After ensuring that Tizenia was stable, Ionan headed to the line. He slipped between Tassiel and Rhiyn to wait. “Do you think everyone’s done getting hurt?” He asked, and set his focus on the bronze. Was he lazy or just tired?

Kahbrohm

When Soui spoke up, Kahbrohm immediately turned on her - he'd lost some of his very limited patience for the 'pleasant thoughts', and after suffering such grand disappointment, the edges of his temper were absolutely flaring - "You, shut up, I don't need your lecture," he snapped - only a few steps below actual rage. Then, he turned back to Dehka, grabbing his brother's face roughly to look it over with a scowl.

There was no gentleness to be found here.

"I can't tell if that dragon," which had it been? He didn't know, "got your eye, but you sharding idiot, you should have gone to have it looked at immediately," it was very hard to tell if he was actually worried, or just over the fact that he shared a father with this boy.

And of course, the bronze in the middle of the sands was - well, he wasn't sure if it was playing a game or up to something else with it's line, but he shoved Dehka roughly towards the healers. "Fine. Maybe they can patch one of us up quickly enough for that dragon to get the look it wants."

Kinyegele

Having seemingly settled a great deal now, Kinye looked towards the line assembling off near Slytherin. This...was like the bronze on the beach, right? She glanced now towards Crucio, Amortentia, and Imperio, pondering if the most delicate of that trio was now settled enough for them to venture safely across the sands.

Then, she looked up at Fisher. "Do you....want to get in the line?" It was absolutely okay if not.

----

Juhvek

Juhvek could see the line forming, but was still getting patched up. So for the time being, he watched, pondering if the bronze would have selected his long before his scratches and bleeding had been finished with.

Lucius

Standing beside Zelaya, Lucius attention was on the bronze that had gone to the girls defense. He couldn’t help but respect the dragonet for his actions. The fact his attention was there was why he started when they took his hand. He turned his head to look at Zelaya, giving an absent minded nod as he walked with them and into the line. He didn’t really know how fbthe bronze before him was the one for him, but he was a candidate and was needed to still stand for them. He couldn’t help but glance back at the other bronze however.

Cabhan

It had gotten dull much to Cabhan own annoyance as well as the greenish bronze looked over the group of candidates. Not saying that candidates had to die for entertainment just the dramatics had eased off as another bronze impressed. It was like watching his future circling the forever a healer never the rider future. Even as the greenish bronze beckoned others closer he took only a step forward and stopped. Worthy, maybe, but being drawn up in a line with others seemed foolish, if he was worthy why would he need to line up with the rest of them.

arlie

"Are...Are you okay?"

She knew one of the rules was 'don't talk to strangers.' But she was alone, which was her fault anyway, and...Haveli was going to be mad regardless. So breaking another rule was okay...right? In spite of her wariness, the little girl had a big heart, and she felt for the other candidate even without knowing him.

Arlie's hands fidgeted with one another. "D'you--"

Her head twitched towards Slytherin as he called for the candidates to line up. A spark of hope lit within her. Haveli would surely go to see him, even though bronzes didn't want girls. Haveli just didn't care about that sort of thing.

"D'you wanna go see the baby?" she asked, turning back to the tall man, extending her hand hesitantly. There was a digit missing on her pinkie. "M-Maybe he's yours?"

Saekagi

Wasn't sure what to make of the polite request to form a line, save to give a wary sidelong look to the boy who'd taken quite a scratching on his behalf, shrug mutely and move to get in line, helping his new friend if the other boy was interested in joining him. IT seemed potentially less hazardous at least, to go with a nicely worded request and Faranth knew he did not want to see another highly offended baby, either of the murderous or pale variety, though by the time he managed to cross the sands, the bronze had his head under his wing and a frustrated sort of petulance about him.

"...Sorry..." He added, warily. The dragons partner had to be out there somewhere, he was so... stable. Hellaku maybe. For himself he didn't dare imagine, everything had gone so wrong when he'd been so damn sure last time.

Firebolt though... he had to give that one points for cheek, but another dragon could get away with it.

Tuelarua - High Reaches Candidate

At his warning, Tuela nods a bit. “I will be.” Between Farellen and the other precautionary she got, she’d made more of an attempt to see and watch what was happening around her. “Be safe, too.” For there were still hatchlings roaming about, and Firebolt’s playful careening to be wary of. But she glanced at Slytherin before back to Farellen. “Who knows if he might be yours, though..” The bronze had been on the sands since the beginning.. Yet she wouldn’t force her new acquaintance to move. Instead, she joined the line up, seeing the greened-bronze from a better view now. And oh, what a handsome dragon he was.

Dynzrak

The bronze seemed quite put out now.... apparently unimpressed with those who had stepped forward so far. He sighed to himself, mulling it over. To step forward and be rejected would sting, certainly... but staying back and playing arrogant might cost him. After a moment, Dynzrak sighed again, but drew himself up confidently and started to approach. An egg had tried to bowl over some of the approaching candidates... but he had his eyes fixed on the bronze.

Dehka

The steady command from the small girl was enough to make him straighten at once, hunching his shoulders as though utterly abashed. She spoke sense.... but with the three of them injured, she'd be by herself. His teeth immediately caught his lower lip, worrying over it... and that was when Kahbrohm snapped at Soui. "Stop it." He interjected, moving as though to shield the girl from his brother. "She's just trying to help, Kah--" And then his face was grabbed, his teeth clinking shut with shock.

