Pain wouldn't stop them, oh no. A quick pivot snagged an errant strand, even as Lestenna was wiping ash off her goggles. This time the cinders fell free and away from them, no danger. Well done!

Thanoth was sometimes far, far too quick. She saw her mother's rider flame thread, and zipped off to do the same...and ended up crashing through the lingering cinders a moment later. She hissed as one bright spark caught on the jagged end of her already-hurt wing, and leapt between to douse it. "Maybe we should go just a bit slower...right?"

Sam'kel hurried to feed Kinitarth more stone, determined to not let a bit of a cough slow him or Kinitarth down. Yet it has a hindrance, and one with a price to pay. Kinitarth's head whips as he hears an alarmed bugle, barking out as Siloth collides with a clump of thread. Siloth! The motion makes him chomp down on his tongue, making the blue dragon shake his head before eyeing the spot where his wingleaders once were. His eyes whirled a bright blend of yellow and white, both rider and dragon whipping around furiously as they waited to see the bronze appear.. and waited..
Sam'kel's stomach dropped out, wanting to near lose what little may be in his stomach. Had they..? No..
Kinitarth shuddered, and with a herculean effort turns to continue on. But it isn't subtle how he keeps looking around for the familiar shape of Siloth.

Krahsujunth screamed frustration as his teeth nipped at the same sore spot he'd bitten already. He shook his snout as if to toss off the ache, and despite how irksome it was, resolved to just chew slower, almost delicately. It was a frankly strange tableau, the usually savage blue carefully taking stone piece by piece, chewing like the primmest of little greens.

The cold of Between cleared, and both rider and dragon notified K'ienn and Yisketh of their return and their status. The face wound had kept them out longer than they would have liked, but Kindeth was feeling good..... Don't stretch those injures, Kindeth. And be careful! I'll keep an eye on your left side. Just in case the poor bronze's vision was affected. You let me know if you start hurting...

The exhaustion set in slowly—a struggle to breathe here, a dip of wings there—but all of that was inevitable. Normally, H'win coaxed Suuth into hanging back just a little, long enough to get a second wind, but today both dragon and rider were caught in the moment. It took a lancing bit of thread to wake them both up, and they went Between with a mutual hiss.
5. Wheeling, flaming, catching thermals, fighting wind.... Threadfall is nothing if not exhausting. Greens, and blues find themselves panting with exhaustion. This is more tiring than they thought. Trying to come up from a dive, they struggle on wing and wind up getting blown right into some thread. Ouch! [+1 Stamina, Moderate Damage -4 HP ]

Twisting and turning, Tarenoth broke into a graceful dive, flame spitting forth from his mouth, thread turning into nothing but ash. T'nor was beaming inside at the fact they had successfully handled a patch of thread before it could hit anyone or anything and cause irreversible damage. 'If we keep flying like this it's going to be a good day.' He said to Tarenoth and the dragon just gave a glance back. 'Indeed, but the day is still young.'
10. A patch falls down ahead. You dive down, flaming as you go, and both rider and dragon are pleased to watch it turn into harmless ash. This is how it gets done!

As a clump is blown in their direction, Kinitarth snaps Between to reappear at a safer distance from the offending thread. He opens his mouth, exhaling a stream of hot fire that sears the thread so easily. Yet it feels mechanical, and there's no satisfaction from watching the ash tumble through the air easily.
Sam'kel keeps an eye out, his rubbing his chest with one hand while the other pats Kinitarth's neck. With the threat of thread falling on their heads, his self-deprecation tangents are majorally quiet in his head. But it doesn't stop the nagging in his head, small like a child on his hand. Why him? He was wing-filler, they were-- are wingleaders.
Yet the thought doesn't quite quit. Had he gotten his wingleaders...

The one thing Tarenoth was not, was small and agile. He was large and lumbering, built for stamina more than speed. Either way he was managing well enough given his size and age, not that he felt old. T'nor gave him a solid pat on the back as they flew along the other riders.
15. The greens, and blues don't seem to be having trouble sweeping up thread. Yeehaw! This isn't so bad! [+3 Agility] Browns and bronzes, you're struggling just a bit more getting around all the blowing clumps and individual strands. Still, it's good practice! [+1 Agility] 3rd roll

It was as if Tarenoth was trying to rally them all and sent out a boost of encouragement towards his wingmates. 'Through Fall, Fog and Fire we will continue to fly by your sides! Good Job Tresspassers wing!' T'nor was quite relieved that everyone seemed to be doing alright in their wing so far, aside from that rather intense moment for (insertnamehere) not too long ago, but it seems like that had been taken care of easily enough by their fellow wing mates. He was proud to be part of their team.

We need to stay strong. Kinitarth's sharp words cut through Sam'kel's inner diatribe, starting to see the blue waiting to be given more firestone. He crunches it noisily, his eyes a muddled mess of white, yellow, and red. We fight on. We must.
Sam'kel was about to respond when he spied the clump of thread above them--about to strike Kinitarth head on. Yet there's no verbal clue as Kinitarth followed his rider's expression to snap between, and reemerge above to safety.

Dragonfire burned through the air but it would seem a strong gust of wind blew them straight into a patch they had just burned up, the hot dust stung at his eyes and felt burning for a fleeting moment but it quickly passed as they cleared themselves of the cloud. 'That wasn't particularly pleasant was it ole boy?' Shaking himself free of some ash the duo went back at it.
3. Flaming down Thread, you find yourself getting blown right into the cloud of ash! It stings and burns, but you're pretty sure no Thread was alive in the cloud. [If a green, or blue take Moderate Damage -5HP but gain +2 Pain Resistance.] [If a brown or bronze, take Minor Damage -2 Damage but gain +1 Pain Resistance.]

With a slow, shuddery breath and Sam's hand a warmth on his neck, Kinitarth gathers his thoughts and quick checks on the rest of his wing. While the wind had still continued to buffet them around. They were still here, still fighting, and he loved them all. He sends warmth to them all, and with a hard flap of his wings and a mouth full of freshly crunching firestone, sets off to sear the closest clump.

Fenrith!! Fenrith and His needed firestone! We are on our way! he bugled up to his fellow brown and fearlessly whipped his way up to the wing to get himself into just the right position for His to throw the bag of firestone.
But after the way their last attempt to resupply someone had gone, Nadry was more than a little nervous, especially since she was throwing to Illa, not some stranger. She had to get this right! But after all the stone she'd been tossing today, she was starting to get sore, and - oh fardles! Something in her back twinged, and she dropped the bag. No!
She was so devastated by the error she could have cried, but instead, she grabbed and tossed up another bag. She was definitely going to have to go and pick up some more, all while desperately hoping no one below had been clonked by the errant bag.
In the meantime, she couldn't help but notoce that the wingsecond pair looked...rough. Menankith touched Fenrith's mind with wordless concern and affection before His guided him off to pick up more firestone.

With a twirling twist Zetigeth once again saw a clump sliding towards a wingmate and blasted it with another warning, relieved that he was able to save someone else from the falling thread. He could only hope that things kept going this well!
