Cetra
Oh, that little blue she'd rather liked in the egg was making his way over to some of the candidates and- oh, well, that didn't look like an impression. But another blue would be hatching quickly enough and she was happy to look fondly upon him as well.
In fact, several eggs were happy to wiggle and move here and there and she wanted to look at all of them - she needed more eyes to look with!
-----
Midrymear
Midrymear had touched the egg the gold was in and he couldn't help but feel like that interaction made a bit more sense now - not that he particularly had disliked it or anything. Each egg was different, after all, and he wasn't going to be the one to say a baby dragon couldn't be the way it was.
It simply meant that outside of some admiration he wouldn't be expecting that little lady to spend too much time thinking about him.
-----
Beelim
Beelim wasn't much enjoying watching the way the Gold Sunbeam Egg wiggled and bounced, seeming to make no progress. That little egg had been so friendly and considerate of him and he considered it to be a bit of a friend.
But he wasn't allowed to help.
He wanted to so badly though.
-----
Draza
"Oh, look at her!" Draza was already picturing that freshly hatched little gold making pretty eyes at Melka - Draza rather fancied the idea of one of the blues or the greens herself, but she wasn't going to pretend she didn't also rather like the idea of getting some of that attention herself.
"Already has a throng of boys around her and she's not even out of her shell entirely."

Such scraping, such backtracking - Green Spotted blue was not impressed by Tyara at all. And he was even less impressed with what was happening behind him. The young dragon bristled with irritation from all directions, and couldn't even be all that pleased that a fellow blue had hatched, given that the impetus had apparently been to go straight to their golden clutchmate's aid. Perhaps if he'd not been so profoundly irritated by, well, everything, he'd have been more inclined to let the slight go, but he was just...not in the mood.
Be that as it may, he decided, flicking his tail, One can never be too careful. Mayhap I will do those who come after me a favor, then, and make sure you are not...out of reach.
So saying, he leapt upon Izaryel, pausing once the young man was pinned beneath him to consider his admittedly pretty face. You are handsome, I will give you that, and your clutchmate's faults should not be your burden to bear. No, one could not choose their relatives, the blue knew all too well. It would not be fair to make the boy pay for his sister's thoughts. He moved off of the Candidate, leaving him with nothing more than soon-to-be bruises to show for his close encounter, and jumped for Tyara instead before her protector could return to his feet. With surprising care, harming nothing that wasn't strictly necessary, Green Spotted dragged two claws down her face. He didn't want to maim her, after all, just leave her with a lesson she wouldn't forget.
You would do well to take care on where you place value. On her brother's appearance. On bronzes. On dragons in general, even. Not all dragons are so amazing. Himself included, he supposed, if he would do such a thing.
He released her then, and went on his way.
Dea and #Teddy# some future scars, but he didn't hit anything important!

Butterfly Wing Gold perked up at the presence of Aubergine Bronze, and offered her clutchmate a croon. His bow and flourishing stretch were aptly admired. I'm glad of it, though it's not far from unexpected. I would have thought more of our clutchmates would be here. She did turn an eye at some of her clutchmates, whose eggs were still and unmoving.
Perhaps that had ought to change?
This was a Hatching, after all. Besides, as much as she appreciated her brothers, there wasn't a single sister to be found! Unfurling her wings, she was about to tuck Blue Skies Bronze under one wing, and Purple & Grey Space Blue when something caught her eye.
A fuss on the Sands already? And they'd only just arrived? This sort of fuss was certain to steal eyes away from here... and worse, she wasn't so far away as to not hear what was being said.
If you please -- control yourself! The dragon pushed her way past her brothers, head held high, and wings flared. Green Spotted Blue had pushed down not one, but two--and saying something about not all dragons being amazing.
What sort of nonsense is this, when we've only just hatched? Are you quite pleased with yourself, brother, now that you've terrorized our Candidates? So it was, she demanded an answer--and she would get one, one way or another.
((Yes, she isn't commanding him...yet. But she is speaking very openly/publicly, thank you. LOL So Candidates can hear her.))

