~ Catherine awoke on New Day ~
Despite what happened yesterday Rin found herself able to sleep soundly throughout the night, save for a few conflicting thoughts. As for her work she was not able to write MUCH, but it was as much as she could get herself to do before she'd pass out. By the time she was sleeping the paper was roughly two thirds covered, some of the tip had slight scribbles where she started over, but hopefully it was enough.
However what happened early in the morning startled the girl as she was stirred from her slumber to a... Discomforting sound. It sounded like... Crying? Is that... Jesse..?? It took seconds for her to go from groggy to full alert, though careful to avoid making herself known. Catherine was slow to turn her head to the direction of the person in question... Surely enough, Jesse was up. Sitting on her bed, curled up and seemingly the source of the whines and sobs. "...Jesse..?" The Shifter asked softly while she'd look at the roommate for a second with a look of concern on her face. What could be troubling the usually so upbeat Fox so much that she's just sitting there, in that current state? This was the point where Rin chose to shoot up from her bed and hurry over to her friends bedside. "Jesse?? Jesse, are you okay??" Her voice no longer hushed, filled with a frightened tone. Catherine places her hands on the fellow Shifter's shoulder and tried to coax the sobbing girl to face her. Rins ears would droop and she would hold her ground in front of the Fox girl, immediately desperate to try to aid her friend... But she'd need to get her to talk first.

Jesse hadn't heard Rin's initial mention of her name - the little Fox had been so distraught by what had been revealed to her in that dream that her guilty, heartbroken sobs seemed to drown out anything audible - at least until Rin rushed over to see that she was okay...
She could hear the frightened tone in her roommate's voice, but just couldn't bring herself to words, instead, sodden blue eyes locked with Rin's burgundy hues and as the Husky's hands found the Fennec Child's shoulders, it was hard not to want to burst into tears again... "He...he's gone..."
There was no telling how Rin would take that - there was really only one individual that the young Fox would be talking about - but for one thing, Jesse couldn't have been the only person with the initial belief that Nanashi had just upped and left without reason - The guy was a free spirit, adventurous, a little obnoxious at times...but then again...
Depending on the Husky's reaction, Jesse would hold her roommate's gaze for a moment longer before glancing away, her own ears drooping as she raised a hand to try and wipe away the tears, "My dream..." She used the same palm to brush away the tears from her other eye but didn't once lift her gaze, "...Wasn't a dream." How could she explain it? What she'd seen? She never saw the one who had actually caused his demise...but to witness what had happened with her own eyes...she almost wished the forest had swallowed her whole instead... "He's...gone..."

"A...Vision?" As the Husky tried to re-obtain the Fox's gaze, Jesse's ears would quirk in opposing directions with confusion at her roommate's words - her eyes still staring off at nothing before widening in realisation as to how Rin may have jumped to this conclusion,
"N-no...it wasn't a vision..." She shook her head, keeping her gaze averted as she took a second to clear her throat from all the grot that had formed there from her crying, "Though I wish it had been...then I may have been able to stop..." Jesse bit her lip as she thought about how she'd just panicked and run - there was no way she could have saved him, but had she a Raiment that could turn back time, perhaps she may have been able to meet him elsewhere...somewhere where he would never have...
She hated how every thought seemed to cause more tears to fall, but even through her sobbing, Rin appeared to sit there, listening with the patience of the Saints...at least until the Husky seemed to form her own answers with Jesse's inability to get her words out... Now, risking a sideward glance towards her roommate, the Fox quickly realised that Rin was also on the verge of tears and turned round, reaching out to her friend and wrapping her arms tightly around the girl... "I'm Sorry Rin..."
Not wanting to get the Shifter's own clothing damp as the tears began to flow again, Jesse would wipe her face with her wrist before attempting to stop her lip from quivering, "It wasn't a vision...because I was there..." She said, drawing back, aware that the closeness may not have been something Rin would have appreciated for too long, "I remember it now...in the Forest...by the Market..." Her face seemed to lose all expression for a moment, yet her teary gaze once again seemed to focus on nothing as she remembered, looking through the Shifter rather than at her... "Nanashi..."
The need to blink caused another ripple in the river that flowed down her cheeks, but she continued as though telling a tale like those which children told around campfires... "I've spent weeks walking that same, foggy trail...but..." another blink and she suddenly locked eyes with her friend, her ears flicking forward as though ready to hear all answers she gave, "You remember...he wanted to show me that book?" Always fascinated in books, she'd been excited to see it, but had decided to spend the morning with her roommate first - seeing as though they were starting to slowly get acquainted with one another - any time together was another positive building block in the pair's growing friendship...
"I went to meet him when we parted ways..." her ears flicked outward again and her vision glazed slightly as she recalled the scene which had finally been revealed to her that very morning, "I heard sounds...and turned to look..." She wished she hadn't but she could see that dark silhouette - its face had yet to be revealed to her, but she saw it's long arm holding the male aloft, watched him struggle...and fall as his body became limp... "I heard him cry out and I...just...ran..." That damned bottom lip started to quiver again - she could feel her face creasing and tried so hard to keep her eyes from closing to let more tears fall, "I should have done something...!" she dropped her head, her ears flopping forward with the motion as she began to whimper again...

