R'min was always ready for the fight. Even though this was a rough Threadfall, he was prepared to lay down his life for the Weyr if necessary. Thankfully, Antereth was fast, and strong, and clever; though it was a sharding mess, he felt confident. A gust of wind put Antereth in danger, a silver tangle reaching up to score them both, but a quick jump Between cleared them of any harm.

Sabina and Green Keziath
Flying desperately over the area where they had last seen P'kav and Dharmath, the dragon and rider pair searched intently. While they were so occupied, they were able to flame thread easily from the sky... but...
Oh no. Realization dawned as their wingmate did not return, and Keziath let out a keen of grief and loss, and of terrible, terrible shame and pain. Nooooo! Nooo! Oh no! Nooo! He is gone! They are gone! And it was her fault!

R'min had known that the wind would be bad, but he hadn't been prepared for the strong gusts. Even his beloved Antereth, who was a master of the skies, couldn't seem to fight being battered and pushed around. Thankfully, Antereth was strong, and capable, and valiantly managed to stay in formation.
We've got this... Would be easy if the wind just died down! He noted with a small laugh.
He felt Antereth give a snort. We've got this, indeed, says the man attached to my back. The acidic comment was laced with good humor and affection... mostly.

The pair continued through the fight, though a shock of pain and grief surprised R'min. So focused on Thread falling around him, and Antereth, he hardly knew what was going on with his fellow wingmates. Dharmath! Amid the wind and the sounds of flaming dragons, R'min heard the keen of dragons mourning as they fought the enemy. Antereth joined the cry, keening between bursts of flame. One minute the bronzerider was there, now...one more empty chair at the dinning hall.
R'min felt nothing but shock. Threadfall had only just begun and already they had lost a wingmate. Was this bad luck getting out of the way early or was it an omen for things to come? As if answering his thoughts, another gust blew Antereth well out of formation, causing the blue to struggle and fight through. There was a pull of pain, but it meant little besides the ache and loss of Dharmath.

As they appeared from Between, the wind buffeted the massive bronze as it did the rest of their wing. A quick correction and Turoth flew on, unaffected and steady. Ar'ad adjusted his goggles from the blast and crouched a bit lower over his dragon's neck, letting his wide head cut through the air for them. Time to get to work.

They flew strong and steady for a few minutes undisturbed, but Turoth caught one of their wingmates out of the corner of his eye unawares to Thread falling their way. It seemed he wasn't the only one to notice as another bronze dragon jumped into action - Nasath, he recognized after a moment - but he couldn't rely on their wings to get them there in time.
Jumping between, he reappeared in the ash of Thread that had just been burned away by his fellow bronze. Not only had Nasath saved their wingmate but himself as well.
Thank you, Nasath. That was quick thinking, he called to his fellow bronze, Ar'ad turning to give A'iel a quick salute of thanks as well.

It seemed their new position was one they'd hold for a moment as another large clump of thread fell from above. Turoth didn't waste any time this go-round and let loose a massive flame, burning the clump as it fell.
Wonderful shot, Turoth, Ar'ad complimented, the bronze humble enough not to puff up with pride at his rider's words. This was just the beginning of a tough flight, after all. He'd accept praise when they returned home with little to no injury.

Winging back to their spot in the formation, Turoth and Ar'ad kept an eye out for any Thread that made it through the upper tier. They seemed to be doing a good job, though, because only a few little threads made it down. They took care of them quickly and restocked on firestone, Turoth chewing methodically as he kept an eye out for more things to light up.

Flying on, Ar'ad and Turoth weren't expecting the sudden appearance of a wingmate to their immediate left, nor the flame that suddenly was spouted their way. Turoth dropped quickly but not before taking a bit of flame damage to his flank, a snarl of pain leaving him. It wasn't very bad, though, superficial at best, but boy that stung.

So focused on the Threadfall around them, R'min hardly noticed the danger below. By sheer chance he saw the danger and the flash of silver from below. Up, up, up! He ordered. Thankfully, he already had a destination in mind, and Antereth took it--disappearing before they found themselves in a tangle.

Zipping through the sky, R'min found that there was a patch of clear sky around them. He took the opportunity to lean forward and give Anterath a hard thump on the side of his neck. The blue's keening had quieted, but his bright blue hide was visibly ashen. We'll mourn properly when we get back. He assured him.
It still didn't feel real that P'kav and Dharmath were gone. It wouldn't really hit him until they landed and were able to better process the shock. R'min almost wanted to ask if there was any word about C'sar and Illiandinth, but knew it wouldn't be right.
If something happened, Antereth would let him know. No news, it seemed, was good news... at least he could only hope.

Ansheth and O'dyn are fighting Thread!
Not well, it seemed.
O’dyn had miscalculated. He knew it, as soon as they reemerged from Between. The wind had gusted unpredictably; now where Ansheth was, there was also Thread. And it was eating him alive. The screams of pain were both inside and outside of his body. The dragon roared in fury, the pain searing through their bond.
Between! He urged the poor beast, iron-edged instinct taking over once more. No. Not today. He would go home. They would both go home.
They reappeared from Between, Ansheth bellowing with renewed fury and pain. His front was badly lacerated from Thread’s deadly bite, but his eyes were filled with a red hatred so fierce that he would not be deterred. I WILL fly! Such unexpected savagery- O’dyn pulled his bondmate back from his anger. Steady. Keep a calm mind.

They continued to fight Thread!
Even as the winds buffeted them, Ansheth roared and flamed as needed. The adrenaline pumped through both dragon and man, but O’dyn stayed focused as Ansheth let his primal instincts come to the fore.
