And someone else was in trouble! Though they couldn't make it to them safely in time, Hyglath called out a warning, and it was just enough for the other pair to avoid disaster.

As Keyrarath flamed down a clump of Thread, the wind changed, blowing the still very hot ash right back at them...and there was some Thread in it! The pair hopped Between, but that had hurt.

When they reappeared from Between, it was not into the safe airspace they had hoped for - oh, it was the right airspace, but a large sheet of Thread was being blown towards them, and fast! They blinked away from anger, then back to flame half the sheet, then again to finish off the rest of it. Take that!

The wind was awful, and blew errant strands of Thread this way and that, but Keyrarath was small and nimble, and doing well at avoiding them for now.

One of their wingmates was in trouble! While they were busy flaming down a large sheet of Thread, 3 small clumps were being blown toward them. Keyrarath jumped into action, and was quickly able to burn them all into ash.

Though they'd been doing fairly well in spite of the windy conditions, sooner or later, something had to give...and it did. Keyrarath was blown off-course, and into a tangle of Thread that wrapped around her foreleg.

Much as they both enjoyed the battle against Thread, Hyglath at least had to admit that it was hard sometimes, and he was getting tired...but there was work still to be done, as Herg'r reminded him, and as long as the bronze didn't feel he was in danger of dropping out of the sky, they would see this Fall through.

As they returned from Between again, Ishkhara checked in with her green - that had been a bad hit, and she wouldn't hesitated to insist on going to the Healers if it was necessary. But though Keyrarath would have new scars, the damage was nothing serious, and they were able to continue on.

Things were rough, but the pair did their best to stay focused. The blue dragon certainly did his best sweeping up Thread--and while he still felt miserable about Elzebuth--there was nothing more to be done. All they could do was apologize later... and hope the brown wasn't too upset.

Again, the blue made little work of Thread. The winds were rough, and Thread was being blown around every which way--but Macuith had always been a skydancer, and he used it to great advantage now.

When his agility wasn't enough, C'lusi managed to keep places in mind for the blue to jump. Though the rider was anxious about hurting another wingmate, this time, the jump was clean and they were able to avoid taking damage.

Unfortunately, their luck couldn't win out completely. As they fought valiantly, they found themselves cornered. What had been clear airspace had a sheet of Thread practically on top of them. "Mac!" With hasty coordinates given, the rider and dragon attempted to return to where they had been...

And instead, found themselves direclty in a sheet of Thread.

Macuith snarled in pain, and C'lusi suddenly felt the rise of panic and anxiety. Though his dragon wasn't burned, he remembered what it had been like just before his blue fell. The pain was familiar...the flashback, practically real. Still, he scrambled to think of different coordinates, and this time, their aim was true.

One, two, three, fo--

They appeared in clear air, and though his shoulder ached, along with his phantom limb, they were alive. Macuith felt shaky beneath him, but the two were determined not to let them set this back. The Wing needed every rider it had...

2: You appear close to the clump. Your dragons wings are grazed, but another quick hop and you're fully clear of the danger. [Minor Damage -1 HP.

3: You're fully clear of the danger! Phew! That was close! +1 Extra Between Accuracy

4: You not only manage to blink out of danger, but you blink back again, flame half of the clump, and blink away again only to appear a safe distance away. It's an impressive display of thread fighting power! Good job! Word will be going around the lower caverns tonight! +2 Extra Between Accuracy

The pain was a reminder that they had to stay sharp. It was too easy to make a sloppy mistake this late in the game. Thankfully, despite being exhausted and in pain, the blue dragon continued to fight.

The wing seemed empty with so many figures gone. Even Elzebuth had crashed--though Macuith was certain he had been the reason. But they couldn't worry about that... They had to keep alert, and they did.
