Kaistern rubbed the bridge of his nose as they waited for their dinner to be served later that night. That whole meeting could have gone a whole hell of a lot better. "I had hoped your mayor would've come through by now..." he sighed. "At least if war breaks out, everyone's going to be united on the same front for a change...I just wish it weren't against the humans."

"It seems he is a bigger fool than I originally thought." Ophelia would also make damned sure that her sisters did not return to the village. Or at the very least she would make sure that they were quick to pack their things and leave, prefferably somewhere she could contact them quickly. She pondered over whether or not she should simply use a large chunk of the personal non royal funds she'd saved back to buy them decent if tiny housing until they could afford better.

"We'll try one more time. We'll gather up all the assorted settlement mayors and sit them down in one place; we'll drag them all back here if we have to. We have to get them to work things out and stop this silly nuclear nonsense before the entire world pays for it in blood." Kaistern decided. "Until things calm down, your sisters should probably stay here in the castle as well. It's probably one of the safest places if anything happens."

"You say that like they can be reasoned with." Ophelia let out a soft sigh, looking more and more worried about upcoming events as time went along. "A-as for my sisters...thank you. When shall I send the missive? Or...should I explain to them that they shouldn't return home in person? ..Regardless of what I do, I won't be telling them anything more than necessary. As far as they would know, I'm just inviting them over to flaunt you and our marriage."

Kaistern stroked his chin a bit in thought. "Write them a few letters. I can send a few footmen to deliver them as formal invitations. And technically they are part of the royal family as the queen's sisters, so that helps keep our concerns hidden."

Ophelia gave a small nod in understanding. "Very well. And...thank you very much for doing this for me. Letting my sisters stay here, I mean." At the very least Ophelia would start encouraging her sisters to try and integrate themselves in the city. This would start off as subtle as possible, casually mentioning the superior quality of materials and craftsmanship of the various trades in the city or something along the lines. She would become gradually more insistent, until eventually making the suggestion that they should move to somewhere near the castle.

Ophelia gently squeezed Kaistern's free hand, a smile finally cracking through that worried face of her's. "You're very sweet for doing this nonetheless. Thank you." It took quite a bit of willpower to keep from just leaning over and kissing him. He was always so sweet and helpful, and she could only hope to return the favor someday in their time together.
