Physical Description: Dalle stands at 5'4 and is rather petite. She has greying brown hair that she wears to her shoulders and warm, chocolate brown eyes accented by light crows feet at the edges. Although small, her body is hardened by years of living in the wilderness. She may seem dainty and delicate, but you definitely wouldn't want to get into a fist fight with her. Her attire is simple but intricate, generally with a few layers and soft, almost lacy designs or highlights. Her skin, despite being outdoors so often, is quite fair.

Personality: Dalle is a go-getter and doesn't take 'no' for an answer. Although she is kind and thoughtful, she doesn't let others take advantage of her in any way and will be quick to tell someone when they're stepping on her toes. She has a very motherly feel to her and loves children and will often go out of her way to help those that are youngest. She has a strong sense of loyalty to those that earn it and would do anything for her small family. She can hold a grudge for quite some time and doesn't forget any slight against her, her dragon, or her husband or daughter. After the situation with her parents and extended family she doesn't trust easily and is suspicious of those trying to get close to her, leaving her without many friends outside of Shen.

While Dalle has no trouble looking out for herself, she is quite warm-hearted and will stop what she's doing to help anyone in need. She has a shrewd eye for detail and is definitely the one you'd want to go to for fine, careful work. She is quite adept at drawing and her favorite jobs are one that require flying high above the land and sketching a map. Had dragon riding not worked out, she would have been an amazing cartographer. Her letters with Thella keep her from worrying about her daughter and how she is fairing, but when she doesn't hear from her she assumes the worst and becomes frantic about ensuring she is okay.

Negative: Can hold a grudge, Suspicious, Can be obsessive about certain things (hearing from Thella).

History: Dalle was born to a blacksmith father and a healer mother in High Reaches Weyr. From a young age she showed an interest in dragon riding, and when she came of age to become a Candidate she enlisted as one straight away, much to her parents disapproval. They had hoped she'd continue in the tradition of her mother's side of the family, where all of the women were healers. Dalle's own sisters were healers as well, and her one brother had followed in his father's footsteps in smithing. Dalle wouldn't be discouraged by the lack of support from her family, although with each year that she failed to Impress the more she felt withdrawn from her family.

Finally, though, a little green dragon called to her during a Hatching, and almost instantly her distant family returned to Dalle, congratulating her and hoping for her success. At first Dalle was ecstatic to receive the attention from them again, but when it became clear they were only hoping to capitalize on their own professions by saying their daughter was a rider, she cut all ties with them and focused on her training. It was at that time she began dating S'en, a blue rider about her age that had Impressed two clutches before her. They remained together in High Reaches for three years, during which time they were wed, before S'en's rising intolerance of the strict ways of the Weyr became too much. He told Dalle that he had to leave, that he couldn't stay, and that he would understand if she didn't wish to join him. Dalle couldn't have packed her things faster than she did. She had nothing here at High Reaches any longer, not with her own disowning of her family. Together they turned in their equipment and set off with their few belongings and their dragons to live a life of freedom.

To earn money Dalle and Shen - who took his old name after leaving High Reach - began to pick up odd jobs that others in small villages and towns had. It turned out there was quite the demand for dragon riders to scout out new spots for grazing, for construction, to chase out wolves or other predators from farmland, and other bits and bobs. They had enough money to travel the continent and never be hungry which was enough for them. At 27 Dalle gave birth to a daughter whom they named Thalle, and together they became a happy adventuring family.

One of their jobs took them to a town not far from High Reaches, and it was at that time that Thalle was Searched by a bronze rider from the Weyr. Remembering her own past there, Dalle spoke with her daughter about what to expect if she wished to become a Candidate, how the rules there were nothing like living out here, but at the same time how rewarding it was to have a dragon as a life long companion. It was with both pride and trepidation that she watched Thalle be flown away by M'aze and Zeath, but in the coming years it proved to be a wonderful decision. Thalle Impressed after about a year and she had taken a brown, which was unusual but still acceptable. She keeps in touch with her daughter as she and Shen continue to travel and work, enjoying her freedom and hoping that her daughter will still have a fulfilling life.

During the Threadfall she and Shen were faced with a rather difficult decision - to return to High Reaches or to remain rogue. Out here they couldn't help in protecting Pern from the Thread, but to return would mean living the life they both left willingly and eagerly. After it became clear that two more dragons wouldn't have made a difference in the Fall, they decided to remain explorers and continue to help those in need in other ways.
Other: Dalle and Taeth will never assist in Threadfall, but they will happily help those after it has passed in whatever way they can. Ages up OOCly on November 10th

Physical Description: Dainty and docile, Taeth is what some might call a beautiful dragon. She has long, elegant limbs and a very precise way of holding herself that almost seems as if she's being picturesque on purpose. She takes great care in her appearance, cleaning up after meals and after getting dirty for one reason or another.
Personality: Taeth's personality matches her physical appearance quite well. She is soft-spoken and shy and doesn't make friends easily, heavily relying on her rider to initiate those personal connections. Taeth is influenced greatly by Dalle and will usually do whatever is asked of her, although there are times that Taeth is too timid to oblige. Thankfully Dalle doesn't push her every time to step out of her comfort level, but every time she does Taeth finds her confidence in herself growing. It seems to be a battle she fights constantly as her self-esteem is quite low despite the constant support of Filagoth and Shen, as well as Dalle's love and devotion. Her talents include being a gentle soul that seems to understand what others need emotionally and is in her element when comforting others or providing emotional support.