Her roommate seemed to dismiss her dream as a vision... Catherine was unsure if that was just denial, or that it really wasn't. Though it may also have been just that... A terrible, terrible dream. Real or not though she could not blame why Jesse was so traumatised, after all... This was a guy she had strong feelings for. She could not see the reason for it, although Rin had barely known either of them initially... Who knows how long Jesse and Nanashi knew each other. Even still, seeing the Fox girl like this certainly wasn't calming Rins own waterworkings.
She was truly speechless now. Part of the Husky felt if she opened her mouth her composure would break before she could get a word in. While Catherine gaze would begin to lower to the ground in her loss for words, Jesse had turned and hugged her, apologising..? "H-huh, Je- So... Rry..?" The Shifter stuttered, overloaded from the emotions as well as being caught off guard. Rin went quiet once more to hear Jesse continue... She seemed to "remember" witnessing what happened to the boy mentioned. It wasn't a dream, OR a vision... But something that seemed to have hidden itself in her head..? Catherine however was more focused on the slight relief she felt, learning her own fears were mistaken... But it would have been worse to think that her friend had been right there when it had happened.
Jesse went through what had happened the day they went to town, the day Nanashi brought that strange book... One thing puzzled her though. Why was Jesse apologising..? Did she feel like she did something wrong by going off to find Nanashi that day? Honestly? Rin would have gone along with whatever Jesse chose to do that day. The poor Fennec girl was so down that day, as long as she went being to back herself, Rin did not care what the method. If anything Rin felt sorry for not being there when Jesse saw what she was describing... No longer able to keep quiet when her roommate spoke about how she should have done something other than run, Rin returned the embrace and whimpered as she'd speak. "No! D-don't... Don't say that... " It felt like her voice was leaving her, she would sniffle and sob slightly herself... Allowing herself a second to compose herself.
Rin opened her mouth against, though a little more confidence behind her voice. "There was nothing you could have done... How would... H-how would Nanashi have felt if you... Threw your life away..." It didn't feel right speaking for a boy she hardly knew, but something told Rin he would not have wanted Jesse to get hurt either. "...How would your friends feel..." Her strength left her for a second as the Husky released her friend. She wanted to say more, but... What. What else CAN she say? Rin had no experience like that. The only thing she ever RAN from... Was hatred. She could not possibly relate to what her roommate must be feeling right now.

Jesse's eyes widened slightly as Rin returned her embrace - her own arms were initially limp, with little energy, nor the want to actually move before finding their way back around her roommate as she too began to sob... Rin was right though...there was nothing she could have done... Her chin rested upon the Husky's shoulder as she drew attention to the fact that, had she thrown her own life away to try and save him, what would Nanashi have had to say about it? How would her friends have felt if she had perished out in the snow alongside him?
She wanted to apologise, partially for the way she was, but also because she had also upset her Friend. Jesse was uncertain how long they'd shared that embrace, but when they finally parted, the Fennec Child would once again dry her eyes with her palms before looking towards her roommate,
"I need to tell someone..." With most of her dream - and the reason for her memory loss now revealed to her, she knew she needed to let someone know that there was a killer in the midst... Although, with all the time that had passed - where her dreams had just been that everlasting foggy forest, what was to say the dark figure were still in Eoana...? Or hadn't killed others who had been deemed to have disappeared...
"I can't let him just become another missing student..." She still felt terrible for how she'd felt about Nanashi over that time, but now that she knew the truth, there had to be a way to help him...to at least bring his killer to justice... "But I couldn't see their face...I don't know who...hurt him..." She didn't want to say killed...she still couldn't believe that the boy who had protected her back when Eoana was attacked, the guy who always tried to brighten her day when she was feeling low...was gone...
"Will...you come with me?" Even without a face that could pick the killer from the crowd, she had to tell someone... Taking Rin's hand lightly, she looked her friend in her dampened eyes, "I don't know who best to tell...but I have to say something..."

