Adrian's hands returned to his pockets, letting Amaya cradle her bad arm along the way. 'Stupid ice...'

When they got to the hospital, Amaya spoke with the nurse atthe front desk, who nodded and took her to the back rather quickly, since no one else seemed to be there.
Calista stayed with Adrian out in the waiting room, though after a half an hour, the little girl fell asleep, curled up in her chair still.
It was another half an hour before Amaya came back out, but her arm was wrapped in a cast and put in a sling. "Just a tiny fracture is all." She told Adrian softly, knowing that probably still wouldn't help any.

"How long do they think it'll take to heal?" Adrian asked as he shifted Calista onto his back to carry her home.

"About a month." Amaya told him, picking up Calista's hat that was still on the seat. "Nothing major at least." She murmured.

"I'll be sure to sign the cast once we get home." Adrian said with a small smile as they left, Calista positioned snuggly between his two wings as he carried her. "And I guess things would be too perfect otherwise. I'd just be left wondering when karma would kick in and hell would break loose."

"Thanks." Amaya laughed lightly as she followed next to him. "Well why did I have to get the karma?" She teased as they headed for the apartment.

"Because karma's a b***h." Adrian said easily. "And she knows that if you're miserable, then so am I."

"I'm not miserable. Just in pain." Amaya sighed, laying her head on his shoulder.

"They were practically interchangeable four years ago. We'll make sure you get some pain killers before bed." Adrian told her before giving her a small kiss. "After all those healing supplements of Sikes' we should be speedy healers at this point."

Amaya only nodded, not feeling like bringing up the issue that she shouldn't take any pain killers at the moment. Once they got to the apartment, she unlocked the door and then opened the door to Calista's room for Adrian, since he had her on his back still.

"It feels like it's been a while since I last saw her looking that peaceful and cute." Adrian said with a warm smile as he gently set Calista down on her bed and slipped out of the room.

"Well you know seven year olds. They have hectic days." Amaya said with a sarcastic smile, sitting on the couch now.

"It's Christmas. I highly doubt this has jut been a 'hectic day' for her." Adrian said finding something to write with before joining Amaya on the couch. "And I've had a four year withdrawl of her cuteness." he said uncapping the red pen he found and gently taking her cast in hand and scribbling down a sweet little note on it: 'Sorry for being a klutz. If I could handle bone like I could handle blood, you wouldn't need the cast. -Adrian ♡'

Amaya turned on the tv while Adrian wrote on her cast, reading it once he was done. She smiled and kissed his cheek, now cuddling into him. "Thanks."

"We need to get you to mingle with more people if only to have more friends to sign it. It's kind of depressing if the only person to sign your cast is your loving boyfriend." Adrian teased as he returned the kiss, putting an arm around her shoulders as he settled in.
