My response came swift. The right arm of the armor came off, and with it went the sword. My fingers curled around the hilt of my sword and I pulled back as hard as I could just when the armor jumped back, allowing me to retrieve my sword from it and remain armed. I held my sword with both hands and let my chakra course through it, once again having the embers sprout in my sword. The armor came at me and I heard Usien call out for me. “I’m a little busy right now…” I spat back at him as I began to run toward the suit of armor. I responded to the animated force before me with a sideways slash. It began at the palm of the armor’s hand and would look slice its left arm clean in two. The arc of my slash would culminate at the base of its shoulder. I retracted my arm as the chakra remined on my blade and unleashed three quick blows. The first was a short and powerful stab aimed at the armor’s head. The second was a quick downward slash, looking to split the armor’s head in half, and the third was another powerful stab at the center mass of the armor. If that proved to be enough, I would turn to Usien. With my weapon still in hand, I focused my chakra and jumped toward Usien and Yumiru’s clone, bringing my weapon over my head. As I approached, I brought the sword down on the armor’s crown with the hope of splitting the helmet in half.

Just as expected. He deflected against the attack but he couldn't stop. Another attack could of easily gotten to him as he was left wide open. His saving grace? The girl in the back. The third member of the cell came through with a clone. The clone latching onto the armor, he would see the opening. He had to take it. Even if he would fail. He go down trying!!! Swinging his scythe, he would go for two slashes. A slash across the mid section of the armor before going for another strike. Catching a glimpse of Taki coming to help, he would reposition his attack. Instead of going for the arm, he go for the dome along with Taki. He tried keep up with his speed and power. Obviously failing but two strikes to the dome. This had to do it right? "Aaaaaaaaahhhhh!!!" He would yell while striking.

[Any time I'm not told what the rank of an attack is, I'm assuming unranked, fyi. So if it was intended to be ranked, keep that in mind for the future.]
Taiki's blade cleaved into the armor's hand but only made it about half way up its arm before it stopped and he was forced to pull it free in order to proceed. However, the yokai did stagger again, this time retreating several feet backward with a sudden burst of energy--toward the detached arm and sword--avoiding the triple slash to its head. With space now between it and Taiki, it was able to recover somewhat. The arm lying in the snow began to twitch for a moment before it slowly rose from the ground to reattach to its right side.
Usein's scythe cut clean into the armor of the yokai's abdomen, but because it felt no pain it didn't flinch. The cut also did nothing to hinder it, so with a small amount of energy, it broke free of the clone, causing the clone to disperse and fall as a puddle of water to the ground, and lifted its blade to meet the strike(s) from above. The sword it held pulsed with a dark chakra and, even though the creature barely held the weapon(s) back, not even a dent was made to the rusted blade.
However, before it could get any other attacks off, Yumiru called out from behind the pair, having evidently sprinted up just behind them. "Get back!" she said, forming a string of hand seals. Raising a hand to her lips, she exhaled between the two and... nothing happened. Not at first anyway. But once the other two retreated a spark of flame formed between her fingers. She threw it forward.
And the air between the sets of armor exploded.
All the snow in about a twenty foot radius instantly vaporized. While the blast was fairly contained, it was likely enough still to push the other two party members back, if not make them lose balance. The animated armors didn't fair so well. The one that Taiki had struck several times by that point was in pieces, although the helmet was still in tact. The other, the one that faced Usein was still whole but struggling to get back up.
Leaving the other two to focus on the one that was still moving, Yumiru removed the hammer from her back and, with a mighty cry, brought it down on the helmet of the broken one, smashing the mask under it. There was a small burst of dark energy, but then the armor fell completely still.