Still, Dehka held himself very still as his brother scowled at him, having the sense to look ashamed of himself. "Orri was really hurt--" Still was. "--I couldn't just leave them." He finished. He nearly fell again as he was shoved, glancing over his right shoulder so he could still see both Soui and Kahbrohm.... before nodding.

Alright. Fine. They'd get taken care of, and then they'd go see him. Together. That seemed fair...

FISHER

"Hmm, probably not. Bronzes ain't interested in girls, right? An' despite how I look an' am built I'm still one of 'em." This was probably the first and only time Fisher would directly acknowledge herself in that manner and it was glossed quickly. "If you wanna go over an' say hi while it's calm I'll go wit'cha though. I'll uh...hold your hand? Or carry ya, if you don't wanna walk 'cause something could happen."

There was a pause. "Didja see that egg roll in to the line? That's kinda cute an' funny, yeah?" Was she really helping Kinye feel better?

Gryffindor watched the line forming for Slytherin with a bit of jealousy, bugling slightly in offense. Fine, if his brother HAD to have the attention and find His....That was fine. He would keep wandering around the boys here, grumbling and muttering to himself. Fiiine, Well... Time to look harder. Maybe he could find His close by.

-----

Auror scoffed quietly to herself, starting to trot around the girls now, studying them all with whirling blue-green eyes. She was content now, after all. As long as her candidates were safe, Auror would be happy.

Farellen thought hard on what Tuela said.... what if the Bronze was for him? ... you never knew, and Faranth knows he worked damned hard enough to get here.. "Tuela wait" he called through closed teeth, moving long legs quickly to catch her up and get in line, hoping that a healer was coming for that downed candidate pretty soon.

SOUI

Soui winced at the snap by Kahbrohm but did not back down, her head still raised up as she listened to him. She knew that in times of extreme pain and/or stress people often reacted angrily and violently towards those around them. Thankfully this new man's only reaction was to grab at Dehka and yell at them both; Dehka seemed to know him and so whatever happened would happen.

When they both moved to depart she bit her lip and sent them off with a smile, hoping they could get healed up and then see the dragonet if they wanted. Her place wasn't in that line, bronzes didn't like girls after all, and this one was clearly looking for his lifemate. Maybe.

Now properly alone, Soui interlocked her fingers and rested her hands on her stomach, looking out around the area not unlike a newborn herdbeast trying to find a safe haven. It wasn't that she was scared but somehow this was far more different than how it'd been earlier. The sands, despite still being full, felt surprisingly empty.

Calla

Impressions crackled in front of her, but Calla was still off to the side, near the far edges of the HP clutch. It had oddly protected her before, but now with so many taking care of others, she seemed perhaps more isolated. When the thoughts of the Slytherin bronze invaded her mind, she cocked her head to the side, curiosity piqued. But Calla really did not like being told with to do. It had caused her problems as a kid... and a teen... and always. The girl could be incredibly rule-following, as long as it served her own purposes and led her to her own goal.

She had been raised in High Reaches, had grown up on some more antiquated beliefs about the "correct" genders for dragons. But she didn't believe them, not personally. Her childhood was spent beating the boys at most things -- if anything, she challenged herself to do anything people said she couldn't. To ride a bronze would provide her a smug satisfaction that she loved. For a moment, she envisioned it, flying over High Reaches Hold on a bronze, a mental middle-finger expressed with her proud stance at anyone who had doubted her, or mocked her dream of being a rider. Then her mother's face came into view, and Calla retreated. She didn't want her to hurt her mother, but she would, if it meant achieving her dream. Even if it would be painful. Most important things were.

So it wasn't her gender that kept her feet planted. It was the unnatural feeling of playing into someone else's hand, be it human or dragonet. The only hand Calla liked to play into was her own. She didn't want to line up with the rest, to be like all of the rest, only to be passed over and made to look like an idiot. The only thing worse than looking stupid was looking weak, and Calla felt like stepping into that line might bring her both distasteful emotions at once.

Ryah & Blue Kairinth

In the Stands, Ryah watched an adorable egg roll right into the line forming in front of the Slytherin bronze. Hey, Kai, look -- there's an eggroll on the Sands. A rimshot may or may not have sounded.

A what?

Ryah shrugged and went back to watching with interest, happy the blood-and-ichor-shed seemed to be over and wondering if eggrolls were a thing in Pern (probably not).

Grumioll
“I’m fine,” was his terse reply. He wasn’t bothered by the little one, just… not interested in talking. She had the look of a newborn herdbeast, all gangly and weak enough that it seemed a solid breeze would blow her away. He looked down at her maimed hand, assessing the old wound and wondering how she had lost her finger. Something about the smallness of that hand stirred something in the back of his mind. A memory? An instinct? Whatever it was, it prompted him to first gingerly touch the tiny palm, then close his fingers and thumb around the girl’s hand. After that, he was at a bit of a loss as to what to do and just stood there, waiting for something to happen.

Tuelarua - High Reaches Candidate

She’d paused midstep, waiting for Farellen to catch up with her before continuing on their way to line up. Yet she sends the downed candidate a worried look, hoping that healers might fetch them soon… “If things get hectic again, we can always take a step back.” Yet she hopes her new companion might his among the sand. If worse comes to it, she could always try to take a step in front of Farellen--he was already injured enough, even if she may not be much more than a speed bump.
