Ashlyn and Gyafrith will be flying first wave

Ashlyn and Gyafrith decided they needed to move again, so Gyafrith decided to jump between to a spot that looked clear. Unfortunately, as they came out of between, they notice a sheet of Thread coming in their direction. Ashlyn knew she needed to make the call quickly.

We have to go between now, hopefully to a better area, she thought to her blue. She heard him rumble his agreement, before he popped back into between. When they reappeared, they were in the sheet they had seen and they both screamed in pain as it wrapped around them. She didn't even have to tell him twice as they popped back in between, to freeze it off. Three breaths later, they blinked back into the battlefield.

You want to go back to the healer's, Mine?he asked in concern. He felt her brush off the frozen thread from both of them. Thankfully, none was burrowing into either of them, but it still hurt where it had attached to his tail and her back.

Not yet, but if we get hit again, we will have to,she replied back. She was determined not to head down yet, not if she could help it.

Round 2, Part 1 (Mid Alt)
+10HP from Weyrleader speech
1) 2. As you're flaming down some Thread, a gust of wind suddenly pushes the remaining cloud back at you and your dragon. You've no choice but to blink Between to avoid it, and appear higher up, missing the clump. The rest of the thread falls down towards the lower altitude. [+1 Between Accuracy]

2) 20. You appear from Between and find the space you were hoping would be clear now has a large sheet of Thread being guested towards it. You've only a moment to decide where to go, and both you and your dragon pick a spot and hop Between in an attempt to avoid Thread. Roll a D4 and take whatever damage or XP you're given!
4- You not only manage to blink out of danger, but you blink back again, flame half of the clump, and blink away again only to appear a safe distance away. It's an impressive display of thread fighting power! Good job! Word will be going around the lower caverns tonight! +2 Extra Between Accuracy

3) 3. Flaming down Thread, you find yourself getting blown right into the cloud of ash! It stings and burns, but you're pretty sure no Thread was alive in the cloud. [If a green, or blue take Moderate Damage -5HP but gain +2 Pain Resistance.]

1- 1: You critically fail! You either appear between directly in the clump of Thread and take Major Damage for -8 HP =or= you could wind up getting lost Between, and die, having not properly visualized where to jump. Death -- optional. Taking the damage

Demanthra and Monath will be flying first wave

Look Mine, some more Thread. I am so going to get that one too!Monath told her rider with confidence in her voice. She quickly goes to catch it, sending a flame in its direction. Unfortunately, she missed and it heads in their direction. They didn't have time to get out of the way and Monath let out a bugle of pain. They snap into between, then come out when the Thread is dead.

Oh Monath, I am so sorry. Are you okay?Demanthra asked with worry.

Yeah, it hurt my wing again, but it just makes me mad!she growled into her rider's head. She would make the thread pay for the damage done to her and their family.

Honestly, Kindeth felt better than ever. Though he legitimately could not feel his face, thanks to the numbweed, and though his left eye looked a bit ugly and was a little cloudy -- that didn't seem to stop the tank of a bronze. S'del was keeping an eye out on that blind side, but also on the area around them. At least Mid-Altitude had a bit more wiggle room than High-Altitude.

Ash'il was feeling relieved as the pain from his dragon biting his tongue went away and they could both fully concentrate again..least as best as they could knowing his mother was hurt. However, he knew his parents would tell him to focus on the task at hand, so that's what he planned to do. He watched with pride as Iptoneth flamed some thread without an issue. Unfortunately, the wind decided to leave them with a present as it blew the ash cloud back towards them. Rider and dragon let out a hiss of pain, since that hot ash hurt, but they were not going to let it get them down.

That was nothing, little ash, no sweat,Iptoneth thought.

Round 2, Part 1 (High Alt)
+10 from Weyrleader speech (only need three of it to get back up to 42)
1) 20. Your dragon asks for a few more pieces of firestone to chew. Unfortunately, they wind up chomping down on their tongue instead of their stone! This is going to distract your dragon for the next two rolls. [Tongue Bitten Effect! Your dragon is distracted by pain. No XP will be earned for the next 2 rolls. Any successes will be nullified. Should you roll a prompt with the possibility of damage, take the max damage allotted for your size/color automatically but it will also end the Tongue Bitten Effect immediately.]

2) 17. As you fly, you find that you're getting into a heavier patch of Thread ahead. You've got a bad feeling about this.... You warn one of your wingmates to let a patch go! Thankfully, they listen, and sure enough, the wind changes! It would have blown the pair right into the patch. As it stands, the wind blows the Thread back, and your wingmate are able to flame it down without injury. [+2 Instinct] Negated by tongue bite

3) 6. As you're flying, the wind picks up again, trying to knock you out of formation

-If 36'-46', you're able to fight the wind with relative ease. Unfortunately, the nearby Threadfall gets blown into your side and haunches -- and you were too big to move out of the way. Ouch! Moderate Damage -8 HP

4) 19. Ouch! You had successfully flamed Thread but the gust push the ash back into you as you fly! The hot ash cloud burns as you fly through it, but you're made of tougher stuff than that! The focus is Thread, not pain! [+2 Pain Resilience]

Kindeth saw yet another wingmate in trouble! To your right! The bronze bugled, veering position so he might fly over and help. Though he couldn't quite make it in time, he did spit some flame -- carefully -- and managed to take down some of the threat! Yeah! He felt great!

Firestone renewed, Illa urged Fenrith to flame again. They fought their enemy once more, and when hot ash blew back at them, they took it without complaint. What was a small sting when they had destroyed more thread?

The bronze dragon blasted flame where he could. Unlike the higher altitude wing, there was more room to maneuver, and in some cases, he had to chase the wind blown strands. A small sliver caught his wingsail, which he felt! With a snarl, the bronze blinked to the safety of Between, before reappearing, and continuing the fight. S'del was pleased with their performance Kindeth was back to normal, and the pair determined to make up for lost time. If they had their way, they'd be back in the fight the the last three hours. Good job, Kindeth! He thought, sending pride and love through his link with his bronze. If he didn't know any better, he thought the dragon might be showing off.... But it also could have been his dragon's desire to simply be up in the air, doing what a dragon was meant to do!

Just mind those stitches.... You'll have to tell Dr'stan what happened if they rip. S'del warned. That threat had ought to keep his dragon in line...for now, at least. As time went on, he knew that numbweed would wear off, and Kindeth wouldn't be feeling quite as great.