At this point, I was very frustrated. Frustrated at myself that I couldn’t get this armor to stay the hell down when I hit it, frustrated at this entire mission because neither me nor Usien were ready to deal with it. “I swear I’ve just about had it with you!” Yumiru’s voice caught my attention. It was very close, close enough for me to look back and snap me from my newly developed and short-lived rage. “What are you-“ She pushed me back before I could say anything, and next thing I knew and explosion rocked the area, decimating the armor sets, finishing off the one I had substantially weakened, and the other one’s movements seemed impaired, as if the blow from her technique had substantially weakened it. “Usien, lets go in together this time.” I told my partner, gripping my sword tightly. I took a couple of steps forward, gripped my sword with both hands and brought it down at the helmet. I followed up with a sideways slash on the helmet, going from right to left in hopes of knocking it off and sending it in Usien’s direction. With that, I turned my head back to Yumiru. “That would have been really helpful five minutes ago! If you can do that, what do you even need us for?!”

In fact she seemed somewhat lacking in any emotion as she came forward and stood before him, eyes traveling slowly around his body, his limbs, his face. Stepping closer she lightly touched the wounds upon his body with an expression of pain. Turning her gaze back to his she opened her mouth to speak and couldn't, and for some reason a hurt expression came upon her face before she stepped back and gave Kaileer space. Holding out one hand she hoped to offer him a shoulder to lean on if he needed it. But she couldn't help looking saddened when her eyes caught another wound, and more than a little anxious. tab tab

These things were not giving up! His strikes, some connected but his combo was stopped by a blade of it's own. Dark Chakra. However, to Usien, it was something foreign. He could recognize it as chakra, but he didn't have the full scope on it. Luckily, back up was there. He as fully complying on leaving and moving away from the situation. Jumping away, Usien would see the air exploded around the armor. Fire jutsu!!! A fierce and strong one. Admiring the destruction, Taki ended up shocking Usien back to reality, "YEAH. LET'S DO IT!" Usien stated as he would get in sync. Coming down on the dome with Taki, his scythe would come down along with his blade onto the dome of the helmet. Afterwards, he thought they were done but Taki had sent the helmet flying towards him. Caught off guard, he would get smacked in the head with it. "s**t!!"

Taiki and Usein's downward swings onto the struggling yokai's helm definitely cracked the mask, which caused its form to start twitching spasmodically before the body fell still altogether when the head was removed. The remainder of the set of armor collapsed into a heap of, well, armor--heavily damaged and basically useless, though it had been rusted to begin with and probably bore little value. However, when Usein was hit with the helmet instead of destroying it, it fell to the ground. The nearby pile of armor jerked and thrashed as it was slowly pulled toward the helmet.
Yumiru came to the rescue, bringing her hammer down on the scrap of metal, crushing the mask completely, and the armor fell still once more. "I'm your support. If I use up all of my chakra, who will get you out of here in one piece?" She gave Taiki a small grin, looking about as tired as the pair probably felt. "Separate the pieces of armor so it won't get repossess--"
She cut off as the cry started up from within the cave again, coming closer this time. And from the darkness stepped a goblinoid with vibrant red skin and a cracked oni mask. The snow around it hissed as black liquid dripped from an oozing gash through one of its shoulders. In one fist it held a small creature, maybe six inches tall at best. It appeared to be made out of scraps of bark and foliage. In the yokai's other hand it held a ball of fire. It held the orb closer to the tiny creature, a crazed grin showing through the bits of the mask that were missing. "Unless you want it to die, back up," it hissed in a harsh voice.
Yumiru's eyes widened a bit and she took a guarded step back, letting the other two take the forefront again.

Even though I knew she'd been fine because my Oath hadn't been broken, it was still a relief seeing Fiorzia emerge from the bushes. But her expression was dangerously neutral, with a small tinge of sadness to it as she looked over me. She looked like she wanted to say something, but as usual couldn't. First time out of the village in three months and I was mildly hurt. It didn't really bother me--outside of various patches of skin stinging enough to make my eyes water--but I knew she was upset. I'd probably get an earful for it later. I gave her the best reassuring smile that I could. "I'll be fine, I promise. It's nothing serious." I held up my hands quickly then, halting the attempt at a rebuke I knew was coming. "And I'll get myself looked at when we get back. Okay?"
It honestly didn't matter if she agreed or not because I would be fine. Not even the cold was a problem because of the amulet I found. Which was even better because then the extra set of winter clothes could go to someone else. Retrieving the flare stick from the tree it had been left it, I took one more sweeping glance of the battlefield, still half wondering how I'd gotten out of it mostly unscathed, and headed back up the path going north.
The snow was still coming down in droves. The sooner I could get back the better. I was exhausted after the sudden burst of energy when I'd been mostly sitting around for so long. Yeah, I'd been training and keeping up my strength, but damn, I felt out of practice. Not to mention my old injuries were causing my shoulder and hip to hurt again from the activity. So the journey home ended up being a more painful one than I'd originally hoped for, and I took my time to avoid the worst of it.

