[+3 Target Accuracy!] If brown or bronze, they don't need as much speed, and instead belch a long flame, catching all three with ease. +1 Target Accuracy, +2 Flame Length!]

With the winds having picked up, Orokath found himself concentrating more on riding the thermals- which seemed to pay off in his favour. He seared Thread in three magnificent manoeuvres, leaving Korui smiling with relief.

Ouch! Feeding your dragon some firestone has resulted in them biting their tongue! This is going to distract your dragon for the next three rolls. Their flaming aim will go down, and they might be slower to dodge out of Thread's way. [Tongue Bitten Effect! Your dragon is distracted by pain. No XP will be earned for the next 3 rolls. Any successes will be nullified. Should you roll a prompt with the possibility of damage, take the max damage allotted for your size/color automatically but it will also end the Tongue Bitten Effect immediately.]

Koruika passed Orokath more firestone, at his request, but was unprepared for the sharp hiss of pain that followed. She winced in sympathy, knowing a bitten tongue was never a good sign for a dragon. Come on. Let's get you back to the ground for a check-up. I don't want you being distracted, and they need to look at your wings. They hadn't lasted as long as she had hoped before needing rest, but they had done their best. Besides, left to his own devices, Orokath would have fought until Thread consumed him.

Negoncath's cry was loud and piercing, as their wingsecond's flame accidentally crisps her neck and chest-- though the moment they return from the cooling void of between, thread's right there to greet them. It laced around her face, biting into her delicate muzzle even as Nonami sends them into between once more to cool it.

Vuurth didn't like being this low - there wasn't a whole lot of heroing to do, in this opinion. But that meant he was completely on the alert when a clump of thread fell thru - and he burned it down eagerly.

Your dragon is starting to feel tired. This particular fight is wearing them down. A strong gust of winds tries to throw them out of their position. Roll a D4 to see what happens!
1. Your dragon successfully recovers, and keeps in formation. [+1 Stamina]

Even tho the lower altitudes weren't particularly windy, Vuurth was feeling wound up and it was making him wear himself out. Li'tt frowned. Buddy, calm down or you won't get the next one. he warned before sending the blue along on more productive uses of his energy.

Your dragon flames a small strand of thread, but unfortunately, a gust of wind blows the ash back into you. Your dragon hisses in pain, and if your face isn't protected, you might get a burn yourself! Thankfully, the burn isn't severe, and your dragon at least can carry on. [+1 Pain Resilience // -2 HP]

Vuurth hissed with annoyance, blinking his eyes and shaking his head to clear the ash from it - with a little help from Li'tt's more dextrous fingers. But it seemed his eyes were fine, at least, and they could go on without a problem.

Trying valiantly to catch some thread, your dragon flames a bit sooner than you would have preferred. Surprisingly enough, the flame is long, hot, and sustained longer than usual. Your dragon manages to flame the clump and return to their position in their wing. [+1 Flame Length]

Overeagerness to flame should have been a shortcoming in this instance - Vuurth had been determined to catch that clump of Thread before anybody else could, after all. So when his flame actually reached it, it was to the surprise of both dragon and rider.

Edalla and Moilath was still smarting from being flamed by one of their wingseconds, as they switched to the low altitude with the rest of their wing. Edalla had fumed about it to her dragon, but she knew better than to yell at him. Plus, as Moilath reminded, she felt they were feeling terrible about it. Not to mention, they had other things to worry about, as they noticed some Thread slip through from above.

Moilath...she instructed.

I am on it, Mine,Moilath assured, seeing some of their wingmates in the path of the Thread. That gave her the extra boost she needed to make a beautiful maneuver and burn that Thread down.

Mid Altitude (Hour 1/Round 1)

Mid Altitude (Hour 1/Round 2)
1) 16. The wind is fierce and fighting you. Greens, and blues will struggle against it, trying valiantly to keep in formation! [+1 Stamina] Browns and Bronzes can feel the strain, but it's nothing they can't seem to handle. [+3 Stamina]
2) 11. The wind is rough, but you and your dragon are managing. You get a breather as your dragon flies into a small break of Threadfall. The upper altitudes must be doing a good job sweeping up!
3) 4. You're so focused on flaming Thread that you miss a clump of thread blows up on the wind -- beneath you! If a greeen, or blue, you manage to jump Between ahead of it. Thankfully, your smaller size means you're able to avoid getting harmed! [+1 Between Accuracy] If a brown or bronze, your heavier size does cause your tail to get caught! [+1 Between Accuracy & Minor Damage - 2 HP!]
4) 5. Wheeling, flaming, catching thermals, fighting wind.... Threadfall is nothing if not exhausting. Greens, and blues find themselves panting with exhaustion. This is more tiring than they thought. Trying to come up from a dive, they struggle on wing and wind up getting blown right into some thread. Ouch! [+1 Stamina, Moderate Damage -4 HP ] Browns and bronzes aren't having quite as bad a time, their stamina having always been programmed to be a bit more hearty. [+3 Stamina]
5) 18. Thread falls, and a sneaky strand winds up chewing on your wingsail. You pop Between to ease the pain, and come out flaming. It hurts, but it's small tubers compared to what it could have been! +1 Pain Resilience]

-5HP from wingsecond roll

Low Altitude (Hour 2/Round 1)
1) 12. By Faranth! You and your dragon pull off a pretty awesome move to catch some Thread that's fallen through. You're able to save one of your Wingmates! Quote one of your Wingmates who took damage this Round! This will remove damage and any possible negative effect from that roll!

Seeming to find her stride after the snafu, Negoncath surged forward with a renewed burst of speed. You're low on firestone! If you've already replenished recently (within the last 5 posts) you may you may choose to skip this roll and just do a general post for no XP. OR you can keep it and blame it on a faulty bag, or some other excuse for being without stone. Call for one of the weyrlings to send you another sack of stone! [Flag down a weyrling! Post this code in your next post and see if a weyrling can get to you!

Fishing through the rapidly depleting bag of firestone, Nonami's almost wincing as their fingers hit the bottom of the bag. At least it was being put to good use. Yet they'd wave down a weyrling, remembering oh too vividly when they had been assigned that task not too long ago.

Oh dear.. Could we get some more firestone? Please?

Let's do this!
Quote:
79-94 You know your Wing, and are confident in their abilities. Part of being Wingleader or Wingsecond is caring for those you fight with! Every dragon has his or her place, as well as their strengths and weaknesses. Thankfully, you notice when someone is struggling! You call out, encouraging them to fight through the pain, the hurt, the exhaustion, and assuring them of their greatness. Quote a Wingmate and nullify any negative Status Effect immediately. If no negative status effects are in play, you may nullify a Wingmates damage instead!

9-20. Which altitude are you delivering stone?
If it's Low-Altitude Wing, your dragon makes it there just fine! No problems, no matter the color. Success!

FIRESTONE RUN

There was a call for Firestone from above and Alenciath, freshly back from the healers, seemed delighted by the clearly destined timing - Shall we? she asked Fahn who made sure they had some on them to pass over before urging her green up to the other dragon who had made the call for stone.

The low altitude was higher than they were used to yet, but it wasn't too bad. Alenciath evened out easily, flying level as Fahn held up a hand to hail Nonami before holding up the bag of stone. We've brought you and yours some firestone! Alenciath brightly informed Negoncath. Fahn, for her part, waited for the other rider to steady themself before she made the toss.

Success!
