Hound walked on all fours to the room where john was and once he figured out how to open it he asked, "Are you alright? And If we're leaving, I have one request. Where we go, let it be a place that has a lot of open space. None of us want to be caged again. And I need to run."
R.J. waited for the sound of the engine. He wouldn't leave until he had something to follow.

Smoke looked at the Chimera with the same reserved gaze he always had. "I don't know where we're going yet," he admitted. "I'm just trying to get us as far away from them as we can get."
He would tell all of them more of his plan once they were on the move and they could all hear. John would have to be told so he could tell R.J., then they could leave.
John stepped out of the room and was about to head towards his room when Trent stopped him with a hand on the shoulder and related his plans. The Chimera only interrupted with a few suggestions and questions, but otherwise agreed with his course of action. Just before he was about to round up the rest of his companions, Smoke stopped him again.
"You're an excellent leader. They look up to you," he stated honestly, his eyes looking into John's own with intensity. "But a man who abandons those who trust him to go looking for blood... He finds it. But he has nothing to come back to."
John looked at him for a moment, wondering how he had known, wondering who this man really was.
Wondering how the hell he would know what John was going through.
"As long as they need me, I'll be here. But they won't get away with killing Panther." His voice trembled with a mixture of cold fury, sorrow, and it held the hint of a promise.

There was suddenly the sound of cracking concrete. Hound was on all fours behind John and Smoke, his nails cutting into the concrete of the walkway. "Did you just say...they...Killed sister...? His eyes were wide open and his teeth were bared. He hadn't known, he had never had the chance to even meet panther, or even get to know her scent. He didn't even know that it was her blood that gave him his sanity and help him save his brothers and sisters. But despite all of that, he was furious.

Smoke and John's gaze snapped towards Hound, their heart beats climbing as the fear of being caught again surged through them. When they noticed it was only Hound, they relaxed, John visibly. Smoke simply closed his eyes and exhaled softly, while John shook a tremor from his body and opened his eyes again. "They took Panther," he informed, his voice a half whisper.
Smoke wasn't keeping it a secret that Panther's blood was what was keeping Hound in check, but he didn't have a reason to let it be known either. He was a practical man, but he doubted the other Chimerae would understand that Panther wouldn't need it anymore. Or they would understand... but they wouldn't find it morally acceptable. Something Smoke had little problem with in the face of bare practicality. Panther had nothing to lose then, but these Chimerae did, which was why morality won out in this case.

Hound wasn't calming down though. His body had burned through the blood he'd been given. And what was worse, he mentally made the connection between panther's death, and the blood he received. He was losing controll again, and if they didn't act fast he was going to revert. His body was shaking. He started to whisper, "blood..."

Smoke saw what was happening easily, and his hand slowly went for his gun.
"Don't do that. He's not stupid, he knows what you're doing. Get the rest of the Chimerae and head out, we'll catch up. You don't want to be here in two minutes. Go."
Wounds from the battle with Upsilon, from the beating from Smoke himself, from escaping the slaughterhouse, all bore down on John. His stitched legs were still healing, as well as the three scrapes from Jagg on his arm, and the cut along the side of his head. Other than that though, he was perfectly capable of stalling Hound long enough for the other Chimerae to get away.
He lowered himself into a balanced fighting stance as Smoke opened the door to his room and closed, locked it. The door that laid in the wall between their room and another room was opened, and he called to the occupants of both: "Lonomia, Red, we've gotta go. Immediately." They left through the window on the first floor and booked it towards the garage after he called for Apsalar, Tobart, and the rest of the Chimerae. R.J. was on the roof of the garage, waiting for them to go. The sky overhead was cloudy and gray, looking like it might rain soon.

Apsalar frowned at John's words. "Scare..." She trailed off. Then she shook her head determinedly. Maybe they did scare people. But she still thought, if she could only explain her ideas to the others, that it would work...
But she would be the first to admit she knew nothing about the ways that humans would react. Even if she could figure out how to explain it to Smoke and the other Chimerae, she couldn't know if it would actually be a useful plan.
When Smoke came in, she started. Looking down, she noticed her tangled feathers and carefully nudged them under the hoodie so that they could no longer be seen.
She had turned back to Tobart when the other two left. "Run," she said quietly, looking at him. "Other way." She shut her golden-brown eyes, trying to think straight. Trying to make the words come out. "There. Other way. There is. Other way." Frustrated, she flung her hands up and turned away. She couldn't make it come out right. It made no sense.
Seeing the others climb out through the window, she gestured to Tobart and nodded at them. "Come," she said. "Hurry." And she climbed out with relative ease - her wings kept trying to flutter and help her find balance, but hampered by the hoodie, it didn't work. Otherwise, she had little trouble.
Landing, she waited for Tobart. She could easily follow the others by scent, but she wanted to make sure he was with her first.