Hearing Yumiru caused my lips to crack into a smile. “Give me a couple of weeks of training and we’ll see who will be getting who back to the city in one piece.” I looked to Usien and then to the armors as she gave us the instructions. “Good work Usien, we should probably head into the…” My words were cut short by a crying sound that came from the cave. My body turned quickly, gripping the sword tight and ready to go for whatever came out of there. That… thing held on to a small creature, another one of those spirits that Kaileer had talked about. This one was so small it couldn’t hurt a fly. I felt increasingly tired, that fight earlier took more out of me than it should have, and I had the sinking suspicion that Yumiru and Usien were more or less on the same boat. “Listen buddy. There’s three of us and one of you, if you let it go alive and answer our questions no one else has to die. But if you kill it, I assure you that you will be joining it to whatever hell you sent it very soon.” With that, I slightly turned my face to look at Yumiru. “I assume you’re the one that made us strong, you wouldn’t happen to have something that makes us go fast do you?” I mumbled to her and then turned back to face the red skinned devil that stood before us.

"Honestly, I think we all could use some more training. Me especially, I feel like I getting carried through this like I'm an academy student" he joked feeling a little bit more comfortable in the situation. He was still a little worried in case their journey brought stronger enemies. Before receiving a full compliment, cries came from the cave. Usien would follow them deeper, coming upon a creature. A creature he never seen before. He remember Kaileer explained something in his office that seemed similar to the object. When threatened, Usien gripped his scythe, prepared in case for what may come. "Just for ignorance sake, what happens if that creature kills it?"

Yumiru turned a wide-eyed gaze to Taiki as he spoke to her. "Y-yes, but..." She wasn't sure if he was planning on attacking it, or running. It would probably let the trio go if they ran, and she wasn't so sure if it could keep up in its injured state anyway. But if the plan was to attack, having spent as much energy as they had, the fight would still be difficult. "That's an Amanojaku. They're a type of Oni and are relentless once they start fighting. They're not as physically tough as the Armors, but they're stronger and faster. The thing in its hand is some sort of Sprite I'm unfamiliar with. Nothing will necessarily happen if it dies, I think, but... letting it die is cruel."
The yokai seemed to bristle and held the ball of fire close to the sprite again. "Enough chattering! Leave, or else!"
Yumiru flinched, but finally directly answered Taiki's question. "I have a minor boost and a major one. The minor one might not be enough to outpace it, but the major one requires me to stand still."

My lips pressed hard against each other and I let out a soft sigh. “Speed me up, Yumiru.” I whispered at the end of my sigh, holding onto my sword. Icy eyes fixated on the ghoul before the group. “I was hoping you wouldn’t say that.” My voice was hard and I didn’t wait one more second than I had to. I erupted forward; there was little chance for me to attack it before it killed the sprite, but if this was the creature that killed those people, I wasn’t about to let it go. Plus, we had no real guarantee that it wouldn’t kill the sprite once we were gone anyway. That thing was as good as dead regardless of what we did. Or so I told myself. As I approached it, I rose my weapon and delivered three quick slashes; first a powerful upward slash aimed at the creature’s wrist, the one that was holding the orb. The second one was a downward slash at the opposite arm’s elbow, and the third was a downward sideways cut at center mass.

"Then maybe we should ...." Before he could finish he would see the other alreasy was charging. He wanted to attack and wanted the speed boost. Usien believed it wasn't important. He bekiebed to not use it and conserved chakra. However, as things occurred Usien used his scythe and prepare a defense stance. Since she couldn't move if she use the big boost Usien was going to protect her while Taiki takes care of the Toni. "Dont worry. I will protect you!"

