As Nix stood at the gates, the pain in his hands seemed to intensify, if only for a second. He clenched his hands, and he knew what he must do. The destruction and pain before him was the work of the darkness, and he must that bring to an end that which brought such darkness.
He removed his hood, his muscles tightened, and he was off; following the path carved out of agony, debris, and fire to its source as quickly, and quietly, as possible.
[OOC]Nix knew what he must do, he must cast magic missile into the darkness.

To Nix:
**what languages does he speak again?**
The path of destruction turns away from the main streets and down less used side passages, where upon their path became much less overt, as there was far less to be knocked aside.
Then a couple dozen blocks away, a red flare puncuated the growing dark of the night sky, leaving a white trail of smoke pointing to the buildings below.
**also, extra details when chasing enemies like this may be divined through perc and awarness, and perc and investigate rolls. The former is a higher difficulty, but is pretty much passive. The latter is easier, but costs more time. Oh, Survival can be used if aplicable, as in foot prints and such, and is somewhere in the middle**

Bishop186 rolled 7 10-sided dice:
7, 7, 4, 1, 3, 6, 2
Total: 30 (7-70)

[OOC]Languages: Low Realm, High Realm, and Forest-tongue.[/OOC]
As the path found its way down lesser-used alleyways, so did Nix. Even as the clues waned, he kept his pace.
However, when the flare went off, distracting him, he quickly scaled a building and took to the rooftops to get a better view of the city.
[OOC]This round I'll use the Perc + Investigate, since I'm scaling a roof and effectively stopping to take a look at the surroundings.
If you want me to make a seperate roll for climbing the building let me know -- I have a 4 Athletics if that makes any difference. sweatdrop
Per = 4 dice Inv = 3 dice
4 + 3 = 7 dice biggrin [/OOC]

** For things that only affect you, i trust you with your dice rolls. if you've a bunch of d10's lying around, I don't care if I never see a single roll. If you're doing something that affects nothing but the environment around you, I don't really care, but if it's something really big, it would be nice. Note, some things such as lifting can need more than 30 successes, such as giant boulders. Those would be good for seeing rolls. For combat, i'd prefer them posted, but you only have to type the results of your rl dice for me to look over.
and back to work**

[OOC]I have terrible rolls with d10s, and aside from that most of my dice are at my friend's house 'cause we play D&D there. And the rest are in California. xd So, as it stands, I have to use GaiaOnline's craptastic roll script.[/OOC]

((I've never had a problem with the roll script here, as you may see, it saved my a** on the last page.))
Garrison ran do his door; slowily pushing it open, and peering through the crak he made, he scrambled to the next door over without worrying about what he saw there and tried to wrench open the door.

[OOC] I dunno if it's just me, but it seems that with this script the more dice you roll, the lower your average rolls become.
But, I'll shut up now so I don't clog up the RP with a bunch of OOC talk. sweatdrop [/OOC]

To Garison: The door groaned fro a moment before the ancient wood splinterd around the lock. The door swung open and revealed the tidy bed and small chair and table that were available for such meager prices. Well, once tidy bed. In her desire for rest, Ashura had dragged the covers up around her head, revealing her legs to the rest of the room, as well as her mood. her skin had turned an agitated stormy grey swirl, slowly shifting like distant thunder clouds.
**for future referance, I'm lazy. You've got some creative leeway with random scenery. Also, that would be a perfect example of a place to assume that if one's stats are good enough, they don't have to roll, as botches shouldn't happen when hurdling a trash pile at athletics four, but they can on rl dice, so your free to assume you succeed in basic stuff. Also, a high stat can compensate in cases of a low ability ^_^**
To Nix:
Nix paused to examine the packed earth that made up the alleyway floor. Hoof prints, many of them, had recently scarred the ground, and judgeing from the right agle turns their paths had been making the riders and beasts were exceptionally skilled. But even as he examined the ground, the flare's explosion drew his attention. he quickly clambered up the side of the mud brick building, and from their, could make out a faint cloud of dust comming up from the streets ahead, having turned towards the flare, but rapidly approaching its launch point, still indicated by the trail of bright, white smoke.

((Actually Bish, I noticed that that is intrestingly the case IRL too. One guy that Yoko and I play with /always/ has great rolls when he's rolling small pools, and then when he picks up his damage roll, it's horrible... two or three successes out of thirty or so dice...))
((Yoko, is Ashura in the room? Or is i empty? You're not specifying.))

Catching the sight of the dustcloud, Nix engages himself again, vaulting from rooftop to rooftop toward the creatures creating it, and, more importantly, their riders in an attempt to close the gap between the riders and himself.

To Garison:
As Garison broke through her door, Ashura rolled off the far side of her bed and came up in a fighters crouch, only to stand up straight, an eyebrow raised at him. "What's up?" she asked, sleep and irritation all but entirely masking the goodwill and curiosity she'd meant to adress him with. Then she turned to the window and shoved it open, "But more to the point, WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE. SOME OF US ARE TRYING TO SLEEAAHCK-!" As a hand reached down, and in a single movement took hold of her long blue hair and yanked her up and out of the window.
To Nix: Travel on the rooftops was much easier and faster as he could now move in a relativly straight line towards his target, but there was still a good distance of ground to be covered before he'd arive. As he closed in though it became apparent that a person was standing on top of the building towards which he and the riders were aproaching. He knelt over the edge, apparently waiting for something to occur. After a few moments, a blue haired woman suddenly shoveved her head out the window and started shouting at something, only to be unceremoniously pulled upward and tossed up onto the level part of the roof. *note, they are now a full story above you, no other nearby two story buildings.*
Ashura: "How DARE you!" Ashura screached, more in outrage than pain, Her skin a roiling black, that lit up internally in flashes of orange and yellow, as though lightning were actually coursing through her body.
A young man, shaved bald, and wearing white robe with a green sash smiled back at her. "One could ask the same of you, but we both know that answer, and it's because of that answer that we both know the answer to yours." He grinned. "But I'm not really here to much of anything. Just an observer really." Ashura opened her mouth to argue the blatant point, but he cut her off, " AND, to ensure that things happen properly. For you to have access to your precious toys, that tips the next few minuets far too close to being in your favor for our tastes. I would ask you to sit and wait for the inevitable to come, but again we both know that won't happen, and so..." He leapt foward, and his foot came crashing down through the wooden slats of the roof where Ashura had just been standing.

Gerrison's eyes strained as he watched his friend pulled out the window. He rushed over, sticking his head out and looking up. His scythe made a pang noise as the sill refused to let it out the window at the angle he tried to force it.

Garrison is going to pop his sythe out the window and then use the curve to hook over teh lining of the roof, and thusly pull himself up the shaft of the weapon. Gimmie some checks.))
