((*activates siren for emergency timeskip* @_@ And two things: Part of me wants to bring Riley in now just because, but I don't know if I should put Jaquel on the back burner for now or deal with him and Ariae first. The other thing, whatever happened to Milly's mom? XD))
Van just smiled as the two cuddled on the couch. As the days went by, Van continued working on all aspects of the house until everything almost looked like new. Probably because most of it was. "I didn't think it was possible, but I do believe that's something like a month's worth of work successfully completed in a week's time." Van said as he wiped the sweat from his brow, his hair pulled back into a long braid, finding it to be the best way to keep his extra long hair out of his face. He stood in the front doorway where he could see a large portion of the house and looked over everything.

{I've had a little block for Milly's mom, and I was simply going to wave it off with "she's resting/recooperating/whatever". I was thinking that maybe Milly's mom could enter later on and try to kidnap Milly while she's sleeping - only to run into Ariae or something like that. I think it might be funny if Ariae and Marianne somehow got into a catfight. Ariae would win, obviously, but still. biggrin }
Mala snuck up on Van and hugged him from behind, grinning broadly from ear to ear. "When it's you who made it happen, is it really surprising? You are my miracle worker, after all~" she purred in delight.

"Well, I am a god after all. Miracles are kinda my specialty." Van said with a grin as he looked back at her over his shoulder.
((*rubs chin* I might be able to use that to get the whole Jaquel/Ariae thing wrapped up too. biggrin If you're still blocking on Marianne, I can drag Riley back in. XD ))

"Sorry, I just like being able to do things for you." Van said with a sheepish smile as he turned around to face her.Meanwhile, back in town, a halfway familiar face stepped off a boat in port, a large drawstring bag slung over one shoulder. "No girls around? Guess Jaq's back again..." Riley said with a sigh after looking around some before heading towards the ruins of his old home.((I'll send the new and improved Riley profile in just because in just a sec. In other news, if I didn't find the pic I did, this is what Van could have been. Such sexiness demanded to be shared for obvious reasons. owo))

"You can think of all this as part of my probationary period, my one big apology package for all the crap Jaquel put us through with his brainwashing schemes. That way, I get to do something for you and you don't have to feel bad." Van said with a smile as he brushed away the stubborn stray hair that had come back for revenge.
"Damn....I know there was a demon attack involved, but time has not been kind to this place...." Riley said kicking at the dusty ground slightly as he stood on the edge of the ruins.

"YARG!!" There was a loud rumbling soon followed by a yelp from nearby. Poor Riley, always the universe's butt monkey it seemed, had just been walking by one of the buildings decided to collapse on him. He was alright and unharmed, just currently stuck under a giant slab of rock.
"What on earth was that?" Van wondered as he looked in the direction of the commotion as he started to walk over.

Mala walked along side Van, quite curious about what was going on herself. After all, the houses held up this far - something must've disturbed one of them if one of the buildings was making this noise.

"What did I do to deserve this...." Riley moaned with a TT-TT face, his upper half sticking out of the rubble as he lay on the ground, unable to do anything besides pray someone came to help him out.

"He married a vampire, what did you think was going to happen?" Van said easily, unphased by Riley's bout of immortality as he went to help the poor kid (or rather, man) out from under the rubble.
((I just realized how much Twilight mocking could have been done during Angel's brief pregnancy. Switched roles, but essentially the same. XD))

Mala stared in disbelief for many moments. Eventually, once she realised that she wasn't actually dreaming and that Riley was now outside of the rubble, Mala ran over to hug her baby brother tightly. It had been so long since she last saw him. "RILEEEEY YOU'RE BAAAAACK!"
Ariae rolled her eyes after hearing Mala's squeeling and went back to sewing. She was working on a beautiful sort of dress - something that almost looked like it would belong to royalty. Since Eunice didn't seem to be paying attention, Ariae began to softly sing to herself a melody that just wouldn't leave her head.
{Am I the only one who could somehow imagine Ariae singing "Fly Me to the Moon" when nobody's listening?}
