Yes, there is a live-action Death Note. Came out before the anime, if I recall correctly--the second one's playing in Japan right now.
If I must say anything, do NOT torrent the same fansub that I did, because it SUCKS and the resolution is tiny. XD Wait for a good group to do it, whenever that may be.

I think your chapters have a reasonable length. Chapter one of mine is far too short.
