Teohe and blue Tiossith
The blue dutifully relayed Haraven's greetings to His, even if he did consider it a bit of trouble. After all, the boy did make hisTeohe happy, so the fact that he wasn't a rider wasn't entirely a loss. He did, at least, treat her well, even if his station meant he couldn't give her everything Tiossith believed she deserved.
Teohe, meanwhile, had no such concerns, and easily brushed aside the occasional hint of salt her bonded might drop. She thought Haraven was just the best, Candidate or no, and didn't need nearly the excessive spoiling Tiossith wanted for her, though she did appreciate the thought. She was fairly certain that the nice dress that had arrived a few months ago as a gift from her father had been the result of Tiossith's hint-dropping to Hyglath about things that she 'needed' - not that her father wasn't one to aboslutely spoil her and her siblings as much as possible in the first place, so it had likely only taken the tiniest of nudges. Perhaps with a bit of guilt trip added in, since she was so far away.
Savindri
Shamelessly tactile and overfamiliar, Savindri had yet to be broken of his very friendly habits, but fortunately, he was not without kindred friendly souls - or at least tolerant ones - among the Candidates, so much to his delight, he'd found several excellent friends, Haraven among them, who didn't seem to mind being leaned on. Literally.
"They're perfect," he cooed, both at the hatchlings in question and at his friend. And they were! The browns, the green, and- oh look, a big sandy mystery hatchling! Right after Haraven had asked who'd be next, too. Savindri considered the question with a 'hmm,' even as he was subtly moved a bit. He didn't even notice. "Maybe...maybe the flower one?"
That tumble it took sure made it seem like it was ready!
SilverLutz oblivious boy being scooted in general direction
Tihrokat
Tihrokat beamed happily when his greeting was returned; half the time he almost expected to be ignored or brushed off, even by people he sort of knew who were probably-friends, so he was delighted that Matotoka was receptive. "Hatching does look like a lot or work," he agreed. Some did seem to have to work at it a bit harder than others, but he guessed that even eggsplosions took some effort. "Does that happen a lot, having to be carried?"
Because that was adorable and Tihrokat was totally here for it.

Aneirin
One would have thought that Aneirin would have been used to the tousling of the dragonets by now. One would have thought. And yet, Aneirin found himself grabbing hold of Nemeryn's offered hand and holding on tight. He wasn't afraid, exactly, so much as he was feeling quite cautious. There was every reason to believe that something would go sideways here. When the fight seemed to die down, he let out a breath he hadn't known he'd been holding... and leaned slightly against Nem.
When Nemeryn directed his attention to the little green that had hatched, he turned to watch her instead of the pair of browns, feeling a hint of relief that not all the babies were quite so feisty. Again, not that he couldn't handle feisty, but because it was just something else to watch infant dragons battle it out. Something entirely other. "She's cute," he acknowledged softly, not wanting to take away from the babies, but also not wanting to let the nudge go unanswered. From what he could tell, she seemed to have some attitude as well, though she'd chosen a different way to display it.

Valendyr He had expected Sioyrl to be a little talkative, particularly after their run in at the Barracks--but Navit was a bit of a surprise. Valendyr's brows did knit a bit at the talkative fellow, trying to keep up, and also trying to figure out what to say. "I ... er.... hope you Impress too," he finally got a word in, just as two browns exploded from their eggs and immediately began fighting.
To further complicate things, Sioryl was now crying.
A small bit of panic started to creep up Valendyr's back, if only because he had avoided having a lot of feelings during the Touching and now... Now someone younger than him was crying. It was hard to tell if it was out of joy or fear. He was smiling though? "You okay? They'll be okay. Just a... just a tiff," he tried to reassure awkwardly. He even reached out to give Sioryl a little pat-pat, and looked helplessly at Navit in case the chattering fellow had something more reassuring to say.
Bukichi had come close to the trio, and Valendyr offered him an up nod in greeting...even if his brows were still knit in a 'how to feelings?' manner. It still wasn't clear what was going on with the sniffling Sioryl. His tears seemed to be dissipating but...Val wasn't entirely convinced that as it.
Haraven He didn't mind being useful, and if Savindri wanted to lean on him, that was fine by him. He wasn't shy or put off by any of it, even as he looked from egg, to egg, to egg, and the dragonets in between. It was difficult not to look at the Red Flower Egg who had rather given quite a display. "Could be! At least the browns worked out their issues. Maybe." That the smaller of the two had taken to begin looking among the boys was a blessing. Maybe he would find His? Maybe it would be Savindri or.... himself? It wasn't difficult to imagine himself with a fine brown... but honestly, Haraven would love any color of dragon..
"That's a pretty green though!" he indicated the Cracked Egg Green who was nosing at a brightly colored egg. And then, there was of course, the mystery dragon covered well in sand. "Any idea what color that one might be? Gonna need a bath, for sure!" He mused aloud to both Surel and Savindri, sending fond thoughts to all the eggs and dragonets. Still no Impressions...but there were babies, and they would find Theirs sooner than later.

