I swear... I will never forget the events of tonight..from now on whenever I hear the word fire I'm going to smell smoke and burning flesh... It was several hours ago...and I can still taste the smoke and smell the burning skin.... the sight of the firefighters carrying his body out of that house is still burned into my eyes. In case you all are wondering, yes, I witnessed a fire. My bedroom window gave the perfect view to everything. I saw it all and I heard everything. Whenever I hear the word fire now... I'll feel like screaming...

Yeah, I'm running on zero sleep and I didn't want to make a thread so I came in hear to say it...

Wow. I'm very sorry you had to witness something like that.

@Conflict: Are you a loli?? 15yrs.

@Burden: Why didn't you just close your eyes and stop looking...? Human curiousity or concern?

I've seen some car accidents, but I doubt they can compare to what you have just experienced.

Concern, Jaft, concern. It's hard to ignore the sounds of a fire, the breaking of glass, the people screaming and yelling outside, your sisters screaming because they know what's going on and they're terrified.... It was right across the alley... his house is full of paper and such. The fire started hours ago and went undetected. When they carried the body out I literally screamed. I saw every detal as his body hit his back porch steps when they carried him out. He was completely unconscious..... I can't close my eyes without seeing it all again..... Then, the most sickening part is that I heard the firefighters. They were laughing. LAUGHING. It sickens me. I distinctly heard one of them say "blood everywhere". Mind you, the man is probably dead now... he was well known here.... and I know it's something I'll never forget.....

Laughing?

I doubt death bothers veteran firefighters and unless they knew him, meh...

Are you truly fearful of the word fire now?

I'm really insensitive to death... So I cannot really empathize with you. I hope you can overcome the imagery you were exposed to...

I guess the only thing you can do now is pray for him in your own way and make sure to not let this tragedy happen to yourself or others.

His death isn't what bothers me.... death doesn't bother me anymore nor do I expect it to bother them. They were laughing before he had even been found..while the fire was still ablaze... while there were people in the house looking for Emmet... This topic is also sure to come up at school...and everyone knows where I live so in comes the fake sympathy, and visits to the school counselor which leads to visits to a psychologist I'm sure.... It's the imagery, and the lull. I cannot get over those lulls. I hate them. Those periods of silence after an incident in which everyone leaves as if nothing happened... I hate them...

EDIT: Now...it's almost dawn and everyone else here is asleep...I actually had people staying here because yesterday was my birthday. It's seven in the morning and almost dawn now...... Oddly, Gm had to leave when he was talking to me to go teach people about fighting fires...I didn't think a thing of it and look what happebed now....

He might not be dead right?

Lulls? I have never seen that kind of lull before. Heh.

How are you holding up so far? Will you be the one to break the lull?

Fake sympathy? I'm sure they mean well, unless you know them to be two-faced.

Sorry, I seem to just have questions.

Edit: The irony is astounding...
