A nervous kreel caught in Brieteth's throat. Where was...Siloth?

While the blue was distracted, E'mel took stock of their Firestone and - well, they certainly could have used some, couldn't they? He nudged the blue and Brieteth gave a very hesitant alert to his siblings below.

Oh, he didn't want them to be in danger! He'd told mother he'd watch them!

Inspired or not, Illa and Fenrith found themselves entirely out of firestone. Fenrith, you know the drill. The Brown dragon, wings beating a little to combat the intense wind, reached out to the Ashlings Wing at large. I need firestone. Would one of you kindly aid me?

They were really only starting to feel confident again, relaxing in the slightly-less-intense wind, when snap! Their vision was suddenly darkened by a wingmate returning from between...A shout got them moving before it even registered, and they winked between just as a wave of flame rolled towards them. They reappeared several yards away, trembling, but thankfully intact. Maybe middle tier was going to be just as dangerous!

High Alt Wing

It took awhile, but Ly'bur could finally feel his dragon's pep coming back. The brown wasn't breathing as hard and his wing strokes were sure and confident again. I'm glad to see your energy is back Hinburath. It took awhile and we need it up here. The dragon sent a wordless agreement to his rider. Fighting thread tired was no fun!

Hinburath worked through the falling Thread. As he cleared the latest patch, he noticed it was getting heavier ahead. Something didn't feel quite right and the brown rumbled uneasily. He called out to one of his nearby wingmates aiming for a particular patch of thread. It didn't look right to him. Thankfully, the pair veered off from it. Moments later the wind changed. If the pair had gone for it the wind would have blown them right into the thread. Quickly enough the wind reversed direction again and blew the Thread right back where the pair could flame it to ash!

Round 2: Day 1 Rolls
1. 5- The air is thick with Thread. It's at its heaviest up here, and you are literally surrounded by silver tendrils. You roar defiance before spitting forth a great flame, scorching the deadly threads before you with ease. Flame Length +1 (NOT GAINED DUE TO FATIGUE)
2. 12- You try to flame down some Thread, but your flame comes up short. Whoops! Hopefully your Wingleader didn't see that. Nothing to be done about it now except eat some more firestone, and try to catch the next clump!
3. 17- As you fly, you find that you're getting into a heavier patch of Thread ahead. You've got a bad feeling about this.... You warn one of your wingmates to let a patch go! Thankfully, they listen, and sure enough, the wind changes! It would have blown the pair right into the patch. As it stands, the wind blows the Thread back, and your wingmate are able to flame it down without injury. [+2 Instinct]

How are you feeling, Cordrath? We've been up for a few hours now. It wasn't their first long flight, but it certainly was the most active one both rider and dragon had ever had!

The bronze seemed as energetic as ever, however. I can keep going. This won't be a problem! Cordrath assured. For their first time up, this wasn't as bad as it could have been. It helped he had good things to fight for.

No KO for you!

It was maybe the luck still holding out that allowed Ahlalei to see the dragon come out of between flaming. Only it wasn't at Thread, it was right at Mishaath. With his own recent near encounter with fire clear in Kalikath's mind the shouted a warning at both the pair hoping that together they would manage to avoid each other. LOOK OUT. Mishaath to your left!

Round 2, roll 5: You notice that one of your wingmates is in trouble. Look out! Your dragon screams warning, and you watch as they successfully dodge catastrophe. Quote a Wingmate who took damage to Nullify Damage for that post! The quoted wingmate can remove that damage, unless they have already returned to the Weyr for healing or are already playing out a KO'd scenario.

It's still making it this far down...a bad fall indeed. The brown mused almost placidly to his rider as another clump came straight towards the queens' wing. A serene lance of fire shot out, incinerating it, but it made the man look up, watching his weyrlings for a long moment, making sure they were in fact hitting some of their targets.

This was something they were prepared for, right? Despite all the training it was still nerve wrecking, who wouldn't be nervous after all? Thread wasn't something to sneeze at and he counted himself lucky so far and did his best to keep a watchful eye over those in his wing. However it would seem one of them wasn't fairing too well and he grew concerned but it seemed that another wingmate that was closer had gotten things covered. Relaxing a little he focused on Tarenoth and those around them.

Hinburath was flaming well. All that flaming though ran through his supply of firestone. Ly'burmine I need more firestone to chew. In truth, the rider had been wondering when he'd have to re-stoke the dragon. Ok here it is. He pulled several large chunks from the bag and tossed them one by one into his mouth. On the third piece though, Hinburath caught it badly. Instead of chewing the piece of stone, he caught his tongue. He gave a painful yelp and nearly dropped the stone in his mouth. That really really hurt! For several long moments all he could do was hold the firestone in his mouth to let his tongue stop hurting enough that he could position the firestone to chew it properly. Ly'bur winced with pain for his poor dragon. Surely others were having the same difficulties.

SORRY FOR SUPER DELAY!

The roaring queen had indeed caught the Weyr's attention. It didn't take long for Weyrhealers to descend upon the queen. Their kits were packed with tools, and a cart was run over, full of bandages, swaths, redwort, numbweed, vials of fellis, and other various concoctions and remedies a rider and dragon might need. Two Weyrhealers were the first to reach the queen, with a few others behind.

"Easy, easy!" They cried out to the queen as they raced to close the distance. An older blue dragon reached out to the queen, trying to assess the situation. Hesperith-- we are here to help! Let us do our jobs, to save, and comfort Yours. The connection alone might allow the telepathic creature to know where rider and dragon were damaged, but it was clear to see.

"We need to get her down, Hesperith," a brown-haired woman spoke, hoping to cut through the dragon's upset and pain. "We need to check her wounds." She was a young apprentice, with dark skin, and short black hair. Her blue lingered nearby, stretching out his neck, tattered wings half-spread. A stark sight next to the pale skinned, red-haired man beside her. His hair was tied up, and there was a no-nonsense seriousness about him. Though he did not wear the knots of a rider, he did wear the the colors of High Reaches, along with Journeyman's knots. "There, there now.... Let's get you out of your straps." He spoke quietly, no amount of panic in his words, even as he waited (inwardly impatiently) for the queen to allow the two of them to get to her rider.

The young woman was in need of tending, and Journeyman Aravic, along with Apprentice Tandra and her blue Velarth.

((Figured I'd throw in a few NPC weyrhealers to help her out. Feel free to pose them as needed -- they want Sylphie down, and would immediately check both rider and dragon for hteir wounds/injury. Just let me know what they are, haha. ))

As the duo soared in their section in the sky they kept a watchful eye on their wingmate's and gave encouraging words of praise when able. They all needed to know that they were doing their best and to go off on anyone in a situation like this could prove more disastrous with all that added stress. He wasn't much of a hot head as it was so staying calm wasn't entirely difficult for the man. Tarenoths reassuring presence helped ensure that he kept a level head as much as he could as well.

17. 17-19 You know your Wing, and are confident in their abilities. Part of being Wingleader or Wingsecond is caring for those you fight with! Every dragon has his or her place, as well as their strengths and weaknesses. Thankfully, you notice when someone is struggling! You call out, encouraging them to fight through the pain, the hurt, the exhaustion, and assuring them of their greatness. Quote a Wingmate and nullify any negative Status Effect immediately. If no negative status effects are in play, you may nullify a Wingmates damage instead!

Suddenly, the airspace cleared for a moment around them. Ly'bur and Hinburath blinked in almost surprise. He sat up in his straps, just a bit, and took a look around to evaluate how things were going around him. The dragon took a deep breath and shook his neck out to relax it. The breather, however small, was greatly appreciated.