Anneke and green Uluth
Well, if there were no marks being exchanged...
Anneke offered Edalla a bright smile and a little bob of her head in return, then let her attention slide back to the goings-on on the Sands below. She studied the dragonets, the eggs, the Candidates ...
Then she looked at the nearby women and leeeeeaned over, lowering her voice, to stage whisper, "My bet's on none of the ones already out of the shell Impressing first. I think somedragon or other 's going to explode out of there, like that big brown did, and run right up to Theirs and surprise us all."
And maybe she'd be wrong, but she'd said what she said, and she'd stick to it.
Uluth, insulted, but not in any sort of serious or lasting way, huffed. You should have said the green.

Emperor Penguin Brown gave a few more snaps at his smaller brother as he walked away, a low, resentful snarl in his throat. His little claws dug into the sand a few times, as he had bunched himself to spring after and continue the fight.... but no. It was not time to continue such a display, though if his brother dare cross him again, he would not be so forgiving. He huffed a few times, before turning to gaze balefully at the Candidates before him. Was this the best Western Weyr had to offer?
Well.
He would see if any among them were worth his condescension.

Teal Rosette Egg would give another series of wiggles and one, large FLOP. The egg itself would practically topple over, though it stops at a very precarious angle, held up by the smallest bit of shell fragment and sand. Out, out, out. Those nearest the egg could hear scratching. Things were happening, and this baby wanted out--especially before it rolls and tumbles down its once secure wallow.

Rainbow Dusty Egg remained still.

Candidate Ciraine
On the plus side, the Browns stopped fighting almost as soon as they'd began--Ciraine's heart was thankful for it, and her relief was likely palpable as well. She can hear the sound of more shells cracking just out of view, but it isn't hard to tell which ones were hatching in spite of the somewhat obstructed line of sight. "No idea from here. Maybe they'll--shake some of it off soon? Can't imagine that's going to stick for too long." She stood on her tiptoes just enough to try and get a better look at the mystery hatchling, catching herself to give an equal amount of consideration to the dainty Green investigating the Bee Egg while she was at it. Each of them deserved their own time to shine, and she'd do what she could to give them that in her own way. "Four to keep track of now, though! We're off to a great start." Even with the fight in mind--that had been delightfully brief, and no one had needed immediate medical attention as a result, either. Ciraine's gaze flicks back to the Cracked Egg Green, just in time to witness the start of the dragonet's investigation.
"What do you think the Green's doing over there? Checking in, or trying to coax 'em out?" she asks, cocking an eyebrow. Whatever it was she was doing, Ciraine hoped it wasn't going to end in another sibling spat, for all their sakes. "I can't tell if that striped egg is gonna hatch soon, but maybe having their sister nearby might help." Worth a shot, right?

Okay! That was--that was good! They'd stopped fighting, everything was fine, and the Purple Spotted Dinosaur Egg hadn't even needed to come out there how it had said it would. Which--it totally would have, should it have been...needed. Yes. New thing to think about--outside. That was where it wanted to go, even if it wasn't necessarily needed for intervention's sake. True, it was needed, but the Purple Spotted Dinosaur Egg hadn't yet focused on the crowd of Candidates outside enough to know where its rider was.
It was about time to fix that, though, wasn't it?
The Purple Spotted Dinosaur Egg pauses to collect itself, shifting its weight to one end as the dragonet within readied for a semi-emergency exit. There was a faint tapping sound as its claws were tested on the inside of the shell, and it lurched forward all at once--only to be met with a dull thud as its snout impacted to little effect. Hm. No, that--that wouldn't do! Absolutely not. It prepared for another lunge, the egg rocking back a second time, albeit a little slower due to the faint stars swimming in front of its eyes. The effort is rewarded when the shell gives way, cracking and splintering as it parted for the head of a gleaming hatchling. The Purple Spotted Dinosaur Bronze gives a loud hwenk of joy, clawing away more of the shell to allow the rest of his shimmering self to exit the confines of his egg.
The Bronze gets to his feet, shaking off the last bits of shell as he turned toward the assembled Candidates. If he posed for them just a touch when he was done, who could blame him? He wanted to be sure they all saw him, after all!

Natiri - he/him
A tiny thread of tension released from across Natiri's back when the two browns ceased snapping at each other and began to inspect the candidates. Both were gorgeous dragons, and he approved of their wise choice to focus on more important things. A green had joined them in the meantime, a fourth hatchling that he couldn't quite tell... was it brown too? Or was that just the sand coating it? And just now, a rather happy-looking bronze. All seemed in fine form, and he gave Fyfy's elbow a small squeeze of reassurance. He could hear her talking to perhaps herself, perhaps the babies, under her breath... she seemed to be having a good time.
He kept his head on a swivel, spending a bit of time admiring each hatchling, but never long enough to ignore the rest. Even the green, whom as an egg had more or less brushed him off, had her share of his interest. You never knew, he'd been told, what a dragonet would be drawn to. Any of them could want any of the candidates, and he was quietly keen to see what happened next. Hopefully, impress or no, he could be said to have done his part and made the weyr and their home, their hold, proud.

