take on a dragonet and win the simple fact was she likely could not and.....Fisher didn't want to die. She wanted to live, to do things, but maybe....
Maybe dying to protect someone wasn't such a bad thing.

SAHRAWITH off the sands
Perhaps it was the sudden terror that had colored the firelizard that had been resting peacefully on her back that alerted the young dragon, or maybe it was the way the sounds were coming from the hatching grounds. Either way Sahrawith was not there, neither was hers - he was leaning against her flank in an effort to keep himself calm - and for the briefest of moments her eyes whirled yellow in alarm. R'ose shifted at her mood swing, concerned about the reactions from both greens, but a soft nuzzle from his dragon to his head and to the firelizard calmed him.
Even though he wasn't hers, naturally so, Sahrawith had always felt a particular fondness for a certain candidate. Perhaps much of her devotion was colored by R'ose's own unique love for him, though she had been quite fond of him from her first moments on the sands. He had been one of those she'd stopped to be affectionate to, after all, and he remained in her memories and her hearts from that moment to the present. There was something wrong with him now though, a pain that was radiating through Mint and to her despite her efforts to keep the small cousin calm and at her side.
Her voice pressed to a mind she knew quite well, having spoken to him always with R'ose at her side, or from the moments in private conversation that they'd shared. He was one of the only ones she'd ever open her mind to, one of the only ones apart from her own that she would share her thoughts. Radish. She paused, sending affection, sending love and comfort for something she could not see but knew was distressing. Something she knew that would break hers' heart if only he were there to see. Rizdax. I am here. Mine is here. We love you.
What more could she say, what more did she want to say? There was nothing that could be done, and once more Sahrawith nuzzled against the redhead at her side.
