Vampires i think are not real, although people think otherwise. There are Blood Fetishesin the world. Some are so extreme to call themselfs vampires and say it is real.

well ill give you insight of what i have heard of vampires
vampires are predators of the night as we all know well enough and they do not necessaryly have to kill the victem when they drink its blood, in fact many stories ive heard say that a vampire cant drink the last drop of blood or they would be pulled into the victems death. now lets talk a little more of dracula.
dracula is said to be the most powerfull but yet most gentalmenly-like vampire he was said to seduce his victems then drink their blood. he was said to be un-killable but was supposedly killed by van hellsing
and as for how you would contract vampirism the victem would have to exchange blood with the vampire and then in a couple of days time they would be "rebirthed" if you will.
but lets talk about the abilitys of a vampire. vampires would only gain pyshical stats like strength, speed, reflexes, and so on. they would retain the same combat abilitys as before but they would hit harder then before
their is some knowledge i have i might post more latter if i have time

Well, we've all heard STORIES, but can you support any of this with evidence? Simply saying that you've heard of these things doesn't make them true; I've heard that the world was created by a giant flying spaghetti monster, but that doesn't give it credibility. Do you have anything credible on the subject?

well their was a monarch in history that would drink the blood of people and put their heads on steaks(long spear like things) and their was a woman in history that would drink blood like it was wine(im sorry i forgot their names its been a while since i saw the history or discovery channel about real vampires)
also many people feel the need to drink/consume fresh meat

Vampires contribute greatly to stories, legends, and myths but do not actually exist. That's my take anyways.

Theses said "vampires" that have the traits of the media are not entirely true.

There have been historical accounts of vampires, e.g. Elizabeth Bathory and Valdimir Tepes.

They aren't vampires in that whole "immortal" sense. However, they did engage in drinking blood because they thought it would bring them eternal life and whatnot.

However, the two vampires in the mythical/magick sense I know of are pyschic vamprye and those who drink blood. The ones that drink blood don't neccissarily "suck" it out of a human being, but rather simply drink it and live off of it. Pyschic vampires, however, tend to target in on the actual aura of a human being and drain it. It is alleged that they can steal life from other people, etc. Their aura tends to have an overlayer of black in it. Or at least, that is what I have been told/experienced.

Umm ... that doesn't really count.

Vampires are actually derived from those creatures. People thought, "Some bats drink blood! What if we could drink blood with fangs too?" and vampire stories started.

Again, just because you drink blood doesn't mean you're a vampire. It generally just means that you've got some kind of obsession or mental fetish.

Also, people keep saying they have knowledge of real vampires (interpreted here as magical humanoid creatures that need blood or psychic energy for sustenance), but I've yet to see any actual evidence or even arguments for their existence.

What dboy said was entirely true. The closest they have is some historical figures that liked to drink blood to gain strength or something crazy like that.

Blood isn't a very good source of energy ... I doubt a creature could get immortal by drinking that.

yeh well talk about vampires in general and what you think there like and/or what you'v heard.

Hmm... back to the original post that started all of this.
I'm crazy about vampires. I love reading about them, but I hate seeing them on screen. Hollywood just can't do vampires right. There's something too dramatic or monstrous (or sexual!!!) about them. I think I'm so attracted to vampires because of my personality type. I'm very protective over the people I care about. (That's actually probably why I was attracted to my first boyfriend, too. He was bullied, and I got to protect him.) Anyway, a common theme in vampire novels is that protectiveness over those who belong to them.
So that's what I'm in it for... And, no, I don't believe myself to be a vampire!! xd
Anyway, my attraction to vampirism has led me through a number of very interesting websites.
From what I understand, there are 3 types of vampires. Sanguinarians, Psy Vampires, and Vampyres.
Someone has already pointed out the last 2.
Vampyres are obsessed roleplayers, dressing up in "vampire" clothing and filing their teeth, and pretending to be vampires in real life...
Psy Vampires are the ones who leech off of other peoples energy. They may or may not be able to control their feeding... And they are empaths. I've also heard that they can convert a person's auric energy as well, instead of just leeching it, and can therefore change a persons current emotions.
Sanguinarians are the blood-drinking ones. They actually need it. They have "red dreams" before they need it, if they don't get it, they get migrains, and have intense mood swings, and can get very violent...

Did I forget anything? Hmm... I'll post more if I have...

Oh!! and I don't know if I believe in them or not. The Psy Vampires, yes I believe in them for sure... The sanguinarians... I don't know. I do have a friend who claims to be a vampire. He and his other friends get together sometimes and drink each other's blood... He has shown me some lovely teeth marks on his arms.
But I believe he is merely a Drinker. A Drinker is a person who is not a sanguinarian, but has somehow become addicted to blood.
I don't know if sanguinarians exist. But I will keep an open mind for them, in case they are.
Also, I don't think it really matters if their condition is only a medical thing. Please show them some basic respect, at least. As long as they aren't hurting anyone, their "condition" is not your problem.

Do you have any proof of this "condition"?

ok lets consider something about history
most countrys that have old heritages seem to have creatures that have vampire like effects. but that was before they went and traded heritages with other country so ther has to be some connection between them

Your correct about the history, but wrong about the reasoning.

Many cultures do indeed have mentions of vampiric creatures, but you're oversimplifying. Chinese culture, for instance, has stories of "jiang shi," better known as "qi vampires" or "hopping corpses." They bear little resemblance to Western vampires, and the only common thread is that they both feed off of people.

This does NOT, however, signify a connection. There is a natural fear of predation and parasitism present in all creatures, humans are no exception. If you do the research you'll find that parasitic creatures exist EVERYWHERE, so it's not really a surprise that people would become superstitious about bigger and scarier versions of household pests. Vampire bats, mosquitoes, leeches, spiders, scorpions; anything that crawls around and/or can hurt you is naturally frightening to humans.

I'm sorry, but you're going to have to do better than that.
