"Recovering boy scout" xd That's one way to put it. I was in scouts for seven years before we stopped going camping and that just sucked. I loooove camping though... somehow it's relaxing to be in the middle of predator- filled woods.

lol I grew up in a family of hunters; I hate guns, personally, so it didn't do much for me. I did, however, look forward to the *camping* aspect of those trips each and every year! ^_^
And "somehow it's relaxing to be in the middle of predator- filled woods" made me laugh! ^_^

at least with guns they die.. fast.

Yeah we used to do archery a lot. But due to my own clumsiness, I ended up failing royally at that. Yay for hurting my arms with the bow string...
Glad to provide amusement ^^
No more scarred than I am already, but the raunchiness has gone to me faster today, due to my lack of sleep

with it
Never hit unless I tricked it
Instead of fiksing on the actualy targeting thing I'd just figure out that I missed with 4 notches left and 2 down and just move it up 2 and 4 to the right. "It Means 'Run Jaft Run'.'"

Well, I just *personally* dislike them. I don't like the way they feel, I don't like the noise... My dad was actually an NRA instructor, so I have plenty of experience with them, and I don't have any problems with *others* using them (responsibly)... *I* just don't like them. smile
And I agree with traps; a good archery hunter, though, will also get his prey and dispatch it in a timely manner so as to alleviate suffering. (My family actually uses any meat that's gotten during hunting, too; and my dad was once a butcher, so he knows how to dress it out properly as well.)
I do like archery for target practice, though. smile

Yeah all we had for aim was a little peg that stuck out just beside the arrow. It was really hard for me to keep the damn thing straight though. Every time I shot it, my arm would jerk to the side and the string hit me.

Oh I was holding it fine until I shot it, then the bow jerked into my arm, where the string hit it. sweatdrop Yeah I'm that good... I can injure myself with anything. I assume my arm strength was part of it. That was a few years back.

That's not an unusual thing at all, Penned; in fact, they actually make a forearm protector to keep people from getting rope burn from the bowstring. smile

I love archery. It's the main reason I miss Girl Guides. I was the only one to be able to hit the targets dead on. ^_^ It made me happy. But now I'm probably too klutzy to be able to do it properly. I hurt myself a lot now. xp
