The brown had been tailing behind, not really putting his all into it. Mainly he'd been watching the other males taking swipes at each other; some missing and some finding purchase in dragon flesh. Until the allure of flashing gold before his eyes grabbed his attention and Kleoth skimmed above the dark waves before him. Belengath inhaled and let out his best brassy roar to let her know he was still there.

Kleoth, do not count out the quiet hunter! Steady and methodical, they are slow to give up the chase. The brown chimed in. He would see this flight through to the end. His wing muscles might be starting to tremble and sore, but Belengath wasn't going to give up.

His eye, his mind, his focus, his instincts, called him to her. Deep, powerful wingbeats propelled him on trailing the path the queen cut through the air and, though he was a robust bronze, he could feel his muscles were starting to ache from his tenacious chase of the intense and radiant Kleoth. No matter the outcome, he wouldn't return to his wallow without having given his all.

Baloroth has the look of a fighter, large, well muscled, and bearing the scars of seeing action. The right side of his face and some onto his neck bear burns from a wayward blast of flame, missing the eye on that side. His body, tail, and wings are peppered with threadscore scars. He'll, of course, flame the thread if he can, but he's also the sort to take the hits for others if he needs to. Behind his typical aloofness, stubborn stick-to-itiveness, and unvoiced expectations that he often expects others to adhere to, Baloroth isn't one to shy away from work or duty and has a sincerity that can surprise some if they've more readily experienced his brusqueness.

He breathed deeply, the ocean air prickling his senses and sharpening his attention. Aleyath had once chased to tempt the sad, shining bronzes that rained from the sky following a queen's choice, but a certain goldflight over Western a little over a turn ago had given him a new goal. While his wanderlust would never truly be satisfied while the Enemy persisted, hatchlings would provide him with a score of little lives to watch and nurture and follow. Endless adventure.

Of course, the catching was fun too. He savored Kleoth's amusement, but only for a moment.

It is. His words were barely words, a wisp of a thought, but definitely an invitation.

She flapped her aching wings hard, forcing herself up, up, up! This was the critical moment before she would finally make her decision. They would catch her, or she would fall. Chase me! She exulted, dizzy with adrenaline and the demand of her instincts. They had all done so well, and later, she would feel selfish for what she had asked of them. Let us ensure the future of Pern together!

Furious that he'd missed both of his attempted attacks, Adarith angled himself upward as Kleoth began to climb. This was where he'd prove himself, show his strength and what she'd asked for at the beginning. He drove his wings hard into the air, pushing himself after the shining queen, claws grabbing at nothing as he surged up, up, up-

Again, he said nothing. As promised, he was letting his actions speak louder than any words anyone else could utter, including himself. He did bellow a roar as they continued to climb, his muscles screaming with the energy he was putting out, but he didn't cease. His adrenaline, his willpower, his desire to catch Kleoth all pushed him forward and he sent it in waves towards the queen as well. Pick me, he thought to himself, and I'll show you just how good a brown can be.

Adarith: Adarith isn't the nicest dragon out there. He is very demanding and has a very short temper, which is a combination for a volatile creature. Brimming with energy, Adarith requires mental and physical exertion to keep out of trouble. He has scars from scrapes with other dragons and he wears them with pride. He uses his demeanor and his size to his advantage and when he is the smaller dragon in a situation, he doesn't let it get to his head. Despite his rough personality he is a fierce fighter and defender of his home, and to those that can withstand his brutish ways, they can find an honorable and loyal friend and soldier beneath the dark hide.

How dare he presume to tell the lady of the hour what to do? Putting on a burst of speed, he lashed out at the other bronze with a snap of his jaws; while he didn't put as much effort into it as he had into his attack on Belengath, as his primary concern was to keep up with Kleoth as the Flight began to reach its peak, he couldn't bear to let such an attitude go entirely unchecked, and it was satisfying feel his fangs meet flesh.

But that was all he had time for - regardless of whether or not he was struck in turn, what he needed to do now was climb, higher and higher.

This time, Belsheveth is far more careful with where he is in the pack; he'd been jostled more out of the way than he'd like despite his bulk, and he gave a low rumble before putting himself to work. He'd never been an incredibly fast Bronze, although he certainly wouldn't let that stop him now. Kleoth had demanded their best, as she was owed, and he intended to give it his all. When faced with the silhouette of the queen in front of him, the fresh clawmarks tearing open on his side are utterly negligible, but twisting to avoid the rest of the dragon that had dealt them quickly consumed his attention--Belsheveth doesn't let himself bugle his indignation as he evened back out in the air, no matter how tempting it may be.

As you wish. Now, nothing else mattered. He's still dimly aware of the other males vying for her attention around him, but they aren't who he's speaking to. It would be an honor to catch you tonight, Kleoth. Pern will do well under your watch.
He's not as good at emoting as he'd like to be, and it's enough to send a flash of red whirling through his eyes; instead of fumbling through all his awkward formalities, he decides it's better to try a different path. Belsheveth doesn't try to send her all of his feelings at once, too wary of crowding her with all her other suitors so close behind. What he gives her is a small glimpse, but an earnest one all the same: his hearts held a fierce admiration for the young queen and an equally burning desire to help protect their future. He'd make no attempts at romance, but rather--respect.

Navarath hatched ferocious and battle hungry - and while he is not blind with his desire for physical competition, he can be incredibly coarse which can hide his noble nature.

T'kita is a former pit fighter who has had to prove his mettle via combat and has the lean muscle to show for it. He sees everything as a bit of a competition and will look down on those he sees as cowardly or whiny.

Uskatath was determined to draw ichor. While his ichor had already been drawn, he was determined to leave a mark on one of Kleoth's suitors. She had wished it, and while Uskatath was not a dragon known to give favors and promises, ichor was at least mutually appealing.

The dragon veered again, this time reaching out with his claws so he could rake them against the bronze Belsheveth. Unfortunately, just as he made contact, Kleoth pushed herself up, up, and up -- and Uskatath's focus snapped back to her.

While the ichor drawn on the large bronze was not much--it was still a promise kept to the gold huntress. But to stay in the game, he had to follow her -- and a vertical ascent was not easy. Still, his wings strained, even as he went up, up, and further up. Victory would only be sweet when he had Kleoth in his grasp.

Uskatath coming in for a ..... whopping -1 HP! Take that!

Uskatath: He is a bronze who fits the High Reaches ideal far more than that of Western. Though he loathes his current home, he remains out of a sense of duty--and because his rider refuses to leave. He's judgmental, pompous, arrogant, and not entirely a friendly sort of bronze. He's all edges, and not afraid of a good fight. Uskatath is a formidable Threadfighter and reliable (if unpleasant) wingmate.

N'sarl: He was once trouble, and even after Impression, hasn't gotten much better. Returning to High Reaches Weyr is a temptation but something--or someone--keeps him there. He's aloof, rough-around-the-edges, and generally hard to get to know. He's slightly-less-pompous than his bronze, and can (quietly) do good things when the mood strikes.

The thrill of a glorious chase is all I have craved since you took your place amongst the stars, but the warmth of your bloodthirsty touch would make for a perfect end. In saying that, the dazzling queen still outstripped him by far, and Auriath's hearts ached for company. If he was not Kleoth's choice of mate, would another claim him?
