Joshua stood waist deep in the water, staring at Lucian. 'Well, I suppose the legends do say they can pass for us.' He thought. Joshua's eyes narrowed slightly as he realized something. "If you can turn into a human, then why do you need me?" A small part in the back of his mind wondered about the clothes and how they managed to appear.

Joshua raised an eyebrow. "Well, I suppose that could be true. Aw, whatever." He shrugged. "I already promised." He'd reached the shore now and shrugged out of the scuba gear. "I'll be quick." He called out, promising Katalina. 'They are two complete opposites.' His thoughts unintentionally comparing sea-dragon and mermaid. With a small sigh, Joshua trudged up the sand to where the trees where. 'I hate land, sometimes.' There, just in the fringes of the trees was a small camp. From the water, it appeared like any other section of beach. The only difference visible from a distance was a tree that grew at an angle to the others. It was under this shelter that Joshua's small camp was. A small area to sleep and cook in. That was about it. He didn't really spend much time here. Most of Joshua's time was spent out and about.

"Damn." Joshua muttered. "I'd forgotten about the mind reading thing." He made his way over to a cooler sitting next to a small two burner camp stove. Flicking open the lid, he examined the contents, wondering what Lucian would prefer. After a minute of staring he gave up and turned to Lucian. Beckoning him over, Joshua waved a hand at the cooler. "Well? See anything you want?"

Rosalina smiled helping Lucian up. "Here."she said simply, holding out a bag full of sweets. "The cove where I hide my stash of sweets from my cousins is not far from here. This is the last of what I had stored. Poppy will probably make more tomorrow."she explained shrugging.

Lucian sat up and grabbed the bag, opening it he devoured everything inside. Looking up with sparkly eyes, he smiled at the Human girl then back at Joshua. Looking back down at his chocolate swirl, which was now smashed, he opened it and munched on it while humming a lullaby. He was in temporary bliss that is until he stared down at his empty hand. He head slowly rose up and looked right at the cooler.

Katalina watched them from the water, laughing softly as Lucian fell on his face. I guess you haven't figured out yet that what he says you can have, you can have, she thought at Lucian, highly amused. Returning her gaze to Joshua, she decided it was about time he learned that sometimes she could listen in, too. Waiting for a thought she could respond to, she was pleased with the 'puppy eyes' thought.

He does, doesn't he? she replied lightly. He wouldn't hear it in his mind, exactly...more like she was whispering in his ear, despite being so far away. But you'll learn to resist it if you hang around him long enough.

Joshua laughed at Lucian, from where he was pinned to the ground. Though his laugh froze when he heard Katalina. His head snapped towards the water. "Katalina?" He called, mentally and physically. Her voice was different from Lucian's. She seemed to be next to him, while Lucian was in his head. "Can EVERYBODY do this?" He asked, again using both voices. He wasn't quite sure how to respond to Katalina. Mental? Physical? With her voice so different from the sea-dragon's, Joshua didn't know how Katalina would hear him.
