It irks me a bit. But for a really superficial reason.
I'm very particular of things that are anachronistic and also out of place. The scouter-type thing, in addition to the hat (used for farming, usually), don't seem in place with the warrior getup.

I'm not really diggin' the whole pastel thing...
Anachronisms can be fun, and if he continues it correctly it could be a really cool time-warrior thing.

It look cool. You have a lo of black, but the red evens the colors out. Good combination of items.
