Above are the cakes for a wedding I just got back from. It's weird that they had several cakes instead of one big one. I didn't stay long enough for the cake because my mommy wasn't feeling well, but I wonder if they roses are real... eek

If they're good enough, they could be made with royal icing. They're most probably real roses though.
Well I've seen stranger; apparently wedding pies are becoming more popular than wedding cakes nowadays. Then again, this is assuming I trust everything the Food Network says.

Wedding.......pies? I've never heard of such a thing. What is this blasphemy? Oh, by the way Jiro, you'll never forget about that. The more you try to forget, the more you subconciously thinking about forgetting. Therefore, you'll never forget that way.

It's apparently becoming popular since wedding cakes are becoming expensive (says Food Network during their wedding special)
They're just like regular pies, but fancier.

See, the wedding cake originated from a tradition (I think might have been French or something) where the guests would bring breads and pastries, and the idea was to stack all of it so high that the bride and groom could not kiss over the top of it.

Ah the French Profiteroles! They are quite tasty and they're like a giant tower of cream puffs and other desserts!
The cakes do look yummy, Dark. But unfortunately I'm currently on a small weight-loss regiment.