Once the pair parted from the quiet embrace Catherine looked to her roommate, at the very least she APPEARED to be better... Even still it likely take time for the Fox to come to terms with what had happened. But it was an improvement. Not wanted to let any more tears shed, Rin waiting patiently for her friend to do whatever she wants, and hopefully the small Fennec girl kept herself together.
Then she gave her next move. Jesse spoke that she needed to tell somebody what she just mentioned... Not wanting Nanashi to become another missing person case. Rin could only nod her head in agreement. If someone... Or someTHING had harmed him, who can say whether or not it's related to the other people who disappeared? Somebody could be going around killing people..! The common thing with the disappearances though... Most of seemed to have gone into that forest. So... It may be important for action to be taken. Starting there. "...Right... Even if we don't know who... YOU know... It was no accident." Catherine's gaze narrowed, little tear beads still lingering on the corners of her cautious stare. To think... Rin, Gin, Thanya... They could very well have become victims back then. It was scary to think about. If Jesse was going to speak up, Rin felt no reason to not help.
Rin nodded again at Jesse's request that she came. That wasn't even a question worth asking. She'd look down to their hands and let loose a deep sigh before her eyes returned to her friends. "Jesse. You don't even need to ask." As she answered the Husky stood up and, though a little reluctant, released her friends hand and went to her side to grab the first set of clothes she could to get dressed. "...Who do you have in mind? The Court Mages..?" The girl would ask, changing into her clothes. While awaiting an answer Rin would return to the Fox's side and seat herself on the end of the bed, her expression still that of concern for her roommate. She couldn't feel at ease until her roommate was back to her old self.

At her friend's words that she didn't even need to ask in order for Rin to accompany her on her little quest, Jesse would smile - albeit a small one - for the first time that morning...Admittedly, it would fade a little as the Husky left her side to get dressed, but the Fox quickly understood that if they were to actually go anywhere and find someone to tell, they really needed to get changed out of their night cloths first...
"Who do I have in mind...?" At first, she was unsure, they definitely needed to find someone who was older, wiser...but as Rin mentioned the Court Mages, one man in particular sprung to the Fennec Child's mind - the same one who had shown a general concern as to how she was faring following her stay in the Infirmary, "I think Gannon would be a good start..." but what if he was busy? Her ears would flop back as she pondered that, but there wasn't just the one teacher available and so at that thought, she would nod with a brief flash of determination, "Maybe we can try his office,"
As Rin returned to the bed, Jesse would take her own opportunity to change, making her way over to her closet before opening it and glancing through the selection of clothes she had either brought from home - or bought from Leo's Tailor Shop when she'd been helping there... They were all so lovely...but most of them she'd worn when she'd gone out with Nanashi...and the thought of wearing anything that she had done when she'd been with him made her little heart ache so...
"There has to be something in here..." She would frown, taking a brief second to wipe away another stray tear from the corner of her eyes before delving into the cluster of clothes before her... After a few minutes of fumbling, the Fennec Child would slip on a small collection of things - none of which would be very colourful, but having found a shawl, she knew she could pull it over her head like a hood to hide the fact she'd been crying...
As soon as she felt she was ready, Jesse would make her way back over to where Rin had sat waiting patiently on the end of the Fox's bed, "I think...I'm ready," She would nod, taking a second to ensure the shawl covering her ears wasn't sticking out at a silly angle before holding an unsteady hand out to her roommate - When Rin was ready, Jesse would walk with her friend to the door and then towards the office where she hoped Gannon Noble might just be in residence...
