...manage to hop between just as the mass of withering silver hits Therianth in the right leg. Her whine of pain was cut off as they hopped between and when she emerged again it was sporting a few new burns that would scar up silver on her grey green hide.

For a little while things seemed to be going all right. A slight movement or something made Shahera glance over her shoulder and she spotted the lone silver strand that was about to wind itself around Therianth's tail. Quickly the pair went between and came out higher. They weren't able to get the strand and had to hope that the Queens wing would be able to catch it before it got to the ground.

It was a little while later that Thespeth pulled the same trick. T'tain had the same reaction of disbelief as the thread burned away. You are getting better at this. Was all he could say. Smug satisfaction radiated from his dragon.

The wind had seemed to calmed down for a moment when suddenly it was pushing them off course. Thespeth backwinged trying to stay in place but was unable to avoid being pushed around and T'tain could only hold on. Unfortunately there was a clump of thread right there. As soon as they could T'tain directed them between but there was damage done.

A streak of pain and alarm went through T'tain and he knew it wasn't Thread. A wordless question got his answer. Thespeth had bit his tongue. Not fatal but something that could distract and needed to be aware of.

Zallea had to wonder if she was doing something wrong, like offended Thread’s mother or something. It seemed to be angling for them constantly, which was fine really, this was what they were supposed to be combating, but seriously. They weren’t even in the thick of it! Her cursing turned louder as a sheet suddenly was blown onto them from above, the sound stolen from her as they hopped Between and back.
Zallea took inventory of herself. You okay, babe?

Both rider and dragon were laser-focused in on the task at hand, and when the clump of thread sailed by, they dove, flames roaring out to deftly scorch it, leaving nothing at all behind without breaking formation OR a sweat.

The air was gusty even this low... but thankfully what little weight Ovshth had held steady, and they carved through the air with only a mild shudder.

Quick as a shot the brown darted forward, running down thread to sear it to ash. A minute later he let out a mild hiss—the ash was still hot when he flew through, the downside to being fast for his side.

Still shaking off the face-full of hot ash, Ovshth saw the thread too late to veer wide. It hit square on, and though it was thankfully small, still prompted a leap between, to freeze away the stinging, biting strands.

Adarith began to Flame the moment they appeared in the fray, T'sar a bit shaken as usual but thankful to start at the Low Altitude. Eventually they settled into a nice groove, graceful and powerful and perfect. Adarith's flame found each Thread it sought and they made it look easy. Right up until the wind shifted and blew back the ash cloud into dragon and rider. Whoops.

C'sar of Bronze Illiandinth
It had seemed to be going so well, but C'sar should have known better. One moment, he and Illiandinth had been fine, the next moment, they blinked between right into a large clump of thread. Illiandinth let out a squeal of pain as they were both marked cruelly by the twisting, writhing thread before a blink back between saved them from further damage.