When the Weyr had invited Lord Gansley to their Hatching, it was no surprise that he had declined to personally attend. However, he had sent his son and heir Tansley, and today Vsila was to be his date. Dressed in finery befitting the august occasion, the courtesan sat draped against the Nabolese lordling. If her eyes strayed to the Hatching Sands it certainly couldn't be helped; this was the first time she had ever seen such a spectacle, and while she wasn't totally surprised by the minor violence occurring below, there was most certainly a lot to see.
To the credit of High Reaches, they had reserved a choice spot for the holder, which Vsilamer was presently enjoying for the vantage point it provided. "Have you attended many Hatchings?" the courtesan inquired, wondering if perhaps Tansley had a bit more experience with these sort of things than she did. One of the hatchlings had pounced on a Candidate, then leapt at another with claws unsheathed. A native Nabolese woman, she was quite used to the sight of blood, but nevertheless it was a bit startling.

Nikrys
It shouldn't have seemed strange, and yet Nikrys couldn't help but turn her regard to the newly hatched dragons making their way over to Butterfly Wing and pushing on its—no, her—shell. A lovely queen. Well, the help was to be expected then, she supposed. Still, she only gave them enough attention to register what they were doing before turning back to the blue, watching him hop from sibling to sibling then leave Tyara with two precise wounds down one side of her face.
She had no way of knowing whether or not she approved, but she certainly didn't have to watch. Nikrys looked away as the Green Spotted blue was scolded by his metallic sister, watching the poor Gold Sunbeam futilely knocking about instead. Surely someone would assist it soon?
Bherrus
Bherrus's heart fell when the little Cloudy Skies bronze's eyes went gray, but it wasn't long before he had bounced back and helped a sibling hatch... a golden sibling.
"Whoa!" His voice was low but he'd still expressed his awe out loud, and the boy swallowed and looked around when he realized the exclamation had escaped him. No one looking? Good.
He folded his hands again, content to continue watching as he bounced slightly on the balls of his feet. At the gold's words about candidates being terrorized, Bherrus looked around in minor confusion, only noticing the bleeding candidate now that she had been called out. What was going on?

Zelaya - They/Them/She/Her
Tierth's voice in their mind was always a little startling, but not at all unwelcome, and Zelaya couldn't help but smile and flick their eyes up into the stands and ledges to look for the pair. Dear friends they were, to come and see and wish them luck in the hatching. Maybe today would be the day, no one knew but the hatchlings themselves. Thank you Tierth, and tell L'ius so as well. I would like that too, and then perhaps we would one day be wingmates together. It was a nice dream, to fight and serve the Weyr. L'ius was a good friend, and would make a strong wingmate they could rely on... if only one day they'd get lucky enough, finally prove themselves enough, to be chosen.
Then of course, their attention was drawn back to the sands. A charming gold had been shelled, and she certainly looked like the tiny queen she was. The blue... had pounced two other candidates, but given that they didn't hear any screaming, it mustn't be too bad. Still, they kept alert, ready to move out of the way if need be. Two bronzes, two blues, and a gold... it was odd to not see any greens yet, given their typical numbers. Still, they were all lovely, and looked quite hale. Who could ever ask for more?

That Blue Skies Bronze had come with her was a credit to his color.
As for her blue clutchmate... Butterfly Wing Gold gave a snort. I see that one now bleeds, and another is still in pain. I have no doubt the world is gratified to know that, because others have done worse, you can justify purposefully injuring at all. What on Pern did you hope to accomplish? What on Pern do you think the Candidates will remember? She was certain it wouldn't be joy or pleasure.
As the blue dismissed her, the queen's eyes did flash red, and she draw herself up to her full height and size. I shall meddle where I so please, as is my right, blue, and I'll have you not forget it! Remember, some of your kin actually are hatched just a bit more amazing, no matter how you may personally feel! Hmph!
Meepfur I'm sorry. This character is just... -gestures-