Sablie (She/her)
Sablie noticed as a pale green seemed to come out of where cracked egg had been, she hadn't even seen any movement or cracking from it. However, she reminded herself that with its markings, it probably would have been hard to tell. She smiled softly, wondering what Guarath thought of the green who was grooming herself. It seemed the little lady did not like the tussle of her brothers. Speaking of, she had caught the bite and clawing from emperor penguin brown, but did not seem in a malicious way, more as a way to show dominance. Yellow swirl wobbled a little, but seemed the little one was just not ready yet. Bee egg seemed to give some movement, but only a small crack could be seen with a green eye. Alright, seemed the inhabitant of that egg was happy, least if she remembered her dragon eye colors they had been taught. Orange and purple dapple brown seemed to get some swipes in at his brother, but again, not to harm. Then she watched him head over to the boys, perhaps they were who interested him.
"Aww, look at the baby all covered with sand. I don't blame them for not worrying about being dirty, not one bit. Though, can't say I can tell what color they are, maybe brown or..bronze. Can ya tell?"Sablie asked her friend. She tried to see if there was a shimmer or some hint to what color the baby was that came from grey starry. She noticed the little green from cracked egg went to peep into bee egg. Green spiderweb moved a bit more, but still nothing could be seen. Pink flower also began its movements, before bumping against the egg. She remembered touching that egg as well, it has been a friendly baby.
"If I didn't know better, I would think ya fancied yourself a handsome brown. You know, it is possible one of them may come over here for a peek, ya never know,"she replied, teasingly elbowing Dascyana. She noticed emperor penguin brown was looking them over, so maybe he would answer her friend's question. Teal rosette seemed determined to get out, from the way it seemed to be moving, but seemed no such luck yet. Dusty rainbow was not moving yet, did the baby not want to come out yet, she wondered. She didn't know, but she supposed she would wait and see. Purple spotted seemed determined to get out and soon did, with what appeared to be a happy bronze. While he was certainly not for her, she couldn't help smiling as he broke free of his shell.
Come on, little one, you can do it. We believe in you, you can break your shell, she coaxed as she saw teal lightning trying so very hard to get out of its shell. She hoped it knew it didn't matter if its siblings broke out easily, each came at their own pace. She knew there was strength in the baby, she just knew it. Green spiderweb was still trying as well, so she sent encouragement to it as well.
Edalla and Green Moilath
Edalla felt Sorentia's elbowing and looked down where she indicated. Seems the little fight, if it could be called that, had been short lived after all. Perhaps it just had been a little thing that had bugged one or the other, she couldn't say she would have blamed either of them. Then came the question of which one would impress first, her eyes looking through the sands at the babies currently out and the eggs still left. She heard Anneke suggest that it would be one of the eggs not even hatched yet, who would surprise them with bursting out of their shell and going straight to their rider.
"My guess is it will be the sandy one, whatever color they are. Though, it is possible one of the browns, since at least one of them is doing their duty of looking through the candidates,"the red headed shorter rider responded.
Moilath decided to scoot a little closer to Riamsoth, as she said she was glad to have company. She had no problems helping to keep track of all the babies, so they could share what they had seen with the others. She was sad some of them couldn't make it, but she knew they had good reasons. When she was asked about a favorite, while the browns seemed to be quite strong, she did see a little one so far that was in the running for her favorite.
The browns are quite nice, but I may be a little biased to the green down there. Now, I wouldn't be opposed to some other nice baby dragons, who may take the spot for favorite, she admitted.

Heeeey, there was its wave! Hello, hello!
Grey Starry Hatchling wriggled and bounced up and down in response to Sioryl's wave, and then- and then Dinosaur Spots was out! The sand-covered dragonet honked joyfully at its brother, and was contemplating going over to deliver a boop when it realized that something...something was off, now that it thought about it. Its head swung back towards a certain group of boys, and then the baby was off to investigate. Despite its enthusiasm to be out and about, it was quite polite about getting where it was going, careful not to hit anyone with its oversized wings and willing to wait for people to move.
At last, it reached Sioryl, Valendyr, Navit, and Bukichi, most of whom it knew from the Touching. It honked greetings at the latter three before snuffling and nosing at Sioryl, formerly deep blue eyes swirling with yellow. What's wrong? Why are you crying?
As it gradually shed its sandy layer, those not close by would well be left guessing about his true shade, but the little group was privy to a hint of glitter under all the mess.
