{Perhaps we can have political matters pop up before and after the wedding, even if only because more than one species of aristocrat will come to see what kind of woman managed to willingly get betrothed to//later marry the Mad King of all people. If we play our cards right, we can make quite a messy situation amongst the different races - leaving a delicate balance that will ultimately lead to war if tipped in any given direction due to both the sociopathy of all involved and deeply ingrained hatred. ((Only held in check by everyone's equal strength and the strangely obsessive need for politeness)) ..Yes, I've been thinking about this for awhile. Also, as the wedding will probably be a sign that humanity is showing hints of joining the demonic culture//country//whatever through gradual immersion, that means that the balance will be tipped. *has been thinking about this for too long*}

{If things run too dry, depending on how much we've developed the world around our characters, I was thinking of doing a sort of spin-off based in this world in question. It'd be nice to see how a setting like this can go, given the right plot and cast.
Shall I do the opening post? Because I don't mind it if you don't.}

{So, are we doing old character cameos for the politicians? Or are they no faced/no text NPCs like we do with characters neither of us want to play?}
The wedding was only a few days away, and boy did the castle's inhabitants show it! Even in the earliest hour of the morning, servants were zipping noisilly and rapidly about in preparation for the grand event. Unfortunately for Ophelia, this meant she didn't get as much sleep or time to herself as she might wish. Even today she was being forced into extragant silks and a borderline bone crushing corset, dolled up for hours and hours simply so she could meet the important guests that would be attending her wedding. She could only hope the elegant attire and matching ensemble of jewelry complimented her as much as the handmaids said...

((I say no text NPCs. xD ))
While he didn't have to deal with quite the same level of fanciness that Ophelia did, Kaistern was also dealing with fussy servants and the like. How long should the cape be? What color ribbon to tie his hair back with? Cravats or no? Should he have a decorative sword with him? At times he was actually happy when he had to leave to greet the latest guests just to get away from the fussing.

{B'aaaw. emo
Only after what felt like an eternity and a half was Ophelia finally allowed to leave her old chambers, lead along like a jewel encrusted puppy to help Kaistern in greeting their guests. Speaking of Kaistern, she hadn't really seen him all day. She could only hope that he was having better luck than she currently was.

((If you want to, go right ahead, but I'm feeling laaaazy. xD ))
"I am well aware of your feelings towards the orcs, but I'm not making you sit near them." Kaistern, mercifully let out of his work-in-progress groom suit, was busy chatting to the elven leader. "And yes, you and everyone else had to come because you and I both know this silly bout of racism has gone on long enough."
((OH GOD ONE OF THE STICK IN THE MUD JACKASS LEADERS SHOULD TOTALLY BE ATIUS. XDDD ))

{Atius needs to be the leader of a nornally ugly but horney species, too. I suggest either centaurs or satyrs. What do you think? (Ariae shall be either an angel or a harpie, Mala's gonna be Fae/Fair Folk. If I can come up with more I will)}
Ophelia wore an expensive and flattering dress, certainly, but it paled in comparison to the wedding gown they were working on for her. A wedding gown that, although beautiful, she would be most embarassed to wear due to the sheer extravagance of it. Not that she even wished to think of it, for the moment, considering she was too busy trying to survive the corset she wore.
She approached Kaistern and the elven leader with a pleasant smile on her face, her heart racing passionately and nervously beneath her breast. She could only hope that she would not make an utter fool of herself. The moment she had what would be an acceptable chance to greet them both, she said, "Good morning to the both of you." Well, there went nothing. She hoped again and again that she would not leave a poor impression.

((Satyr. Definitely satyr. Because now all I can imagine is Phil from Hercules: short, fat, rude, and ugly. XD And I'm trying to think of a good mischievous race that Van could be.))
Cue the elf turning and walking off with a cold shoulder of arctic proportions. "Yes, the downside to royal weddings: not much control over the guest list..." Kaistern muttered with a sigh as he walked the man walk off. "But hopefully we won't have to deal with them too much during the actual reception. And I'm sure they'll change their minds about you eventually." he said giving Ophelia a small smile, taking her hand and giving her a little twirl.

{Bonus points if he's groping every other female at the party, possibly up to and including the bride herself to the point a certain someone shoots him in the a** - to the complaint of absolutely no one.
Oooh! Oooh! If he becomes a reoccuring leader, he should be the world buttmonkey!}
"I don't mind it one bit. Compared to when I first came to the city, that's probably the kindest first reception I've gotten, yours excluded." Ophelia replied with a small chuckle, smiling back at Kaistern. Once she had the chance to look him over, her smile widened all the more. "You're looking rather hansome today. Well, you always do, but still.."

((For some reason I imagine Kaistern punching him out or dropkicking him before Ophelia gets the chance. XD
And world buttmonkey. Lol. Yes.))
"With all the running around and greeting people I have to do I don't have much of a choice." Kaistern said with a bit of a tired smile. He thought with all the servants around that holding a wedding would be easy. "They keep trying to cover me in make up to hide the scars too, but I think that's a tad excessive if you ask me." he said running his fingers across the scars on his cheek, marks that never faded after his mental dilemma.

{Either way, pure hilarity. He only exists to be hated anyway. Atius, I mean.}
"Agreed." To be perfectly fair, though, Ophelia sort of had a thing for scars anyway. "I'm surprised that they've given up on hiding my tattoos with makeup." she then admitted with a fair bit of amusement, despite realising that makeup could not completely hide said tats to begin with. Still, the servants seemed quite eager to give perfection the ol' college try to begin with.