Yumiru grimaced at Taiki's decision but complied, since he charged before she got a chance to rebuke. Making a quick series of hand seals, she dropped to one knee. As she did, both Taiki and Usein would feel another boost in their strength. They felt lighter on their feet, and found that they could move significantly faster. She, however, didn't look all that great after releasing so much chakra.
Taiki's attack, after the sudden burst of speed, hit the creature in the arm as it tried to move out of the way. Not in the wrist as intended but enough damage that it lost the fireball. However, the other two strikes of the attack missed as the yokai slid just out of reach, its body jittering slightly as if struggling to keep a physical form. The attack was launched in just enough time before Taiki would feel the strength boost from earlier fade away, likely leaving him feeling a bit drained.
The yokai was bristling now, looking more than a little angry. The hand wrapped around the sprite tightened and the creature cried out in pain and fear which, strangely enough, seemed to revitalize the yokai, even if only slightly. This brought a chorus of cries from the cave behind it as well. Switching the now limp sprite to his injured hand, it drew a blade from a small scabbard at its side and took up a stance, dagger held loosely in its grip at its side. And it waited, this time almost egging Taiki on.

It was time to change strategy. I jumped back and sheathed my sword before the creature took its stance and as I flew through the air began to weave hand signs. Once weaved, I breathed in, filling my lungs, but held the chakra-infused air in my lungs. Instead of releasing it at once as one normally would when doing a fireball jutsu, I held it in and began to run toward the goblin, weaving another set as I barreled toward it. Suddenly, I released the air from my lungs, but instead of a ball of fire, what was released was a plume of smoke that expanded as I kept moving. The plume of smoke would expand, and if the creature did not move, it would completely cover it, and burn it, and everyone caught inside, except for me, the caster. As the plume of smoke went forth, I began to weave a second set of hand signs that only stopped after the creature was completely covered by the smoke. At that point in time, I created two smoke clones, one directly next to me and another behind the creature. The power of my searing smokescreen coming to true fruition: the ability to cast smoke-based techniques from any other point in the smoke. The smoke clone casted behind the creature unsheathed its weapon as it was still mid creation and stabbed forward the creature’s leg, aiming to strike it at the knee, or maybe even slash its tendon. The plan was to incapacitate it, use the smoke as a screen to hide myself with and confuse the creature, and using this to create a clone and strike it from behind. A fight was rarely ever honorable, but those who fought with honor usually found themselves dead at the end of the day.

Searing Smoke: Smokescreen [C rank power, D Rank Speed - By weaving the fire seal and focusing fire chakra onto their lungs, user breathes out, releasing a steady stream of chakra that transforms into smoke, into an area up to 10x10x10 feet. Those caught inside of the smokescreen can't see outside of it, and those outside of the smoked area cannot see inside. The smoke is infused with embers that burn those inside the longer they remain, doing the equivalent of D rank fire damage per post. The smoke lasts for five posts. The creator of the smokescreen can focus their chakra onto the smokescreen and make any point of the screen the point of creation of any smoke-based fire style technique they know. Unlike normal fire style jutsu, smoke-based fire style techniques are countered by wind instead of water.] (-15 chakra)
Searing Smoke: Clone [B Rank Power, C Rank Speed - The user holds a single seal and then releases a stream of smoke from their mouth which forms itself into up to two solid clones made of smoke. The clones are able to turn themselves into intangible, making them great for scouting or entering places with small crevices. Doing so consumes all of their activations for one post. Searing Smoke clones are able to use any smoke-related katon jutsu known by the user. Upon being destroyed by a hostile force, the clones turn into a searing smokescreen 10x10x10 [or into two 5x5x5 clouds if there are two clones]. (-30 chakra)

PA - Fire Brand: By adding the tiger seal at the beginning of maruton techniques, Taiki is able to alter the very nature of the technique, transforming it into a fire style jutsu.
PA - Pathfinder: Every 25 posts, Taiki is able to roll a 8 sided dice. If it lands on a 1 or an 8 , Taiki obtains a randomly generated type of map (4 sided, 1 is a small, 2 is a medium, 3 is a large and 4 is an epic).