Tobart followed and Lonomia, also covered in an oversized hoodie that hid most of his hair, jumped as well. He landed hard, brittle bones shocked at the impact, but not fazed.

Once Apsalar was satisfied that Tobart and Lonomia were with her, she lifted her head and breathed deep. Determinedly, she kept her eyes straight ahead and tried not to think about how wide everything was...how open...
She shuddered deeply. "We...go," she said, staring determinedly in the direction that she could smell the others from. Though she could tell that there were a few still behind, she had decided that her primary responsibility was these two.
Tobart and Lonomia.
"Come," she said again, pointing in the direction of the garage. "Come."
And she set off at an easy, loping pace, making sure they could keep up with her.

Red nodded and started to follow. She caught sight of Hound though and took a few steps toward him. "Big Brother?" she asked quietly. Then she heard what he was saying. "What do I need to do?" She asked him quietly. She wasn't going to leave him. Not until he was his normal self.

Hound turned to red and attacked her. Biting into the side of her neck to drink her blood. He only held her for a moment before letting go. he suddenly realized what he'd done and ripped one of his sleeves off to bandage the wound. "I'm sorry red! I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry! Don't you dare die!"

Red cried out when she was bitten. The pain was almost too much. When he let go her face was pale. "I-I-I'm fine B-big Br-brother..." she said weakly. If she was going to suppl him with blood like she promised him it would take a lot of getting used to.

Hound hugged Red too him gently but tightly. "I'm sorry Red..." and he snuggled. He was trying more to comfort himself, because he felt very bad for what he'd just done. "Red, I love you little sister. I'll never let anything bad happen to you..."

When Red came up behind Hound and he attacked her, John was powerless to stop it. It was like a train wreck--you couldn't look away, but there was nothing you could do to prevent it from happening. The fact that he would feed on his own little sister, a Chimerae like himself, made him sick to his stomach. His knees weakened, and he faltered until he was resting on them, arms hanging uselessly at his sides at the display.
"Oh, God..." he trailed faintly. He didn't know who God was except from passing references, and he only used the phrase from hearing other people use it during times of stress. The engine from the garage didn't even rouse him from his blank stare.
In the garage, Smoke had loaded most of the Chimerae onto the jeep and didn't notice that he was missing Red until he drove out partway and heard her cry. Whatever had happened between Hound and John, she was in trouble.
He parked the jeep and drew his gun, motioning the Chimerae inside to stay put for a moment. "I'll be right back," he promised, eyes set on the target ahead. He could only hope they understood his intentions and didn't think he was going to kill one of the Chimerae in the hallway.
Speaking of which, the smell of Red's blood had carried across the air to John, who inhaled the acrid metallic stench and exhaled it almost immediately. A sister was hurt--a little Chimerae, his own kin, almost the same age as Panther.
Before he realized what he was doing, he was on his feet and had catapulted into Hound.
Where Red went at that moment and what happened to the half-ox Chimera he had just tackled, he didn't know.

Hound felt the impact of John's attack, and tried his best to protect red. He made sure she didn't get hurt by the attack and subsequent fall. He turned to John with a growl, "What are you doing?! We made a pact. I would allow her to supply me with blood, and she would in return always, no matter what, call me her big brother. I didn't want to feed on her blood at all. I don't want to feed on anyones blood You understand!?" Then Hound turned to reveal he was holding Red in his arms carefully. "I promised myself I would protect her with my life, And I will keep it. I'll not let her come to harm!" There were tears in his eyes. "It was her Idea for me to feed on her blood!"
Hound then looked John in the eyes and said, "As cruel and terrible as it sounds, If Panther hadn't died, I would never have been able to help you all escape. If sister hadn't died, then where would the blood I was given, where would it have come from? if at all? Little sister saved us all without even trying or knowing...Where else could it have come from???"
He was now crying as he held the makeshift cloth bandage to Red's wound. He was mentally cursing himself with words of hatred. Hating what he was, hating his human traits, hating his animal traits. He also had a mental flash back of his youth, of when he was small. Horrid memories.
