Another Elf sat in the corner of Fid's tent. He had been waiting for him for a good time now, his ice blue eyes seeming to pierce through the firelight. "Fid. Your reports have been...lacking these last two days." Authion said as he stood up, his voice and face emotionless as he walked towards the half-elf. Like Fid, he was on the patrol, though a higher ranking member of the patrol, and one that was very keen on detecting Drow. "Is there a reason for this?" He asked, placing his hands behind his back calmly.

Fid scowled. Out of all the elves that expected more from him, and there were many, Authion was the worst. "Other than my utter distaste for reporting when I'm tired?" He moved across his small tent to the tiniest fire pit and took out a box of flint from a dirt hole. lighting the little twigs and the small amount of grass sitting there, he took out a small cup to make the elf tea. "No, not really. It has been relatively quiet. If anything turns up, though, you'll be the first to know. You all know I hate those killers. And with me, hate is a strong word."
Everyone knew that. The man was kind and cheery, but the lack of sleep made him a viper in wait to strike. "Take me off of sword practice and maybe I'll give you better reports." Every word he said rang true. It has been relatively quiet and swordplay used up his sleep time. he would rather just practice his animalistic abilities and go take a nap before diner instead of heading right to the training.

"I'll keep that in mind. However I'm more interested in why you didn't report that you called upon the wolves to help you. Or did it slip your mind to mention that?" Authion asked calmly. He barely tolerated Fid's cross mood every time he finished a patrol and it was wearing thin now.
"You do know better than to just call upon the wolves for no reason, so I'm curious, what was your reasoning behind it?" Authion continued as he began to walk towards the Elf. Usually Authion would just leave people be, but he was quick to notice anything out of the ordinary, and this was out of the ordinary.

Fid shook his head and chuckled. He always called to the wolves. Authion was just being paranoid. "Um, how about because that is my job when I see a blur? The owl alerted me and I called the pack. And anyways, who has been talking to my wolves?" He always thought of the pack as his. He helped to feed them when deer were scarce for the winter, and he stayed around them a lot in the breeding times.
Fid turned to the elf. "Listen, come to me when you have solid proof that something is off. Until then, leave me be. I've been doing a lot more to protect you and the forest." His grumpiness was at its peak. He hated being accused of things, but then again, he was guilty this time.

Authion listened with a dead stare. He didn't buy it, but he'd have to observe longer and gather more information before he could push the issue further. "I'm keeping an eye on you, Fid. Remember that." Authoin warned before he exited the tent and went off to go report to his superiors.
Maya was awake early the next evening. While her cave had been dark during the day, it wasn't very comfortable for her when she could still see rays of light from the sun come down the long passage. It made her wary at least, and she was now practicing with her scimitars against a tall, skinny rock, most likely being used as a dummy.

Fid made to sleep as soon as Authion left, but only managed to stay up for a bit. Waking up at the first light of dawn, he went to hunt, grumpy. He was allowed this right and he never took it for granted. Taking a bow and three arrows, he headed out. Soon he got a deer and called the wolves. Cooking the meat, he gave each male some and extra for their mates and pups.
He looked at the leader and activated his magics. "My friend, someone seems to be spying on me. If you could, bring this to the dark elf." He gave the wolf a chunk of cooked venison with a note tucked underneath. The wolf nodded and picked both up. As soon as the wolves left, Fid picked up the rest of the carcass and took it back to camp. Sleeping the rest of the day, he didn't go to practice.
He sat in his tree that evening, hoping the drow was OK with the bear and that she got her meat. He had a parcel of two slabs of venison and the cooked heart so, when he went to the cave, they all had something to eat. Him, her, and the bear.

The lack of restful sleep affect Maya slightly. She didn't hear the wolf before he got to the entrance of the cave, which startled her slightly when she finally did notice him. Luckily, she didn't strike out at him, only jumped back until she could process what was happening. Once she realized what was going on, Maya sheathed her scimitars and slowly walked over to the wolf, taking the parcel from him.
The bear seemed to lumber up at that point and Maya quickly threw him the heart and half of a slab of the venison, knowing better than to get between any sort of animal and food, even if she was on the surface. She nodded in thanks to the wolf and quickly retreated to the shelf she'd slept on during the day to keep away from her roommate, just in case he decided he was still hungry.

Fid's words wrote:
"Dear Drow, Hopefully you have gotten the meat and this note. May not be able to come tonight. Elves are suspicious. XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX~Sincerely Fidelius
P.S. Save me the heart!"

"Well my friend, looks like I may have gotten us in a little trouble." Maya laughed, looking down to the bear, who had laid back down at this point. The bear looked up at her and blinked, growling a little. "Fine fine, I'll tell him I ate it." She said, laughing once more as she stretched out on the shelf.

Fid hooted to his owl companion, telling him that he had a run to make. If the owl spotted someone, go to the bear's cave. He made his way silently to the cave, slowly, as he checked behind him to see if anyone was following him. Fid walked into the cave with a quiet call. "Hey." Walking up to the bear, he patted his head. "Hello Papa, enjoy your meal?" The bear looked at him and yawned in his face. Fid coughed and chuckled as he walked away and waited for Maya to show herself.

"Hello Fidelius. Are you sure it's wise to come here if you're being watched?" Maya asked as she sat up on the shelf and looked down at him, her snow white hair spilling over her shoulders. "It seems I fed the heart to our friend here. My apologies." She said as she jumped down off the shelf and landed on her feet easily before him.

Fid shrugged. "I'm leaving soon anyways." He shrugged off her fear. "I was just seeing how you were doing. Is that so wrong?" He had a melodramatic tone to his voice.

"Sorry to hear that. I guess there's nothing wrong with it. Just seems risky is all I guess." Maya said with a shrug. "I don't want to get you into trouble. My race is known for trouble." She sighed.

Fid shook his head. Sighing, he sat against the wall. "It doesn't matter hat they do, does it. Sooner or later they will keep pushing while I'm tired and I'll fight back. I am no one's toy and they should just be grateful I'm helping. After all, I am only half elf." He folded his arms and scowled.

"I wouldn't know." Maya said with a shrug. "At least they seem to consider you one of their own even if you're only half." She didn't know why he was ranting to her, but she wasn't really complaining. It just seemed odd to her, and so far this was the most contact she had had with another living being for years.
